feeling low

Post by scooby »

hi,
Im feeling quite low today, i never realised the 2ww would be so bad. to top this off, i moved into a new house 2 weeks ago, which i know was bad timing and now my dad has ripped out my kitchen and putting a new one in, so the house looks like a bomb has hit it.

The hospital never gave me any do and dont's, so at the beginning of the week i had a bath, and now i have a lot of discharge.

I have not had any implantation symptons, no sore boobs, no cramps,( although down under is tingling) no spotting, has anyone else not had any symptons and got a BFP.my dh tells me not to worry, but thats easier said than done.

Im sorry im babbling.

I know im babbling but, i think im going mad.
thanks scooby

Hi Scooby.

I am no way near my 2ww yet. I've got my first consultation at Care in Mcr in 4 weeks, so we'll be starting ICSI in July.

I did want to reply though because your obviously feeling really low.

I really wouldn't worry about the bath. A lot of ladies on here have had a bath during their 2ww and have got a BFP. Some clinics tell you to avoid them, others say that it doesn't make a difference. I think it boils down to what makes you feel better during the 2ww.

I now its easier said than done (cos I'll probably be climbing the walls when its my 2ww too!) but try to relax. Get your DH to pick you up some new books or some DVD's. Listen to some relaxing music and try a bit of visualisation (this is really beneficial according to Zita West). Or, why don't you try some accupuncture. This is meant to be fab for relaxation and reducing stress and its also said to help with blood flow to the uterus. I'm going to be giving it a go during my 2ww.. :)

I really hope that you start to feel better and I'm keeping everything crossed for a BFP for you!!!! :D :D

Hi scooby

Sorry you are feeling quite low. This IVF lark is tough.
Although it was a year ago, I remember the 2ww been quite hard. I did rest the day after ET (mainly because I was still in pain following my EC) but then went back to work. I found keeping busy helped get me through it. I didnt do anything too physical during this time, but I certainly didnt do bedrest etc. As far as baths are concerned, I think people are advised to avoid them because of the temperature if they are too hot? My clinic also didnt give me any dos or donts as such. Personally and from reading other peoples experiences as well, I dont think a lot of what you do during the 2ww will affect the outcome - within reason of course!

As far as symptoms go, I had nothing apart from dizziness 2 days following transfer (not heard that from anyone else as a symptom of pregnancy so early on, so maybe it was stress!). I did start with AF cramps the day before my test, but otherwise all the nausea, sore boobs etc kicked in from 5 weeks of been pregnant. Lots of women have no symptoms and get a BFP, from what ive read on this website.
You're not going mad, its just a very difficult situation to be in. Try and keep busy. I found that helped me, if I had other things to concentrate on.

Good luck, wishing you all the best!

Hi Scooby,

Sorry to hear you're feeling down in the dumps. the 2ww is very hard to deal with.
I've been through two 2ww, both times I had cramping, but only on the second time I got a BFP.
My boobs were a bit sore on both 2ww but only after about five weeks pg on the second attempt did they really start hurting.
It's really hard to guage anything and although it's easier said than done (and I don't know why I'm dishing this advice out coz I'm the world's worst for analyzing every twinge) but try not to think about it too much.
Everyone experiences the 2ww differently. Some girls have all the signs and symptoms and get BFP's other's don't. And on the other hand many girls get BFPs without any signs whatsoever.
As for do's and don't my advice is do what YOU think is right for yourself.
My consultant said that nothing you do will make any difference whether the embryo will implant or not. He just said to look after yourself and use your common sense.
I miscarried on my second FET and I was beating myself up wondering what I did to cause it. But again the consultant said that once those embryos are safely tucked up inside, only nature will decide if they stay there or not.
Don't worry, it'll all be over before you know it and you'll be celebrating a BFP! Keep thinking positive! That's the best advice I think :)
Good luck,
Claire x
