My kind GP wrote me an NHS prescription too, but it all went horribly wrong - so beware !!
The Private prescription said 'Menopur' (stimming stuff). My GP put 'Gonadotrophin' - again stimming stuff, but not actually specifying which drug (a bit like putting anti-inflamatory instead of Ibuprofen).
When I took the NHS prescription to the chemist, they dispensed Menogon - ie totally the wrong drug. So, it turned out I injected the wrong drug, in the wrong site, the wrong method, with the wrong sized needle.
Just be sure that the 2 prescriptions are EXACTLY the same !!
Good luck !

Seven weeks on BCPs is a looong time ! I don't know why some girls are advised to take them - others not. Maybe it just depends on the clinic and their practise ? Or, do you have erratic AFs ? - Could that be it ? I think I agree with you, in that I'd rather have a natural rather than force bleed. However, I'm sure they must know what they're doing, and it must be proven to be effective.

MY GOD WHAT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THE DRUGS!!!! DOES YOUR CLINIC PAY FOR THE DRUGS EVERY TIME - NEVER THOUGHT TO ASK OUR SURGERY, ALTHOUGH MY DOC DID REFER US FOR T/MENT AND DIDNT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SOME SURGERYS PAYING COST OF DRUGS - DO YOU THINK I SHOULD ASK??
WITH REGARD TO AF - MY AF IS QUITE REGULAR AND NORMAL SO CAN ONLY THINK AF IS TO MAKE TIMING TO SUIT THE CLINIC???

Good to hear from you. What a cock up with your drugs. I did check prescription while I was in the room with the doctor and then re checked it when it was dispensed. That could have been so dangerous for you. Thanks for the warning.
Kacey- Fingers crossed for you. Let us know your news.x
caz- It would be worth asking your GP. You never get if you don't ask. It has alot to do with your PCT and funding. This may be the ideal time to ask as we have just started a new financial year so they will have lots of money in the pot at the moment.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond .. I've had spyware and some sort of virus on my pc which has been drivng me potty. The pc's had to go down to the shop a couple of times to have the hard drive reformatted, so a pain in the bum 'cos I've lost everything ..... Anyway ..
Caz - I've just seen on another thread you're recently back from The Gambia. Whereabouts did you stay ? We stayed in Kololi about 5 years ago. Re the drugs - the only reason the GP agreed to write a prescription was because we were entitled to an NHS cycle, but chose to go Private. So, the NHS were saving dosh really. Asking won't hurt though, they can only say No ..
Clair - Good to hear you were so thorough ! Hope your cycle's progressing to plan. You should be stimming by now ..? Good luck !!
