Hi Ladies

Kat , you were right about QMH. I have just got back from my apptmt. Julie printed all my records off and handed them to me without a blink! They do make interesting reading. The dr was very supportive of our decision to go to Spain. The waiting list for donor eggs at the Bridge Centre in London is 18 months. QMH have agreed to do all my scans and visit the counsellor if I need to talk to someone during tmt. The apptmt went well with very little dwelling on the past tmt, although the dr still can't pinpoint why I respond so badly to all the meds they have given me. I just need to pay the bill for all the cancelled cycles now

Jo , great news. I hope your 2ww flies by and we will soon see you post a BFP! :)

Bev, hi, are you waiting for AF now? What is your schedule of events?...I am right behind you! Just off to book our flight to Barcelona. Any good ideas for an excuse not to be at work for a day?! Keep me posted of your progress, mega good luck with this cycle. It WILL be the ONE! :)

Hugs to all here
Bye for now

Jo good luck with 2ww wait, hope you will be posting a very big BFP!

Anna good luck in Barcelona I go for appointment here in May not too sure how it will go and whether my clinic will be foward at giving me any of my notes.

Bev hope AF gives its appearance at the best time possible for you to have your scan.

We have put off any decisions until after we have moved, had our follow up with consultant, started new job and little one has settled into new school. Dont think it would be wise to go through IVF with all that going on.

Jo,
You poor dear! They make you do your suppositories anally? That's worse than the suspense of the 2ww. It's awesome that you got 3 to transfer. I'm doing my best visual of the little guys (or gals) with picks and shovels. Hope time passes quickly.

I start Estradiol shots tonight. Started heparin this am so now up to 4 shots a day. Can't wait for the emotional lability of the Estradiol!

Debra,
At the moment i've forgotten what part of the globe your on but we had snow a few days ago that actually stuck and covered the ground. I think that was Saturday. Now today it's 78. Go figure. My tulips and daffodils are SOOO confused.

Hope everyone I missed is doing well and moving ahead.

Hello Ladies:

Lara: I was saddened to hear your news. It does get easier.

Kacey: Sorry to hear your news.

Darby: Welcome to the site and congrats on your BFP.

Jo: Good luck on your 2ww wait. I think I'd opt for the anal supp. over the shots in the butt any day!! Those nasty shots got old really fast.

Lisa: It is so good to see that you are in much better spirits. Are you still proceeding with the foster child, or are you waiting for your frozen cycle?

Anna: Good luck with your next cycle in Spain.

Bev: Good luck with you

Randa: How is your cycle coming along?

Good luck to all the other ladies waiting to start their meds. We still need to have our post-IVF conference with our doctor. We need to decide if we want to do a frozen cycle. as we have 4 frozen eggs. I want to get our adoption paperwork sent to China before we decide what to do with the frosties. I'm hoping to get it sent sometime next month. We are waiting for our fingerprinting appointment.

We had wonderful weather here today, as it was 76 deg. F !!

Take care all,
Tammy

Jo,
What a great story! Thanks for sharing all the details of your magnificient EC and ET. I'm very optimistic for you. The cell counts sound excellent! Very good that you are taking off work. Please continue to keep us posted as we near your test date.

Tammy,
Wow! You have really bounced back. I'm so impressed by your attitude. One little Chinese baby is going to be soooooo lucky to have you for a Mommy! (And I know you might still be fortunate enough to have one with your frozens too.) You just have so much positive energy going on in spite of a set back. You make me smile. :D

Anna,
Same to you... the donor egg route may be in our future as well and it helps to see you are totally embracing it. I wish the process was more simple, but you are even dealing well with that (18 months to wait! how young do they think we are?). Spain it is! So if I understand correctly, they will have the donor eggs ready when you arrive for a May 3 transfer?

Good luck tomorrow, Yasmina! BFP!

Tammy,
Still anxiously awaiting a foster baby while proceeding with FET. China adopt isn't looking good financially as we owed the IRS a great deal this year in taxes and so have no hopes of raising that kind of money before hubby turns 29.5 when we could start the process.
Yasmina,
Waiting to hear good news from you.
More later, much to do today...have to start with my run. The sun is out and it's there's still a chill in the air. Perfect time!

