Hi Lucy
It looks as if we might be on a similar schedule so we can keep each other sane!!!
It must have been tough having the 2 m/c, I have had 3 chem pregs but never made it past week 6.
Let keep our fingers crossed that this is going to be a good cycle for us both.

Welcome to the April/May buddies Carolyn, Ellie and Lucy it's good to have you 'on board' as we can all help to encourage and support each other during the coming weeks/months :)

Ellie - I certainly don't think you're greedy wanting another baby, it's great to hear a success story and an encouragement to us all.

Lucy - I wish you every success with your treatment. I can't even begin to imagine how distressing your previous attempts have been and I really hope it will be 'third time lucky' for you.

Carolyn - I think your idea of dealing with the treatment process in small steps is the way to go. It can be all too easy to get 'carried away' thinking of the end result when there are lots of smaller hurdles to cross along the way.

Look forward to 'chatting' more over the coming weeks and hearing how your treatment is progressing.

Date List for April/May Buddies

Post by CarolynB »

Good Morning.

Welcome on board Ellie and Lucy. We are getting to be quite a bunch already. :o

It's Sunday and I am sat around at home in my PJs with dh on the golf course. So thought that I would try to do something useful. I see some of the other ladies have a date list that they can update as they go along so thought that I'd have a go at making us one. Hope that is ok :?:

So here goes:

Ebony - Injection Class - 5 April

Sofia - Down Regs - 10 April..............Stimmies - 22 April

Natalie - Down Regs - 9 April ............Baseline Scan - 25 April

Wendy - Down Regging - 7 April

Ellie - Scan 12 April

Lucy - Flare cycle starts 22 April

Carolyn - Down Regging - 25 March......................Scan - 11 April

Think the idea is that we update/add as we go along. Hope that I have picked up dates correctly. If not then sorry + please just amend.

Ellie - your story gave me hope.

Lucy - this is going to be third time lucky after what you have gone through. Have my fingers and toes crossed.

Natalie - thank you for the words of wisdom on the injections. One less bruise. :)

Ebony - we will all look out for tips after your injection class this week.

Have a good week. I plan to spend the rest of the day chilling out. I have quite a stressful job (where I am trying to go part-time to help me) so not sure how much I'll post during the week - more a weekend activity for me!

i had a good few drinks last night while i still can! not looking forward to the ups and downs of yet another attempt but i'm excited that this may be the one that works and i treat every little step, every appointment, scan or date as something achieved in the right direction.

Hi girlies

Ellie - Great we'll be cycling together, its always good to have a buddy to keep you sane..! Your not wrong about m/c it was truely the worse thing I have ever been through in my life, the second one was the worse cos I saw my baby's heartbeat 3 times, got a scan pic and actually fell in love with my baby, then someone decided to be very cruel and take it all away from me. I really didn't want to have another go cos there's no way I can go through that again, but then again, I know I have to keep going...! I'm very sorry you had to experience 3 chem preg's, it really isn't fair is it. This is the one for us....!!!

Wendy - Hope your OK? Yep here's hoping its 3rd time lucky too.....!

Carolyn - Hope you've had a good Sunday doing nothing.... its good just to chill out sometimes.. Well done on the list - I'm sure we'll all do our bit to update it..! Don't be getting too stressed at work, have a good week.

Natalie - Good on you for having a few drinks - I feel like having a good night out before tmt starts, don't want to be doing it too close to tmt so better get something organised..! I know what you mean about the ups and downs of this road we're all on but like you say, this one could be the one... or should I say, this one will be the one..!

Hi to Ebony, Sofia and anyone else I've missed....

Have a great week everyone..

Take Care

I was wondering if I can join you? I started posting on the March/April buddies but my EC and ET will be in May.

This is our second attempt, this time we are doing ICSI as we had a low fertilisation rate due to my eggs. Started down regging on Friday and baseline scan the 17th April.

Wishing all you ladies a BFP.

Welcome

Hi Clair & Vess

Welcome to the April/May buddies. The more the merrier as far as I can see. Then we should all find people who are on similar dates to our own.

I am so thick that I had to go to abbreviations to figure out what BCP stood for! You have to laugh when you have the irony of having used them for years and then figure out that you could have saved the trouble all along.

