I am sorry your iui did not work this time.
I have to wait a month inbetween iui's aswell with my new hospital but I dont see them again till may.Its the waiting all the time that drives you crazy. Good luck

You are more than welcome to join and you will get tons of support here. Try to stay postitve. Most Doc's say you should try 4 IUI's. Best of luck to you and just try to stay positive...
Did they put you on BC pills.. That was the most frustrating thing to me was due to left over follies they put me on the pill but it does clear you out for your next attempt..

I'm still gettting used to this board, so forgive my slowness in responding...

I was not put on BCP for the watiting period before our next IUI. That's an interesting concept. But I realized this morning that due to some travel plans for next month, we may have to wait ANOTHER month to try the second IUI. Well, in the meantime, I'm going to start charting just to see what that is all about. I just learned about the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and it's interesting at least to learn about the physiology of it all.

I'm just having a hard time emotionally right now with any reference to babies, children, families...eesh...this blows.

That is a great book.. This is a hard time for anyone to have to go through. I have not read of anyone flying through this process with all positivity. You will find lots of the books do say to do your best to stay positive. The BCP were a blow to me at first.. I kept thinking ok the last thing I want to do is to prevent pregnancy so not only do I have to take a month off but I have to be on the pill. There goes all the chances of this happening naturally.. I also have heard yoga really helps and accupuncutre.. I have not tried either but I have heard good things with both of those

You know, my RE offers free yoga classes. I'm going to check it out. The exercise, commraderie, mental relaxations of it.....all good things.

I bet that was a blow to be put on BCP. I think we all hope that it will happen naturally, especially during those waiting periods. I was just told another story of someone trying IVF 5 times only to get pregnant naturally afterwards. Life is weird.

I have heard lots of those stories too.. I dont know how that works.. I know some of it has to be stress but I can not imgaine 5 IVF's who the heck could afford that mentally and finacially..we will be trying the one time.. but it only takes one time right.

I thought I would bring this thread back upto the top as I am sure that I am not the only one going through IUI at the moment and I find it is nice that we have got our own home here.

I am waiting for AF to start. It is day 28 tommorow, but I usually only go 26 or 27 days so it is starting to look a bit late for me, probably a side effect of all the meds I have had over the last few months.

Is anyone else having IUI at the moment that would like to share their experiences.

Will be off line tommrow and monday as away for a couple of days but will post again on Tuesday.

Hi angela, I am on Day 31 today (late) but know it' coming very soon, as feeling hormonal and had a few brown smudges, I always do before AF fully starts to flow....

I wont start IUI til end of June......Im doing it with clomid this time, all other times were natural cycle xxx

Well AF still hasn't arrived and it is day 28. I have had a month off this month and have had some strange symptoms which I mentioned to my GP on 2 seperate visits but he says that as I had AF 28 days ago I was not pregnant. I didn't do a test as I am paranoid about them.I have done so many over the years that have all been negative I sort of have an aversion to them. Now I am wondering, was AF normal last time and I can't seem to remember. I think it was. I have decided now that if AF doesnt arrive tommorow I will test as I am never late and normally go 26 or 27 days.

I am going away this afternoon until Tuesday but will let you know how I get on.

Hi girls, I didn't know there was an IUI thread?!!??

I'm Emma and I had my first IUI on sat 29th after clomid. We have been TTC for 4 years and all tests have come back normal. This is our first experience with ART.

Just a question, after the IUI, the doc just said "OK preg test in 2 weeks" and left. So I guess thats just a pee-stick one then is it? Or do I need to arrange for a blood test? It was a sat morning and he was on his way to his daughter's hockey game, so he was in a rush.

Hello all!

I'm moving around after getting a BFN on a may April/May IVF cycle last week. DH and I have decided to hold off on another IVF until the fall.

I'm hoping you IUI ladies can answer some questions for me. DH and I did some (3) IUI's about 2 years ago with Clomid only. We had 3 BFN's. DH has had a VasReversal that worked ok. His count fluctuates. For the IVF he had 4 million after the wash. Here's my question. Do you think it's worth trying a couple IUI's during our IVF downtime? Is there any chance at all with a 4 million count? And should I talk to DR. about a medicated cycle? Perhaps if I was taking some Gonal and had a trigger shot of hcg we could time it better. On my other cycles they didn't do any scans. Just had me pee on stick and tell them when my surge was.

Any advise would be appreciated. We are kind of floundering around trying to decide what to do next.
