Want to introduce myself

Post by Daniella »

Hi All,

Just thought I would introduce myself, not sure if I should have do that here or in the intro section.

I am 30 years old, and have been trying for a baby for the last 6 years now. I have had one miscarriage at about 12 weeks, and then a year later had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have my fallopian tube removed. All very traumatic when you think that you are just going for a scan. That was June 2004. After all the trauma, and the heartache of that, we decided that a break would be the wise thing to do, mainly for our sanity. I was becoming obsessed. Very scary me!!! So we concentrated on doing something else, and got married in October 2005. (I finally got him to do it)

So here we are, I am on day 5 of taking Gonal F, had a scan today, and they have now up'd my dose to 450iu, as I am not responding very well. So time will tell.

I am quite surprised at how un-stressed I am about it all, not sure if this is normal. I guess I am thinking that it won’t work anyway, so no point getting my hopes up. I keep getting asked if I am thinking positive thoughts, but I don’t see how any amount of hoping is going to change the outcome.

Well I am sure as it gets closer to the collection, I will be asking for your support and asking stupid questions.

Thanks to Mitzy for showing me this sight. I will look forward to speaking with you.

Hi Daniella,
I too had an ectopic last Nov. It was my first ivf and when I went for my scan at 6 wks, they found it in my left tube and I had surgery the next morning. Lost the baby and the tube... So I know how devastating that can be. I have just done another round of ivf and got a BFP today, but everyone is very cautious as I am spotting. But you have to stay positive!!!! I truly believe that negative thoughts have negative impacts. I also believe strongly in prayer and the support of others. So try not to worry, and you found a great site here, everyone is very supportive!! Good luck to you...

Hi Jen,

Thanks for your kind words. I guess I don't want to get excited about things and get my hopes up just be disapointed. I suppose at least being not negative, but, realistic helps me keep my sanity.

I want to wish you all the luck in the world with your BFP. I truly hope that you it works for you.

I am sure that I will need the support of you girls in the coming weeks, and I can see that this is great place to be able to discuss all those things that you might not talk about with anyone else.

Good Luck Jen.

Hi Daniella

You've had a rough ride but sound like you are trying to take it one step at a time & to stay pretty balanced which is great. If I look too far ahead then I am worried that I'll get too carried away and it will make the fall even harder.

We have a thread going on the general forum for all the ladies who will be hoping to test at some stage during April/May time frame. There is quite a group of us. Plus we have a list of all our dates rolling now as well.

Why not come across and join us?

All the very best for this cycle and a BFP. Image

Daniella,

I have been around the block a few times with different complications, but the best advice I can give is this...Try to keep a level head throughout - don't focus so far down the road, take baby steps - check things off as a each sign allows you to move forward.....And use this forum, you can be silent or vent your head off!!

Hi Daniella,
Just wanted to say welcome and heaps of baby dust to you on your cycle. I can relate to you totally, after 6 years I FINALLY got on the long awaited IVF and couldnt understand why I felt so deflated when I finally go on the program.

Your bound to be protecting yourself, I just want to say, try not to worry about how you feel, whether its negative or positive.

After such prolonged trying your bound to be protecting yourself. Those hormone drugs are wreaking havoc too! Feeling negative about things ISNT going to increase chances of a negative outcome! So just go with you you feel, and its a big bonus if you can try and find strength in just taking one day at a time, be calm and try not to stress ahead about what is around the corner. Theres a big fat BFP waiting for you. You deserve it and it will happen

Be good to yourself and take it one day at a time  Wishing you heaps of baby dust and PMA
