Hello I'm new to this board. Just wondering if there are people doing the the procedure the month of April? I start my stim meds on the 7th estimated time for retrevial is the 16th or 17th. Estimated time for transfer around the 20th, 21st. As you know they said the dates can change is that right. I have heard of them cancelling your procedure why would that happen? Sorrry this is all new to me so I have alot of questions! Anyone started the progestrone injections yet?

Hi Mel,
I'll be cycling a bit after you- starting down reg end of April I hope, but good luck with it all.
I'm not an expert but they sometimes cancel if the eggs are not growing enough or if there are too few. They will always check your oestrogen levels if there is a question mark and this gives them a good idea of how things are going. If the eggs need abit more time to grow they will let you carry on stimming for another couple of days. My clinic only likes you to stim for maximum 12 days, so it doesn't go on for ever.
Another reason why you may be cancelled is that in very rare cases people get over stimulation of the ovaries- OHSS. It is quite rare but in extreme cases can be dangerous.
Progesterone shots aren't too bad are they? Good luck with yours and I hope you get a beautiful baby fro it all.
