Hello Ladies:

I'm not that encouraged about my cycle anymore. I started cramping on Wednesday. (Lisa: Thanks for reassuring me about the cramping.)
However, yesterday I started spotting as well and am still spotting today. Eventhough the spotting has been brown (old blood), I feel like I should be starting AF anytime. :( I'm going to test on Sunday, if AF doesn't start.) I called my nurse and she said not to worry unless the spotting is red like AF............easy for her to say.

Regards,
Tammy

Anna,
I'm so sorry about your cancel. I've lived through one and it was very sad. Take care while you regroup and let us know how you are when you can.

Tammy,
Your nurse is right, unless it's red you still have a good chance to be pregnant. Please try to keep the faith. I know of women who have had their period the whole way through their pregnancy even - honest. My ex-sisterinlaw is one. Chin up.

My tests revealed that my fsh level is now up to 17 (highest ever). We are definately depleating my egg supply. :(

Anna - so sorry to see another one cancelled for you. I was hoping to see a success story come out of QMH. If and when you go down the donor abroad route, rest assured they will be very supportive and will do your scans & blood tests for you no problem, they were so good to me.
Pm or email me if you like.
Take care

Oh Anna I'm sorry, what a bummer. I want to say ignore the doc and carry on stimming but I suppose that's just wishful thinking. I so wanted this to be the one for you because you've been so patient. Look after yourself and take your time to collect your thoughts - we all know about doing that, don't we.

Tammy, poor you, but don't give up yet, you absolutely never know - last year I didn't bother testing and went off to Spain on holiday - when I came back it was to have my scan.

Randa, hope this is the one for you.

Love to all,

Hi everyone, just popped in from Kiev for a quickie. We have had a couple of good days here, the Clinic is fantastic, everything new (only opened July last year). The staff are great, and Laura, the main English speaking contact, is lovely. The initial consultation went well, although the ultrasound revealed I have small fibroids and a couple of cysts! No sign of any problems before with exams, but I am told ISIDA's scan is the very latest up to date job you can get. He also found some scar tissue near cervix and was worried about it hindering ET, so has done a mock transfer today, which was fine. So, we have signed the contract, I have my meds, I just have to wait for next cycle, start meds on 19th day, then AF, then day 3 scan, then day 12 - 14 ET. OMG, we've done everything we need for the moment, apart from transfer the money, which I do before day 19 of this coming cycle.

Kiev is different and interesting, but I must confess the language barrier is a bit hard for us, however, we are coping by pointing a lot, and hoping that at least one person can speak English, the alphabet is so different in Russian, you cannot even hope to guess at things/signs! Still, we are having fun, especially now the stress of the appointment has gone. Will speak more after we get back on Monday.

Love to all, sorry I haven't time to post individually!

Hi

Bev, so glad to see you are pleased with Kiev and what they offer, I really hope it all works out for you.

Hope everyone else is doing OK through all the recent ups & downs.

I am trying to read everything I can about adoption. Some days I see myself with a 2 or 3 year old little girl and we are a happy family, other days I think I can't go through any more stress, and other days I think I don't want a child at all and why am I even considering it. Confused? You bet I am! Still, keeps me occupied I suppose.

Saw a horse give birth today in the field at the back of my house, not quite sure why but I cried, it was a very emotional experience and I've never seen it before.

Am I losing the plot? Maybe

Anna,
I'm so sorry you had another cycle cancelled. I can't imagine how it would feel to not even get there to the dreaded 2 ww. I'm definately an advocate for the donor eggs, i'd love to do another donor cycle if we could afford it but looks like my problem isn't getting pregnant, it's staying that way for longer than 9 weeks so probably for the best anyway.
Kat,
I know what you mean about the confusion. I feel the same. Now we've got this nursery all ready for a foster baby....not knowing of course when we may get one or if we'll even get to keep it. I wonder if we should have done this at all. So many expectations, so many disappointments, unknowns. No wonder my marriage is suffering. We just need to stop stressing about everything else and be US. We've been trying to have a baby since before we got married so it feels like it's ALWAYS been about that.
Bev,
Kiev sounds really exciting but scary too. I have this fear of being in a country where I can't communicate. Guess it's a good thing i'll never get the chance to go. Best of luck.
Tammy,
I swear I had the spotting too. Please don't give up so soon. I know it's easy for me to say from here and that i'm not all that reassuring since I lost all 4 of my pregnancies but tons and tons of people have spotting. Even red spotting. Try to stay a little optimistic?
Started Lupron today. Going to get it over with. Last 3 frosties. Just need this roller coaster over so we can move on. Trying not to be optimistic at all. Not as far to fall that way. Just going through the motions.

