Follie question

Post by Mitzy »

Hi ladies,

As you can quess I am new to IVF, and I am going for another scan tomorrow, when I went on tuesday, I was told I had 1x 12mm 1x9.5mm 1x6mm on the left, and 1x 10mm 2x6mm on the right.

My question is, what are good sized follies, and what are too small to work with?

Also can you have ones that are too big?

Hope someone can enlighten me. :)

hiya
my understanding is that they are looking for follies in the high teens
yes they can get too big but im sure your clinic will keep a good eye on you and you will be fine
dont worry if you think ya embys are too small as they can hav huge growth spurts right when you need em too 8)
hope you get the bfp that you are lookin for

I was told the same thing...high teens, very low 20's...and yes, they do grow quick. My RE said they grow approx 2mm's per day. Also, new follies pop up and grow too. So you'll likely have more follies next time and they all keep growing. Once they have a good amount that are mature (like over 18) then they will do your retreival.

Mitzy,

My clinic said follies have to be at least 18mm. I had some that were over 20 by the time of ET. I'd say you have a few more days of stimming to get there.

Good luck!

Hi Mitzy,
Your follies are a good size for your 1st scan and will grow and grow with each scan. As the others said, 18-20mm is a good size to end up with, hope you are feeling ok with your stimming , good luck with your next scan.
