Jen , hi , thanks for message. I know I said I was taking time out but feel that there is no need for me to sit around. We have been doing research on and off over the past few months regarding donor eggs. ....I do like to be prepared!
We had a meeting with a clinic in England booked for May but following advice from my GP today have decided to cancel that.
We finally decided to get things moving as soon as possible. We have chosen the IM Barcelona clinic and I emailed them today to arrange a meeting. Anyway we can go to Barcelona next week if we want for an initial consultation! I just need to talk things through with dp when he gets in from work. Phew... feel the need to be proactive rather than waiting around.

Hi ladies
A quick up date. dp and I discussed our options and have changed our apptmt in Barcelona to 3rd May. Next week seemed a bit sudden. Now we have time to renergise, organise decent flights, get blood tests etc up to date and get our heads round everything.
Got an apptmt with Queen Mary's on Tuesday for 'closure' on all things IVF with my (non)eggs!

Im sorry to hear that its been postponed again, but good for you to look forward!! I know that there is plenty of options out there for us so we keep moving forward!!

They moved my FET to the 17th, so I can wait til after Easter.
I have an appt tomorrow for labs so I hope all is well. I have started Estrace for my lining.

Hi,

I had my scan today, and she hurt!! couldn't find my right side, so she asked me to push down on my tummy, she said she found one and maybe 2 small ones. I don't know how she managed that, the probe was that far up it killed.

In the end my follicular growth chart says number follicles 6, but I count 7, 1x18mm 1x16mm 1x14mm and 4x 6mm. So I am very dissapointed today.

They have brought me EC forward to Monday, and are saying I will only have 3 to play with, so I am feeling rather down. :cry:

Hi Anna,

Yes my strigger shot is tonight at 11pm, I am going out tonight, to our local club, taking my shot with me to put in the fridge, then going to my sister in laws (she is a nurse)to do the injection. I don't think I could have done it myself.

Estrace .. yes thickens the lining. They had to up my dosage because it wasnt thick enough. Still on for FET for the 17th. I start progesterone on the 12th. It is all coming fast. I hope time passes quickly for you so that you can start your next cycle. Ive been thinking of you!!! :)

hope you ladies are all well.

anna, i'm sorry about the way things have turned out for you. you've been through a lot and i certainly admire your strength in always looking ahead and not dwelling on the past. i'm sure things will work out for you in barcelona. i've heard great things about the clinics there and they also have good success rates. a lot of italians go there because donor eggs/sperm is against the law here (yes, very enlightened and compassionate lawmakers in this country). so, good luck!! roll on may 3rd.

mitzy, best of luck with ec tomorrow! try not to be dissappointed with 3 follies. like everyone says, it's quality not quantity. it only takes one!

mlg......will be thinking of you tomorrow. i hope the levels double and i'm sure they will. it seems to be a common occurance so hopefully this time tomorrow you'll be celebrating a definitive bfp!

jackie, hope your lining is thickening up. you're nearly there, not long to go.
i wish i could say that we might be on the 2ww together but as always on this rollercoaster nothing goes smoothly. i have 2 cysts which are hogging a lot of space on my poor ovary and they're also absorbing the hormones so the upshot is that i've only 3 follies and they're small. back in tomorrow for another scan. just praying we don't have to cancel the cycle. i want to go for ec even with only 3. it only takes one, right mitzy???

Rachel, good to hear from you. Sorry about the cysts, they are an absolute pain aren't they! Can you have them aspirated?I had this done and then continued my tmt. It's worth asking to avoid cancelling a cycle. It was a painless procedure and all over very quickly. Good luck with scan. :)

Mitzy, hope EC went well and you are at home resting. Sending you a fertilisation fairy Image and lots of PMA!

Jackie, the days are flying by at the moment, must be because it's the Easter holidays! Have spent time meeting friends, shopping, going to the gym and generally chillin' out. Bliss..... the weather is fab too! The 17th is fast approaching for you. Hope your lining gets its act together and does as it's told! I'm sure all will be fine, keep thinking positive thoughts x

I'm off to Queen Marys tomorrow for a final apptmt after the last cancelled cycle. I am hoping that they will give me all my medical records so I can take them with me to Barcelona. I am entitled to them aren't I? Not looking forward to going really. The nurses and dr are sympathetic but there's not much they can do, we will probably just go over old ground and conclude that they don't know why things turned out the way they did....just another hurdle to get over!!

Hi ladies, well they got 6 eggs, 4 mature, and 2 immature.

The strange thing was though, they said that my notes where written up wrong, the side they got the eggs from was my right side, this was the side that she couldn't find on the scan, and the left what had most eggs, they only got one.

They are doing ICSI now so I am relieved.

Have just got back from QMH with all my medical records. The nurse just printed them off there and then! The dr wanted to put me on the egg donor waiting list in England which would mean a wait of approx 18months! I am 42, does she really think I can wait that long? Anyway I told her of our plans to go to Spain and she was very supportive. They will even do all my scans for me! Hurray, good news for a change, Barcelona here we come. The weeks before we go are absolutely jam packed, including that I'm taking a group of 10 and 11 yr olds away on a school residential on 24th - 28th April, so the week before we go to Spain will fly by without a minutes peace and quiet :)