Hi everyone

Good to hear from you Bev, good luck in Kiev, sounds like it's all gone according to plan so far - even if it's a bit of a wait to get going!

Kat, good to hear from you. Hope you resolve what it is you want - I suppose life's often not perfect and whatever way we go there are pluses and minuses and we can't hedge against those risks - even getting pg and going past the first 3 months is no guarantee things will be okay - even after the birth you just don't know what's round the corner - I understand your dilemmas. It's hard making decisions when you've been struck down by events. Good luck, though, with coming to the point where you can move forward with it all in one direciton or another.

Lisa, glad you're doing your frosties and your attitude is pretty much like mine. Seat belt on, prepare for a bumpy ride. Good luck with the lupron.

Anna hope you're doing okay, hope you're coping with the latest rubbish news. Perhaps you'll try DE too. Bev's reports sound encouraging - and there's Jules, too.

Hi everyone else, lots of luck to all of you

Lotsa love, Lara x

Hi everyone.

Just got back from my first progress scan - and wonder of wonders I have 11 follies, all of good size or getting there! Can't believe it as last time I only produced four... and I have been really run down the last few weeks with a lingering cold - I don't usually get ill from anything, so am really pleasantly surprised. So were they! Anyway, the clinic are bringing my EC forward from Monday to this Friday!! :D

Jules - any news yet?

Bev - Kiev is sounding really positive. You must feel very excited!

Tammy - do not worry about the spotting yet. A lady I chat to on another IVF fertility forum spent the beginning of last week in floods of hysterical tears after losing quite a lot of blood - albeit dark and clotted blood. She went for her scan on Friday fearing the worst and they found not one but TWO heartbeats!!

Anna - hugs.... and more hugs. I'm really really sorry to hear that your follies haven't grown - in my limited experience follicle response has varied greatly from cycle to cycle ... who knows why... I dunno...

Lisa - good luck with your meds and your frosties.

Lara - not long til the scan now. Have everything crossed for you.

Kat - Good luck with your investigatoins into adoption. I know what you mean about the horse. Even seeing baby birds makes me well up...

Randa, Gail, Robyn (and anyone I've missed out) - hello ladies.

Hi Caz - what's BCP?

I do feel pretty pleased, but cautiously so...

I'm on the flare (short) protocol - top dose GONALf each evening, and Cetrotide each morning. I'll be having one more progress scan on Wedensday and if all going smoothly do my Pregnyl shot on Wed eve.

First progress scan last cycle on same protocol and same doses - at first scan only three follies. Apparently it's quite unusual for the response to vary so much. ..

HI JO

BCP = BIRTH CONTROL PILL

ON MY LAST SHORT PROTOCOL I PRODUCED 6 GOOD SIZE FOLLIES WHICH WAS UNUSUAL FOR ME AS 1ST 3 ATTEMPTS ONLY PRODUCED 1 GOOD SIZE FOLLY WITH AN EGG. ALTHOUGH I PRODUCED 6 GOOD SIZE FOLLIES THE DOC COULD ONLY GET AT 1 OVARY BECAUSE OTHER HADNT DROPPED AND WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO TRY. SO, ONLY ENDED UP WITH 3 EGGS OF WHICH 2 FERTILISED AND WERE APPARANTLEY VERY GOOD BUT STILL DIDNT WORK.

THIS NEXT ATTEMPT I AM NOT DE REGGIN UNTIL FOLLIES ARE AT 12`-14MM IN THE HOPE THAT I INITIALLY PRODUCE MORE FOLLIES - HOPE IT WORKS!! WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE TOP DOSE OF STIMS? I AM ON 600Iiui OF MENOPUR PER DAY!!! THEY SAY I CANT HAVE ANY MORE THAN THAT.

GOOD LUCK - KEEP US INFORMED!!
