Hi girlies

Danielle welcome to the board, I am on max dose of Menopur as I don't respond very well with anything less. Good Luck with your appoitment next week, hope you get a date for EC..! Anyway hun, welcome..

Danielle (454) Wow 17 eggs is a lot, you've done a fantastic thing donating your eggs for cancer patients, yopu should be proud. Good Luck with the ET - I know what you mean about the 2ww, it really is awful. Be careful with those EVIL HPT, as I used one of my 1st cycle, it showed neg, so I was doing so much, like house work, garden, clearing garage out etc and it was a BPF - I couldn't believe it... so I def did not go near one on my alst cycle. Good Luck, hoping for a BFP from you.! (no pressure!)

Prissy - I'm now glad I inject in the thigh and not in the but, I don't think I could let my boyf do it anyway, he'd be like yours and just 'DO IT', where as I do it slowly, sometimes though that can be worse can't it.? Hope you get some rest this weekend.

Beth welcome to the board, you will get lots of support here. Good Luck with your tmt hun. It can be quite overwhelming at first, but you just adapt to it. You'll be fine. I have added your date to the list.

Vessi - Glad you don't mind sweetie, Hope verthing with you is OK?

Jess - Sorry I don't know much about those drugs, I use Menopur - I widh you lots of luck though with your tmt, I'm sure you'll respond just as well.

Carolyn - Hi sweetie - We'll be a right bunch then won't we.? It's usually the close friends that tell you truth so you must be a control freak.!!!!! My friends tell, I'm very particular..
Think I will join you in that wine idea, had another crappy day at work, so might as well induldge in the iwn while we still can eh? Have a good weekend.

Mitzy - Welcome - Great news on the follies - here's a folly fairy to give you lots more.

I have added your dates to the list. Good Luck hun.

Sally - Hope your Ok? Have a good weekend.

Sammy - Welcome - great news to you also about the follies - I am also sending you a follie fairy to boost your follies
Image
Great news about the acupuncture - keep it up girl.

Wendy - welcome - its sod's law isn't it, when we don't AF, she's there and we do, she never bloody arrives. Sorry your HPT showed NEG, I think we all live in hope of it just happening don't we. Anyway take Care and have a good weekend.

As for me nothing to report, going to clinic on Monday for bloods doing and all paper work then its waiting for AF, which is due 22nd, then start Stims, 2nd day of AF, then its all systems go....!

Have a great weekend everyone.

I have updated the list - hope you don't think I've taken over, feel free to input whatever you like.!

Hi all,

I went for my scan today, she couldn't really find my right ovarie, so after what I thought was a good start, I now feel a bit deflated. And she didn't half hurt with that probe!!!

On the other hand, I went and sat in the consultation room, and she said I was ready, :o and they have brought my EC forward to Monday, at first they said Sunday, but DR DeBono popped in and said to have a extra day on the Gonal F.

At the moment I only have 3 mature and maybe 4 small, so they are only thinking that I might have 3 to play with, and then lets hope these fertilize.

So I am a bit down in the dumps and feel gutted. I was hoping that they might have some embries to freeze, but probably not now.

Anyway what will be will be.

Hello Ladies,

Wow, we've grown to be quite a group - thanks for updating the list Luby and getting us organised.

Well I went to the hospital today to collect my drugs and start my first attempt at IVF/ICSI, I'm on 0.5ml daily shots of buserelin. DH has agreed to do the shots and did the first one today at the hospital under supervision from the nurse - he was great. Only thing is I'm not that good with needles and was feeling a bit 'worked up' to start with. As soon as DH took the needle out of my tummy I started feeling dizzy, then I thought I was going to faint (went very hot and ears started ringing really loudly). Ended up with me having to lie down and a very concerned nurse wondering whether I'm going to cope with all the injections

I'm sure I'll be fine and that it was just the high emotions of finally getting started, but think I'll have tomorrow's shot lying down just in case

Last May we booked a holiday to Egypt for June this year but were advised to re-think our plans today due to the timing of our treatment. We were advised not to travel so soon after ET (if we get that far - thinking positive thoughts!). We have therefore cancelled our holiday and lost our deposit. I feel a bit deflated as I was really looking forward to going and can't help wondering whether I'm going to end up with a BFN at the end of May and no holiday to look forward to in June.

