Hello all,
Can anyone help? I've been trying to get my lining up to 9mm with estrace for the last 4 weeks for an FET. but for some reason i am not responding to the oral, vaginal and patch estroial and wanted to see if anyone here has experience same problem.
currently i'm taking 2 oral and 2 vaginal and 2 patches but my lining has not pass 3.70mm, the docs are telling me i might need an surrogot so i'm getting pretty scared and wanted to see why this is happening to me.
Sorry cant be of much help. but when you did a fresh cycle, did your lining become thick? If yes, I would think you should not have a problem this time.
Take care and good luck

no, my lining was still below normal. 7.1 was the highest. but higher than now 3.4.
the doctors are saying that my uterus is not obsorbing the estogen but my body estrogen level is high so they dont think i can get a positive and that i need to get a surrogot.
I have exactly this problem also after several attempts. I recently had two FET cycles cancelled because the lining wouldn't get beyond 4-5mm despite all injections, pills and patches. Finally they went ahead about 10 days ago with just one embryo despite the fact it was only around 5mm but it was a BFN as expected (though I was hoping for a miracle!!). My first one was successful last year but miscarried at 6 weeks likely due to the lining problem. Apparently this happens in some 5-10% of cases and there is no "cure" or solution. I read about some research giving women with this problem Viagra to increase blood flow to the uterus that was successful. The people that did the research were based at Sher Institute (www.haveababy.com) so I am now going to see these people for a second opinion, starting next week. We still have 6 frozen embryos.
If they give me any good information I'll definitely post it up here.
take care,

Hi, talk to your accupuncturist to see if they can help you. Normally, they give local treatment to help blood cerculation... I am not sure, but checking won't hurt ...Take care!!
hi ren and anamka,
i have been seeing and acupunctures but it has not help at all. i dont know if seeing an acupuntcure help but it didnt help me.
i read that sher was prescribing viagra for thin lining too.
so i hounded my doctor to prescribe it to me to see if it can help before she cancelled my FET cycle. she agreed to let me try this for a couple of days. i just started with the viagra suppositories today and have an appt to see the doc again on tues to see if viagra helped.
the thing with me also is that my body estrogen (e2) level was high (meaning my body is taking the estrogen) but the lining was thin. so that means my uterus was not reponding to the estrogen. but i still wanted to see if viagra would help. it cant harm you right?
i didnt take the estrogen injections, just the pills (orally and vaginally) and patches, with baby asprin. but still did not get pass 4mm.
have you taking the estrogen vaginally? because that better than orally.
if you want i'll let you know if the viagra help.
did the injections help you? how many estrogen pills and injection did you take?
on your fresh cycle how thick was your lining? did you take estrace with your fresh cycle. i didnt and mines got up to 7mm
i wonder why they cant do a natural FET. i'm going to ask my doctor that next time i see her.
i'm so glad you responded. and i know what you mean by "hoping for a miracle" i hope and think that every cycle. i think it's because people around you tell you to stay positive. but each time i go thru another cycle i get bad news. first i have block tubes, then i am premature menopausing, now my uterus isnt responding. makes you want to just give up. i'll talk to you later than.
hi there babiluv, thanks for that msg, it's comforting to hear there are others out there with equally stubborn uterus! I'd love to hear how you respond to the viagra...
I also was registering good estrogen levels in my blood that were just not equating to thick lining. I wasn't taking the estrogen vaginally but all the other methods had no marked effect (even injections). I was taking three pills a day and then plups either two patches every two days or an injection once a week.
I have never had a fresh cycle as had to leave the country right after EC so all our embryos were frozen immediately and now we're just doing FETs.
I know what you mean about wanting to give up but people do have miracles so try to hang in there. Perhaps this viagra will make the difference!
I'll let you know how SHER goes this afternoon.

ren,
good news, the viagra is helping but still low. but it did help. how did your apt go. i'm going to email you and give my email address so we can corrspond. i think we can help each other. i'm so glad you responded to this message.
I had this same problem with a FET in October and ended up having it canceled. We tried again this past month and my dr had my use a low dose of Gonal-F. My lining was between 9-10 when we had our transfer last week. Just a thought you may want to ask about. Good luck!!
I realize it's been a while since you posted, but how did the Gonal-F work out? Can you tell me the dosage you were given?
I've tried 5 months to get my lining out of the range of 5-6mm, but nothing has worked (estrace pills/suppositories/patch, viagra, acupuncture, herbal remedies, whole food diet with almost no caffeine or alcohol, uterine massage, chiropractor). I'm at my wits end.
My doctor takes a minimal medication approach (mini-IVF), so I feel I need to direct him correctly. Any advice/details that you could share would be appreciated.
So frustrating!!!
I had my first FET cycle, which was cancelled b/c my lining wouldnt thicken up. Despite 4 mg Estrace oral twice day, and 2 gm intravaginally three times per day. She then had be do Estradiol Valerate IM injection. Only thing it did was jack up my E2 levels, but made no difference to my lining.
I too have baseline high E2 levels, anovulation, 17-20 day menstrual cycles. I read somewhere about using Femara and HCG for FET's, specifically that it works with women with irregular cycles, whom do not ovulate. Can I a my lining was still below normal. 7.1 was the highest. but higher than now 3.4.
Getting frustrated with my REI, bc she is near refusing this out of the ordinary protocol. Any advice would be appreciated!
PS, this is my first infertility blog, and we have been TTC for 2 years.