Just thought that I would check in before I left the office but been here 11 hours so just a brief drop in this evening as dh will no doubt be wondering where I am

I'll update the list for your dates tomorrow if somebody does not beat me to it!

Hello Everyone! :D I can't tell you how excited I was when I logged on this evening and saw all my new buddies!! I feel bad for not checking in this weekend!

CarolynB: I LOVE the list! You're right, the injections aren't too bad! I just have a hard time sticking myself! I have to give myself a pep talk everytime! "Come on...it's for the babies!!" I used to be able to "jab" it in quickly, but now I just poke it in slowly! It's sad because I'm a nurse....but it's SO different being the patient.

Natalie Anne: I am praying that this will be the time for you!

Ellie: Ofcourse you can join in! The more the merrier! I definitely don't think you're greedy for wanting more children! May this be a very successful cycle for you!

Luby: What's a flare??

Sofia: I hope you had a relaxing weekend! I can't wait to hear how you US turns out.

Well, April 5, two more days, is my baseline scan appointment and I am too excited. Hopefully my ovaries are responding to the Lupron. The same day we have to go to injection class for the stimming meds. Man, time has really flown by! I remember thinking in December "only 4 months to go" and now it's here! It's a bit overwhelming! Well, my dh and I will be leaving for DC in the am and I'm not sure if I will have access to a computer for a couple of days but I will update you all as soon as I get back! I hope everyone has a good night and I thank you all for your support!

Hello girls...

Post by miel »

I am a little ahead of you... I started stimming April 1. It has been going ok. I have been feeling my ovaries working overtime. Not too bad, but it is making me tired. I feel like I want to cry over everything. I am scheduled for retrieval around 10-12 of April.
As stupid as this seems, I am worrying about whether my body could handle more than one baby. I am only 5'2", so I called and spoke to my ob/gyn to pick her brain. She said that anyone under 5'4" will be at high risk with even twins. I am thinking very positively. I WILL BE pregnant next month!! So will you all!
Good luck.

Hello ladies!
I was supposed to be half-way through a short protocol by now, but due to high E2 my doctor cancelled the cycle last week, so we never actually started.
Next attempt is planned to start around 20 May, so it seems I will be more of a May-June buddy! Anybody else starting this late?? (it feels like a century when you have to wait like this...)
Nevertheless, I would love to join your list and wish you all the best of luck in your efforts - may this forum be full of babies for everyone!

Hi everyone

Claire - Welcome - I also start stims in April, but my EC/ET will be in May. Just want to wish you loads of luck with this cycle.

Vess - Welcome - Good Luck with your tmt.

Carolyn - Hi Hun - I also had to check out what BCP stood for....! Wow 11 hrs at work.... hope you've not done that long today.? Or is that the norm for you.?

Prissy - I'm like you, use to able to just jab the needle in, 2nd time round I was a wus and did it very slowly, prob be the same this time round..! Yes you being a nurse and all, it should be nothing for you, saying that though it is the patients who get the needles at work and not you..! Flare just means a short cycle, start stims on 2nd day of AF then on them usually for 10 - 12 days then you go for EC....! Good luck with your scan hope your ovaries are doing there job..!

Mafalda - Sorry your cycle was cancelled. Wishing you lots of luck with your tmt..

Jess - I replied to you on the other April / May buddies asking you to come join us - but your already here, so welcome. Good luck with your cycle, wow transferring 3, good luck.

As for me not much to tell, only that I've had the busiest day ever. I have been thinking about how long to take off work after ET, last two times I've had 2 weeks off but now I'm thinking this time I'll only take a week, had quite a bit of time off work you see, when I had my last miscarriage I had 2 months off because of how it effected me. How long are you ladies taking off work?????????

Take Care everyone

my first few times i only took a few days off. last time i took 2 weeks off and got a +ive (later miscarried but at least i got one step further than before) it was the only thing i did differently so will definitely take at least 2 weeks off this time.

i've always taken time off as annual leave/holidays and when i used all that up last year i took a few days as unpaid leave. however, a friend of mine just got signed off by her GP for FIVE weeks!! if she can manage that, i'm hoping mine will sign me off for 2 or 3 and my boss won't be able to do anything about it.

the only thing is, you can only get signed off from the day you go to the GP so you can't say that you want to be off from the middle of the following week for example. i may be wrong about this - anyone else know more about this?
