How many people have done Blastocyst?

Post by minsm »

Hi everyone! I am kinda trying to figure out my next step...I need some input! How many of you have tried the Blastocyst? How many embies did you lose during that stage? and have you succeeded with the blastocyst? Thank you so much for those who help me out! My next transfer is May 16th therefore I am doing my research right now...I have 18 embies left and going on my 4th transfer!

Take care

I was successful with blastocyst transfer but the rest of my embies did not survive to be frozen...My embryos perform much better in their natural environment

Hey Mindy,

My clinic only transfers 5-day blastocycts. We had 19 eggs, 13 fertilized normally and when we got to transfer date, they showed us pics of all the embies. They showed us the ones that were doing really good and some that were slower and not as good quality. We put back 2 and over the next few days they called me to tell me only 7 continued to grow but 2 were just stalling out. So they kept the best 5 and we froze those. So in my eyes, we did lose some but if they weren't good enough to begin with I didn't want to keep them anyway. You only want to freeze good qualities anyway.
Hope I helped! Good luck for a BFP in May!!!
HUGS,
Allison

Hi Jamato and Allison, Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

Allison I was wondering if this was a good idea? Ok I have 18 frozen embies at the moment, I am going for my 4th transfer in May now I was going to ask the clinic to put 4 frozen embies this time around, now if this time doesn't work I will be left with give or take 12-13 frozen embies I was wondering if you would try the blastocyst if you were in my shoes?
My embies are all looking great!

Thank you once again

Mindy

My friend has had IVF twice. Each time was with a single blastocyst. Each time she fell pregnant and now has two healthy children.

Good luck!

Mindy,

Yes I would transfer blastocycts b/c then you know they have continued to divide and are healthy. So I believe the chances of getting BFP are greater. Wow 4 - that's alot! I know a lady who put 4 in and she now has 1 boy. So I guess people do it. With our age group my clinic will only transfer 2. So I have no choice!
Good luck honey!