I guess I'm just being greedy wanting a baby AND a nice holiday. As DH pointed out we can go on holiday anytime but this might be our only chance of having a baby. I know he's right and I'm sure I'll feel much more positive tomorrow, just feel a bit fed up right now.

Hope everyone else is doing fine and has a great weekend.

Hi Ladies

Mitzy -Hello. Thanks for joining us. Sorry that you are down about the numbers. But just keep thinking that it will only take one good one. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. :D

Danielle - You are our leading lady. You are going to get us all on our way with a BFP. Any news yet on your ET? Have added your dates below to our list.

Lisa (or should that be Monica 8) )- Hope that you are ok with me updating the list for Danielle! Sorry that work is not good for you right now - what do you do? Enjoy a nice glass of wine whilst you still can.

Wendywoo - sorry that you got a negative on the peestick. I so hate those things. Let's hope that your AF is not too late this time around so you can get going. Doing a jig for you. Tried to find a jigging picture but on dh laptop and can't get it to work.

Sammy - welcome to our team. It is really helpful if your boss is understanding. We need all the help that we can get and not too much extra stress.

Sally - I cannot believe that of all the clinics in London that we are both at the same place. How have they been? Did they tell you why they start on the long cycle and then go to a shorter cycle? I am sure that I will have lots of questions for you. I'll do some web searching tomorrow to see whether I can come up with somewhere closer for you to stay. I'll let you know when I am going to be there & may be we shall see each other. Hope so. 8)

Wendy - just seen your post whilst I was on line. At least you are on your way. I am on the buserlin too. dh will not go anywhere near it so nice that your dh is helping you. You/dh will get used to doing it. It is a shame about the holiday but we do have to give this our best shot. Fingers crossed that it will be worth it for you & dh. Then there will be plenty of holidays to look forward to.

As for me - two weeks of down regging. I am getting quite tired and seem to be getting home from work & then falling into bed. I am going to take it pretty easy this weekend and then have my scan on Tuesday to see if I can get going on stimmie stage. Hope so.

I hope all you ladies have a lovely weekend. Thinking of you all.

Hello! I can't believe how much we've grown! When I first started this forum I was hoping that there would at least be a couple of other ladies to join....I never would have imagined this! Thank you all SO MUCH!

CarolynB: I know what you mean! I have been down regging since March 20! I am definitely tired, I almost always have a slight headache...but I have lost 5 pounds!!

Danie 454: 2ww all ready! How exciting! 11 more days then your BFP!! Just thinking of myself where you are now gives me butterflies in my stomach!

Mitzy: I hate to sound cliche, but as we all know....it only takes one! The 12 will be here before you know it!

Sammys: Welcome! I too am seeing an acupuncturist! I LOVE IT! She plays this wonderful, relaxing music and I repeat positive affirmations to myself once all of the needles are in place! This sounds VERY GROSS, but since I have started the color of my AF is bright red! She says it's because the blood supply to my uterus is better because of the acupuncture!

To any newcomers I missed WELCOME to the family! I will be pretty busy this weekend. MY dh and I will be staying with my parents for the next 3 weeks because they live a lot closer to our ivf clinic. So, we have lots of laundry and packing to do. Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hello everyone.

Well I have a big smile on my face - :D

I had yet another u/s this morning with the more experienced consultant, who confirmed definitely that there is no polyp in my uterus. So I got her to call my doc at the IVF clinic to explain, and to make a long story short - I start down regging tomorrow!! Talk about no build up before the event - I was all prepared to wait another two months, and bingo - its tomorrow!

So I am one of you again! I must read all the posts and catch up on everyone's news.

I have a question, though for those of us who have started down regging (or have finished). How are/were your mood swings and emotions during this time? I terrified that I will end up screaming at DH the entire time ( I am volitile at the best of times), and stress us both out by behaving very badly. Any advice out there?

I look forward to this all working out for all of us.

Hi Sofia

That is really great news. With us all the way. Image

It seems to vary from person to person. I am down regging on buserlin (daily 0.5 injections). Found my thighs bruied a lot but the ladies told me tummy could be better which it is and also to inject quite slowly. It does get easier everyday. I feel quite tired & have mild headaches. Nothing too bad. I can be quite emotional/highly strung as well. Have been a bit more volatile than usual but from all the reading that I have done that can sometimes become worse on the stimmies.

All in all not been too bad and we know why we are doing it of course. Have had a couple of rants at dh but have been sane enough to explain that it is me losing it rather than anything that he has done.

