Hi Sharon and everyone else

What a good idea! I'm Ella and am 31, DH is 43. We have been TTC for 4 years. I have endo and DH has slight motility problems.

This is our 1st attempt at IVF(we may have ISCI, depending on DH's count on the day!). I did start down reg last Christmas but the cycle was abandoned when polyps were found. They have now been removed and I'm injecting Buserelin(mood swing city!), I have my pre-stim scan booked for 5th August, so hopefully EC will be mid/late August.

I've never been pregnant, so I'm waiting to see if fertilization is actually possible. Trying to keep a PMA!

Take care and good luck

Ella

Hello

I'm Sam and I'm 29 my DH is 38.
DH had cancer ten years ago - the treatment made him infertile but he was organised enough ( although not in the mood!) to have some sperm stored before the treatment started so we are using that.
We have had three icsis since last October all of which I had a positive HPT on day 14 after EC which then faded away.
I am at the Lister in London who have established I have raised active natural killer cells so next go I will be takin steroids.
We have decided to plump for FET in August so just waiting for AF to start..
Hi Eveyone,

I'm Lynne 32 years, dh 34 years. Try to concieve for over 4 years.
I have mild endo and dh has low sperm count. First go at IVF, tried 3 cycles of clomid but had bad side effects and stopped.
Started Gonal-F injections yesterday, scan to check follies next Friday and hopefully all going well ec and et w/e 8th August. Treatment at Ninewell's Dundee.

Good luck everyone
Love Lynne
Hi Everyone

Its is great to have some history on you all.

I am 32 and my partner is 42, we are doing a second round of ICSI treatment at John Radcliffe Oxford, had one failed attempt a year ago, just starting sniffing yesterday, EC will be w/c 25 August if all goes well, feel really really positive this time. I'm having the maximum dose of drugs as did not really take too well with treatment as high FSH for someone of my age, I am hoping to have 3 Emb's this time, again if all goes well!!

My partner had a vasectomy 11 years ago and then had testicular cancer 5 years ago. He had a Pesa where they take sperm from his remaining testical with a needle, so we have his sperm in freezing!

Wishing everybody lots and lots of luck, thinking of you all

Take Care

Lots of Love

Marteen
xxx

[Edited by MARTEEN on 26-Jul-03 12:51]
Hiya buddies
I'm Roberta 32 and dh is 36.
We've been ttc for just over 6 years now.
Been down the clomid route. Had laparoscopy 4 years ago and they said tubes were knackered but some 'wise' doctor said he could fix them!!! Had laparotomy and 3 month of work and it didnt work - obviously. So had major surgery for nothing. I have PCOS, endo, fibroids, the whole kit and kaboodle.
We had our 1st IVF in Jan and it was abandoned as understimulated. They said my ovaries were like those in someone in there 40's! We are on 3 times higher dose this time. Have my first follie checking scan on Tuesday. They havent mentioned when ec is but I would guess (touch wood we'll get to it this time,) that it will be w/e 4th Aug.
We are at Leeds.
luv to you all.
Bertie x

Hi everyone,

Im Nicola im 30yrs and my dh is 39yrs. We've been ttc for 5 years.
Although my dh has a 10 year old son from a previous marriage he now has a low sperm count and problems with motility and morphology, hence our trouble conceiving naturally, also i have slight endreometreosis.
We had our 1st attempt at icsi in Nov last year which unfortunately was negative, we had four frosties and i am currently in the process of injecting suprefact for FET, i should of started taking progynova tablets on wed but my lining was still to thick (sorry to be graphic) so ive got another scan next tues and if everything is ok i can start my tablets and then my et is due to take place on 15th August, don't feel to positive as i no that the sucess rate is lower with FET but reading some of the other threads gives me some hope.
Good luck to everyone, fingers and everything else crossed
Take care
Nicola xxx

Hi I normally go by Caz but you already had one so called myself Cazzy. Sorry this will be an epic to explain,

My husband and I have been trying for 10 years

I have crohns disease but with the help of fertility treatment (not IVF) got pregnant 4 times (about 2 years between each as was pregnant before we married ). Each time I obstructed (bowel stops - required major surgery) and lost the baby - the last 4 years ago (a little girl).

