You should have a 'booking in' appointment with the midwife at around 12 weeks (mine ended up been at 14 weeks because I changed doctors inbetween). Mine did a home visit for this. It was quite a long appointment which mainly consisted of asking lots of questions re family history and then taking blood samples for full blood count etc.
Each GP's practice may differ I suppose, but Im sure this is the norm. It might be different for you in that you may be under 'consultant led care' with having twins and not 'midwife led' as with a 'low risk pregnancy', but theres surely no way you will be left until the end of May without been checked! I would have thought you would be monitored more regularly really.
It might be worth ringing your GP's practice on Monday. Sometimes you can get 'forgotten' and missed off the system. Following been signed off by my midwife 2 weeks after Jenna was born, I was 'lost off the system' and realised the health visitor hadnt been to see me more than a week later!
All the best with your pregnancy