Hope that this helps a little. Let us know how you do when you get started tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes!

I had my ET on Thursday, we had 2 put back in.. One was a 9 cell and one was an 8 cell, on a 3 day transfer.. They said that was pretty good so I am hopeful.

Now im sitting here just analysing each and every twinge.. Cringe. Stab.. bubble.. (Gas Im Sure!) I did Do a HPT the day before my ET and it came up Positive due to the Trigger shot..

I then did one the day of my ET and it came up negative.. Which means my HCG levels fell below 50 from the trigger shot.

I am going to wait until next Tuesday and do another one..

Don't misunderstand me.. I dont actually expect it to really tell me the truth.. I took an HPT at 3 weeks past my AF time with both of my kids and it told me Neg.. Both times.. So they really dont work for me anyway.. I just thought it would be fun to clean out my Cabinet ( i had 11 spares from over the years)

Hugs to everyone!!

That is great news and sounds very positive. Image

Hope that you are resting up well and giving them a chance to get cozy. No housework at all!!

Fingers crossed that all is going to go well for the 2ww. Sending you lots of baby dust.

Can I join too?

Post by LauraLou »

Hi, I'm Laura and I am just starting the IVF process. I am getting my baseline sono and starting Lupron on April 21. This will be our first attempt at IVF. I have several friends who are pregnant, one after using Clomid, but no one who is going thru IVF. It will be nice to have others who are sharing the same experience.

I am excited but a little scared. I'm not worried about the sub-q Lupron/Follistim shots, but I am not looking forward to daily intramuscular injections of progesterone in oil! The doctor recommends doing those shots in the butt, but I'm worried my husband won't be able to handle doing them. Has anyone tried doing progesterone shots in the leg?

Thank you for letting me join the group and good luck to everyone!

Hi Cyber Buddies

Mitzy - Good Luck for Monday - you'll be fine, I'm sure you'll get some lovely eggs from those follies - Keep up the PMA girl....... ! Thanks for updating list, I am not far from you, I am from Leeds and having tmt at LGI.

Wendy - Good luck with the injections, it is all a bit overwhelming at first, but once you've been doing them a couple of days, you'll be a natural.. I know exactly hoe you feel about holiday, I was suppose to be going away in Aug, but I haven't been able to book because I'm not going to know what position I'm going to be in. Like you DH pointed out, you can have holiday at any time. I'm sure you won't regret it, cos you're going to get a BFP, so it will have been worth loosing that deposit..!

Carolyn - Thanks for sorting out Danielle's date (our leading lady) I work for the NHS believe it or not..! And I still can't get my tmt on NHS. Hope you’re having a good weekend - I did enjoy my glass (or2) of wine last night, just been out for our tea and had a few sneaky glasses again..!

Sofia - Congrats on not having a polyp after all. That’s great news, bet your well chuffed, you can start tmt now, sometimes its better when its just thrown at you, then you don't have time to think about it too much, good luck with the down regging. Sorry can't answer you on the down regging question; I've always done flare cycles.

Danielle - 'Our leading lady', Wishing you all the best, you will def get a BFP, as you'll be the first to test out of us ladies. Good Luck Huni. I analysed every single twinge and believe me it does you no good, just try and go with and await your test date...!

Laura - Welcome to the thread, you will definitely get support here. Good Luck with your tmt.

Anyway everyone, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sofia I am SO glad to hear that you had a "disappearing polyp"! That is wonderful news! I was REALLY hoping that they wouldn't find anything! Well, I have been downregging since March 20 and I have not had any mood swings. What I do have is an occasional nagging headache, I'm VERY tired at the end of the day, and a little forgetful. I've also lost five pounds which I think might be due to the lack of female hormones during this time! Welcome back! :D

Hello everyone
I am new to this site. I am scheduled for retrieval on Tuesday and will then have transfer on Friday. My follicles look good (about 12) so far but the nurse who has done my ultrasounds is concerned about the endometrium in my uterus as it doesn't appear to be "getting ready for transfer" as they would like. But then my Dr. says it looks fine. I guess I am in fully worry mode. We have done this 3 years ago and had 2 failed IVFs and then did a frozen transer and had a little girl. So we are of course thrilled for her but I really want another one and this is probably our last chance. So I am looking forward to this week and then not looking forward to the following 2 weeks of waiting. My Dr. will do a 14 & 16 day blood test. That is the longest 2 weeks I have ever went through. Good luck to you all.
