Waiting for 1st scan

Bella,

So glad your HCG showed your numbers doubling, must help you relax a little, good luck with your scan next week.

I can't believe how much longer this wait seems than the 2ww. I think it is because my hospital scan you early and then discharge you, i just seem to be in limbo, should know a bit more later about what is next for me.

Good luck with all the scans next week, can't wait to see your news

Sue - do you have a midwife appt arranged? That will help to get your PMA back. The waiting is so tough isn't it!

Bella - excellent numbers!!! Well done! I didn't ask for mine but I think if there'd been a problem they'd have let me know.

Kristi - good luck for Monday's scan. Nice that you don't have to wait so long. Yes, we'll have to exchange twin pregnancy experiences - there's also a twin thread on the pregnant after treatment side.

Mel - how amazing to see that little heart beating, and to hear it too: what a bonus! Congratulations

Ahart - wow, triplets is amazing!! How are you feeling? Love your ticker - it's SO cute

Eminde - I went to my doctors and showed them the card that LWH gave me, with LMP, EDD etc, etc on and asked them about a midwife appointment and they looked at me as though i had 10 heads. They told me i had to see the doctor first. I saw the doctor today and she said that i should hear from the hospital or the midwife soon, so who knows when!!! But i did manage to blag a scan on monday (with a few white lies

), i just need to know if all is still going well. yes the waiting is horrendous, i really wernt prepared for this.

Kristi - good luck for monday, fingers crossed for us both.

So 6 of the 7 of us are having scans next week. Mel, you should request another one and join us! Just kidding! Good luck to you on Monday too, Sue. I like this one week wait between "things"....it went by quick. Don't we wish everything only had a week wait during this process.

Hi girls,
Good to see everything is going along so well! Bella the last of the first scanners ... hope your not going too crazy with the wait! Lucky bunch you all get to check in with beanies for a second time next week too! Bummer!

Am feeling very much in limbo, booted out from the fertility clinic nest now (or "graduated"as my docter called it!). Its quite an anxsious dilemma deciding between paying for the doctors ongoing care, or the alternative finding your own midwife. I'd prefer the good relatioshipw with the midwife but theres been bad press about midwifery care in NZ lately which doesnt help, and there are MAJOR shortages. I have a list of names and numbers whcih I just have to cold call and several of the ones I have talked to are already booked in November! No one else has returned my messages to call me back! I will be so glad when this is sorted. Until then nothing happens and I have no idea when I will be next scanning!

Sue hope your feeling much better after your mini downer, good to see you pulled off a couple of white ones to ease your peace of mind. So how far are you on your next scan?

Ahart fingers crossed for you for number three!

Hope you guys have a good weekend, roll on end of April and first trimester safe zone!!

Mel - what a lovely ticker you have!!!! It is weird the limbo feeling isn't it? Wishing you all the best with the decisions over your care. It's hard to know what to do for the best. I will be 8wks 4 days at the next scan, so not much further on from your one. At the 6wk 3 day scan the doctor didn't tell us anything, not even the size, just said all was fine , we nearly didn't even get a picture, only the nurse asked him, so he quickly put the probe back in and done one, so its not very good, although it is our 'bubble'.

I am feeling a lot more relaxed today, no headaches, so far

got to dash and pick hubby up from the busstop

Hello everyone! I'm hoping to join you in the "waiting for scan" group. This whole process is sooo much waiting! I'm a bit newer and have a much later scan then all of you. I'm hoping all your good luck will rub off on me! My scan is the Monday after Easter (April 17). I could ask for a earlier one as I've had an ectopic, but this it might just cause more stress. I hate waiting for results!!! Good luck to the next scans coming up. I see lots of wonderfully beating little hearts in our future!!

Well I feel as if I'm about 4 months along...When you have more than 1 baby inside basically sucking out your nutrients and blood it's very tiring...sorry for the goreish language...it's in a good way...I have to take 2 prenatal vitamins and 2 omega fatty gel cap..I'm still on estrace and prometrium....I feel like I'm starving all the time, however I've managed to eat healthier foods and drink lots of gatorade and some H2O...I have morning sickness galore..but it's bearable...My husband is such a team player which makes things at home smoother...

Ahart, I was so glad to read your message because that tells me what I'm feeling is normal. I feel like the 2 babies are taking everything out of me, so I can't image how you are with 3. I'm dead tired all the time and take lots of naps, have absolutely no energy, I eat constantly, and am nauseaus and sick all the time. My mind is happy as can be, but my body is the opposite. This sure is an adventure!

What a busy week this will be

I have to admit - I am not feeling good today...but believe me I am not complaining...feels like a hangover or I am about to get the flu. I have absolutely no appetite for anything and oh poor DH...yesterday was a very long day for him...he was actually lookig forward to going to work this AM. BBs are sore at night when I am sleeping...but other then all these 'issues'...I am ecstatic and counting the days until Wed....but also very nervous and anxious....let's just say terrified.

I have to admit I have quickly read everyone's news...Ahart wow 3!! I am sure you are so tired.. Sue and KristaA I hope all went well today

I am off to take my mid-morning nap.

My scan today was great. The 2 hearbeats were strong and both babies grew to the size they should be today. In fact, due to their size, they gave me Nov 11 as the due date, which is the exact date the online calculator calculated for me too. In the US I've been working with a Fertility Specialist and he "discharged" me today, which I suppose is a good sign. Now I have to go to my regular OBGYN doctor for my next scan in 2-3 weeks.

Tracii - hangover or the flu are the exact words I've been using to describe it too!!!

Hi tracii, Welcome back!!! Not long until that scan, how exciting, I'm sure you will be fine but it is nerve wrecking like you say.

Deidre - welcome, are you finding the waiting now worse than the 2ww?

Daly - You are very patient, how far gone will you be at your scan?

Kristi - great news on your scan, what size were they?

My scan was fine, little 'bubble' is progressing well, s/he is now 15.5 mm. I now have to wait for the hospital or midwife to get in touch, my next scan will be in about 2 or 3 weeks (i think!!) So now i will definately relax a little.

When do people plan on telling friends and family? I was thinking i would wait until at least the 12 week scan, although it will be weird telling work colleagues. last time a couple knew about the whole treatment and then this time i hardly let anyone else know.