Hello Ladies:

Randa: Thanks for your thoughtful words and compliments. :) I do feel great. I am a big believer in fate. I was telling DH that there is some Chinese mother out there who has either just given up our Elena or is pregnant with her now. If we would have gotten pregnant with our last IVF, we would have had to postpone the adoption..................and therefore someone else would have gotten our Elena.
There is a Chinese proverb that I really like, it goes something like:......................."An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle but never break." I would like to try the frosties later, but not until we have the adoption paperwork well on its way.

Lisa: I hope a foster baby is on his/her way soon. I am hoping you will get a baby that you can adopt. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your frosties too. Don't give up on China. We have been in the process since January and have only spent about $2000 thus far. We have to send another $3000 with our dossier when it goes to China next month. We will not need the remainder for another year, when we actually travel to China. This gives us an entire year to save up the remaining $$$. Also, you get a $10,600 adoption tax credit in the year that you adopt. You could always borrow the last chunk and then pay off the loan when you get your $10,600 back from the IRS. Luckily, we do not owe any taxes this year, as I had over $18,000 of health care costs to deduct!

Yasmina: Good luck to you. Welcome to our site, if I have not already greeted you. You will find that there are a wonderful bunch of ladies here.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi ladies, hope all OK today
Just a quickie, Randa, our apptmt in Barcelona is an initial consultation. From what I understand the schedule is as follows-
On 3rd May they will take a semen sample to freeze and match us with a donor. (physical characterisitics etc) They also check all blood tests and do an u/s to check all my girlie bits are in the right place etc.. The donor then takes stimms and I take bc pills to synchronise our cycles. Then when eggs are ready we go back for ET. The whole process takes about 6 weeks, assuming a donor is found straight away. Phew......we booked our flights and hotel last night. it's all getting very 'real'...does that sound silly? Don't know whether to be excited or terrified! It's roller coaster time again!

Sorry, no time for personals at moment. Have been reading all the news though, good luck to all at whatever stage of tmt /process you are at. Hugs to all here xx

Hi, I know we need some good news in this group, yet, I have to report that my test result is not as good as I hoped for. I swear that I could see a faint line in the EPT or HPT, yet the dr. office said there was no mistake, a negative is a negative. I need to stop all the hormones that I am taking and need to call them back when I come to next period to arrange another FET! Sorry ladies, I have not been able to lift up your spirits, I truely hoped that I could beat the odds!

Children,
I'm sorry to hear your news. You are among friends who know too well your disappointment and I hope that helps a little. Sounds like you are up for another try already and that is a good sign. Keep trying - that's how we beat the odds!

Hi Randa and Anna,

Thanks for your encouragement and I am going on rock climbing this weekend with my DH to get my mind off the topic for a while.

I have a friend (asian) of my age who just got twin with IVF and another who is 45 (caucacian) had a boy last year with natural route, she found out that on the way to sign up for adoption! She said she had several mc before this boy and she thought that she would not be able to carry anyone to term, but she did it, naturally! I have also another friend she was born when her mother was 49 – again naturally! So, why should we give up? We just have less possibility, but we are not hopeless! I feel like in casino, you never hit the jackpot unless you have lost enough money! I think Lara should continue trying also, she could check the chromosomal abnormalities before the transfer – of course, and this costs money too ($2000/cell in the US)! DE will be my next round of trying after using all my embies (I have 13 left in freezer). I also would suggest us senior ones to try blastocyst transfers (day 5) instead of embie (day 3) transfers - that will give us clearer ideas about whether our embies could survive to that point. I will discuss this with my doctors next time around – if I actually can see them at all. By the way, I found two girls who are using the same clinic of mine, I found them from another website which I could not activate my account. Are you here, Cozumel and Wendy? I am using FCOSA with Drs. Martin and Neal. During the last 6 months, I saw them each twice and never spoke to them more than 1 min, except the day 1 (consultation day) and last day (ET day).

Anyway, let’s continue trying and let’s prepare for the worst but hope for the best!!!

Lastly, question for all of you, how could I list my little history automatically without going back to find, copy and paste it to new messages?

Just wanted to say Happy Easter to everyone! The weather has been so beautiful even with the afternoon spring showers here and all my bulbs from last fall came up. The distraction and the beauty of them has been great for my frame of mind. (of course the therapy has to be a part of that too) So far so good with the EV shots. No emotional outbursts yet and feeling pretty well. Kind of quiet here. Any good news out there?