This resulted in the bowels sticking to the ovary and they thought this was the reason I wasn't getting pregnant. 1 week before sugery in Dec last year (to seperate the abdo mass) they did a few bloods and found I was early pre men. FSH of 28. It was a huge shock , they cancelled the operation saying there was no point as I would never become pregnant with an FSH that high. I was gutted.

It has taken me since then to find a clinic who would work with me. I just want a chance of IVF. A last chance of having our own baby. We have been refused adoption due to my illness. I know it's a long shot and getting pregnant is only the start of the complications but I want this so badly I need to do it one last time. We had a miracle FSH of 8.2 this month so that has raised my chances a little although the clinic has said they have never had a pregnancy with such a high FSH. (Apparently you are only as good as your highest but I don't understan that).

I am currently sniffing and starting injections tomorrow -- I have a question if that's OK and would really appreciate feedback.

Thanks and sorry for the long post.
Cazzy

I had my basline scan Thursday -- everything was OK to start the injections Sunday.
One thing we were unsure about -- the nurse said it's best to have the injection in the morning but as my hubby leaves for work at 6am and we have 6 amples it would be easier in the evening. )Hope he gets better as didn't do too well with the water - lol's)

Does this make a huge difference.

Would be really interested to hear when you guys think as we are first timers.

Thanks for your other replies , I'm feeling much better although weight is a problem with the old crohns so they are a little worried . Currently 7 stone 8 and five foot 6 So eating as much as I can force down me.

Hope everyone esle is doing OK, haven't been too bad on the sniffing so far .

Good Luck All
xxxxxx

Hiya all
Went for scan this morning and complained over doctor (thats another story). She was ignorant and wouldnt tell us anything. Normally when they are scanning they tell us whats on the screen but when I asked her questions she told me to be quiet cos she was measuring!!

Anyway, we've got 5 follies on one side and 6 on other!! YIPPEE!! They are very small though. They took some blood and I have to ring this aft and see whether to 'up' my dose or not.

As said before, our last one was abandoned. We only had 3 follies then so we are chuffed that we have 11.

As they say - 'from little acorns grow big trees'.
Hope my little acorns keep growing. PMA PMA

Hope everyone is PMA'ing. Good luck to all.
luv
Bertie x

Hi evryone,

Bertie; glad your scan went ok sounds like you will be fine this time. I have my 1st scan tomorrow. When have you got to go back for another one?

Sharon G XXXXXXXXXX
Hi everyone,
I did post my background info but it seems to have got lost in the crash so briefly - Me 34 soon & DH 35. Were 'unexplained' till we had our first IVF, in which none of the eggs fertilised. It seems that DH's sperm & my eggs don't like each other. We've had 3 other attempts with ICSI and have had 2 embies put back each time but all been -ve. We've moved clinics recently for this attempt, which may be our last (who knows - I've said that before).

Anyway went for a scan today, day 7 of Gonal-f, have about 6 follies on one side and about 4 on the other, which are all small at the moment but hopefully will get bigger. Its been the same on each cycle but I always feel a bit disappointed when they say they are small - I think I expect too much too soon and should really know better by now.

Bertie - well done, its such a good feeling when you get over each hurdle this treatment throws at you. Keep up the PMA and those follies will keep growing.

Hope everyone else is doing ok with their sniffing & jabbing.

Keep in touch and let us know how you are all doing.

Gill
xxxx

Hi everyone!

Will give you a brief background and try not to bore everyone, some people may already know this. Am a bit of an old timer now, with a lot of people on the other side!
Am 32, DH 31. Have PCOS and DH has low sperm count. Tried clomid but no go, so had 1st ICSI in July 2002 - overstimulated with 40 eggs collected! Had 10 embies frozen and no transfer. Had FET in December 2002 - pg but miscarried at 10 weeks (didn't develop properly so the size of 6 weeks foetus, no heartbeat). Took a while to get over, due to had an infection so bled constantly for nearly 3 months!
Am now in the middle of our 2nd FET and went for Day 8 scan today - womb lining nice and thick (10.4mm) and ET is due on Wed 6th Aug with testing on 22nd Aug. They are going to defrost all 6 but put back only 2, so if this fails need to go through full cycle again.
Luckily we have NHS funding in our authority (live in Grimsby, but go to St James, Leeds) so the financial pressure is off us. So unfair that not everyone is so lucky though!

Wish me luck - gestone injections start on Sunday - am starting to get scared now!

Good luck to everyone. Bertie - are you at St James or LGI?

Take care. Michelle
