July Thread

Post by Macca8 »

Hi all,

Am I too early to start a July thread? I start my next ICSI at the beginning of July, AF and FSH levels permitting of course, so I thought it would be nice to have a thread where any ladies beginning at the same time could join in.

Sorry if you all think I'm a bit premature and mad. I am!

Wahooo!!! July buddie's already, thats cool, I started the June one and thought that was early but as it turns out think I maybe nearer July for actual tmt.

Af is due on 24th June, so actual iui will be in july........

but hey that could change, sometimes my cycle is 24 days and sometimes like last month 37 days......... Yikes, so I have based 24th june Af on the 28 day cycle thing.....

Hiya Nicky,

The weather was great at Easter. I went over to spend time with my mum. She was 85 last week (I was her 8th child at 48years) and her mental health is unfortunately deteriorating, her short term memory mainly. She forgets things all the time and some long term stuff too. She asked me where my kids were, was someone babysitting them. (I have no kids, stepchildren but they're adults) She was obviously getting me mixed up with any one of my brothers or sisters. She knows its happening to her as she knows she can't remember how she got to places and when people came into the house, very confusing for her. But one of my sisters looks after her very well and we all chip in, even those of us that live in England, US and OZ.

The rest of my family live all over Dublin and we party'd all weekend. My husband absolutley loves going. He's from a small family and appreciates the fun of a big family. They are all great together and my nephews and nieces are mostly adults too. Only 2 kids under the age of 10, the remaining 17 of them are over 16 years old.

I'm there a lot this year, theres 2 weddings, one in July and one in October, plus hen parties. Good thing it is so cheap to fly.

What did you get up to when you were there?

Morning all!!

Sorry I've not posted for ages. I sort of forgot that I was part of the July thread!! How stupid am I??

I am going to Dublin on Sunday!!! :D My family live out there so I try and visit as often as I can. I usually get out there about 3 times a year!! Its awesome. I plan to move out there in the next couple of years, depending on how my life pans out, of course!

What do I do when I'm there!?! Get completely p*ssed with the rest of my party mad Irish clan!!!! (not now tho cos I'm trying to cut down and stay healthy for ICSI in July)

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum Macca. That must be really hard for you. My DH's aunt is the same. She doesn't have any kids so Mark (DH) really worries about her and tries to look after her the best he can. She lives in a nursing home, so she's pretty well looked after there, but Mark still looks in to make sure all is well. She doesn't really recognise him anymore and shouts at him sometimes, which is really upsetting for DH.. I hope all is well with your Mum tho..

Anyhoo, am really pleased there is a July thread. Kinda felt like I was a "forum drifter" and didn't really belong anywhere!!

Toodleoo!!

Corinna,

Thanks for the kind comments. I've come to terms with her illness. She is so healthy in every other way so I am grateful for that and she has a good quality of life otherwise, we all see to that. My dad died 26 years ago so we have all always looked out for her as she did for us.

My husband and myself are looking at buying an appartment in Dublin in 2 years. It is so bloody expensive there though. God forgive me for saying this but I'm hoping the market crashes a little by the time I buy, my poor brothers and sisters won't feel the same obviously. Have to wait until after all this IVF rubbish is over with though first...it's a bit financially draining not to mention emotional.

I was going to move back home about 5 years ago. I have been in the UK 16 years. But I met my gorgeous husband and that put a spanner in the works regarding the move. We can't relocate permanently there as he owns a company here which is 20 years old, so we will have to wait until he sells it in another 15 years so we compromised and said I could get a flat there so I didn't have to keep staying with relatives. I go about 5 times a year so it will get its use and I would allow my husbands family to use it too when they fancy a break.

Are you nervous or excited about the IVF or both?
I'm a bit more nervous this time as I know it will be my last so there's a lot on it.

Hiya Macca,

You can be completely forgiven for wanting the Irish housing market to crash a little!! Me too!!! There is no way on Gods earth we can afford to live in Dublin at the moment. We were even looking at Wicklow or Kildare, but even that costs a bomb!! The houses in Longford are cheap as chips but theres bugger all going in there. No jobs or anything.

Me and DH are in a similar position with his work. He has his own hairsalon, so its not quite as easy as "lets move to Ireland!!" (tho I wish it was!!)

Whereabouts in Cheshire are you BTW?? I'm in Manchester/Cheshire (Sale). I'm having my treatment at Care in Manc. How about you??

To be honest with ya Macca, I'm sh*tting myself about the treatment. I don't cope with stress too well. I turn into Zena warrior princess when I'm stressed. (Minus the perfect body and gladiator costume!!)
I am going to stay as relaxed as I can though and just take it one day at a time. I am also gonna go to an accupuncturist which (apparently) increases success rates and helps with stress. I smoke too which isn't good but at the moment, fags is all I want!! I have cut down pretty drastically tho..

I hope you don't mind me asking, but has your consultant given you any reasons as to why you have miscarried?? Are there any tests they can give you to help your little emby stick?? Have you tried accupuncture and baby asprin, etc? Sorry, how nosey am I ????

Anyhoo, speak to you later Macca and other July girlies!!
