Hi everyone,

not finding it easy to get to a computer often now I'm off night shift so will be reporting in less frequent.

Thanks to everyone with words of encouragement and understanding.

I am managing the injections with no problems - but as a nurse I think I would be stressed out if I wasn't!!! Only side effect is 1 night of hot flushes but I am getting headaches more frequently but not till night time. I am also drinking 2 litres of water a day - which I thought I was but now I am monitoring it - it is really hard!!!!

Lots of PMA to everyone in the 2ww and good luck when the time comes.

Hi girls. Well my EC went well. They retrieved 13 eggs, which was more than anticipated since only 9 follies showed on the u/s. They said sometimes follies get hidden behind other follies and they don't really know count until they get in there. Also - they drained the hydrosalpinx in the left tube while they were in there although they said it will probably fill right back up. If this cycle fails I will probably have surgery to remove it alltogether that way I don't have to stress about it.

Embryologist called me this morning - out of 13 eggies, 10 were mature and 7 fertilized!! I called dh to tell him his little guys did their job! I am all set for ET on Tuesday. I will probably have 2 put back and the surviving embies frozen. Needless to say, I am excited!

Angela - sorry to hear you are having work problems dear. That never helps things especially when you are already going through so much with ttc. I wish I had advice for you other than the usual - deep breaths, take it easy, etc. Feel free to rant and vent to us all you like!

StacyMarie - I am sending you babydust for that fighting little embie!! I am sure everything will be just fine !

Niccy - I had hot flashes at night too - it was crazy. After the first week they went away. Hang in there.

Sammy - You know what they say - 3rd time is a charm!!!

Sorry no personal mentions today ladies, when I have an opportunity to read all your posts then I'll do the 'shout outs'. Just dropping in with quick update….

Day after my last post, pain and spotting gone!. Latest U/S showed very active, fast developing baby and I’m feeling great! no more morn. sickness (yippee!) and thanks to my ‘brush with death’ I’ve lost weight , not off my belly but off my thighs and arse! (There is a god!!!and she must be a woman!). So I'm back to enjoying my wonderful dh, daily chats with mum and shopping/lunching with friends. As a firm believer in, ‘everything happens for a reason’, I’m thanking god this happened now and not on my business trip. Re: cause of tear – Spoke with 4 docs and despite 200 yrs of combined med experience, not 1 straight answer. The best I could get was my uterus’s quick expansion “could” have caused tear. Wishing I had checked the diplomas hanging on their walls more closely.

Med team seem excited about babe saying all is “perfect”, however on learning baby was growing at speedy rate and was now 2 weeks bigger than should be, I freaked out (images of me giving birth to a baby the size of Danny DeVito, was a little too much to handle without caffeine) but it turned out the nurse had mis-calculated my edd, so baby’s due date is in fact Oct 25th. I’ve updated list.

Very quick note to say good luck to Danielle for the EC on Monday!!! Here's hoping for lots of fabulous little eggies that then become fabulous little embies!!!!

More personals next time I log on, but it is almost two a.m. and have been up late working (groan) and must get to bed. Have an appointment with my RE in the morning. They seem to have found something in those immunological blood tests they did two weeks ago....big sigh and deep breath but hopefully we will have some answers (and solutions?!) to everything that has been going on.

I am not sure if it is ok that I join this thread, or if I have posted this correctly. I just turned 32 and Dh is 31 . We have been TTCx 2yrs
We are startin our 1st IVF this month or next.
I noticed many have said they are taking BCP?(birth control pill?)
My clinic did not mention that, so I was wondering does everyone need to do that?

Hello to everyone else. I have 7 embryos - 6 graded excellent and 1 graded poor - and I am all set for ET tomorrow. I am sad to tell you that my dh's best, dearest friend passed away yesterday after a long illness and we will have the funeral to deal with this week as well. I will be off work and offline for a week or so.

I just wanted to drop in to say hi to everyone and wish you all well. I will look forward to logging on in a week or so to see how you are all progressing. I am always thinking of you!

I am in the 30-40 group, too.
I am 34 and in the middle of my first IVF cycle. I started stimming Saturday, April 1, with Bravelle and Menopur. I go for an ultrasound this Thursday, and am scheduled for egg collection around April 13 or 14, with ET around April 16. I am wondering how they are going to do this with that being Easter weekend. Apparently someone is available 24/7.
I am excited about IVF and so glad I found such a wonderful website.
