ANYONE AT ST MARYS, MANCHESTER

Post by Nicky Dean »

Hi everyone
I was last logged on back in may, just before I went on holiday and on my return was due to start treatment. But I had the worst holiday ever as I had a kink in my small bowel and had to have an operation while I was in portugal. We were only going for a week and I ended up spending 3 an half wks there, it was the most frightening experience but luckily it went OK, But the worst of it all is I have had to have my treatment but back as I have lost a lot of weight, so Im trying to put it on as quick as poss, I have also had a kidney transplant, so Im worried that has not suffered too much. In the end I have realised that if IVF doesnt work as long as my health is good, then I cant ask for more. Is there anybody who has had a transplant and is going through IVF at manchester?
Nicky xx

Hi Kathryn
Thanks for your reply and support, I think the hardest part now is trying to put the weight back on, especially all those cakes and visits to the chippy!!!!!
At least they are giving me chance to do IVF and not take me off, which was my main worry. Have you started your treatment?
Nicky xx

Hi Nicky

Blimey you have had a bad time of it haven't you, i think i posted you back in may to let you know i'm at St Mary's, when we went for our consultation they told me that i could not afford to lose any weight, so i just made sure i ate a few fattening things just because when i get nervous i can't eat and was worried about losing a bit of weight so ate like a pig for a bit and have now got used to going to the hospital so don't get as nervous, but still eat a bit like a pig anyway!!!!

We're on our 3rd iui at St Mary's, the first got abandoned due to too many follies, the 2nd was negative and we're now on the 2ww to see if 3rd time lucky for us!

Wishing you lots of luck with the ivf and if you need to ask anything about St Mary's just give me a shout and i'll try to help

Take care
Jackie
