Hi Ilona (beautiful name by the way!)

I read about your cramping. How are you doing?

I have been having mild cramping too. Sometimes down both sides but mainly one side or the other, bad backache and a small amount of pink spotting. Getting terrified. Bawled my eyes out today! I want to banish all negative thoughts but finding it hard. I rested this pm and the cramping tailed off, no more spotting (just once this morning).

So hoping we both make it. Woishing you tonnes of luck. I think you test before me don't you? (Tues 25th officially, but will do one probably on Friday)

Hi Caty,

I was suprised to see the post :D , yes, I was hopeing to feel something at least it would give me hope that bennie might still be with us, but the cramping started to really worry me on Sunday night, it tailed off when I went to bed, and I only had a small amount on Monday, so I started to feel alot better in myself. The tiredness has really suprised me, can't seam to walk to far, and started being really ratty tonight, then felt emotional.
This morning I was stood at the kitchen window, thinking if it was a BFP how to tell my parents, that set me off again.
I test on Monday and I bought a really cheap hpt test today, just to see if anything showed up on it, nothing did, but its far to early, I wouldn't have dared do a one like first response, as a negative on that would have killed me, and that would have been to early too, plus a waste of good money.
I have read my leaflets again from the hospital and it says that the cramping around the ovarie area could also be the ovaries settling down, my cramping pains have been more central.
I also had been on a UK IVF site, I think I might have seen your name on there, but I have given that up, as no one seems to replie.

Please let me know how you get on, and how you are feeling,
It makes the time go a little faster.

I have now decided not to do a hpt the day before, as I will only have to tell hubby, and if its negative, I will have him down in the dumps all day, so I am going to leave it to the official blood test.

Wishing you lots of luck

Ilona

Hi Ilona

I think I know the site you mean :D .

Well no more spotting and the pain settled but again I am back at my desk and the cramping is starting.

So you are 12dpt today, right? What iu of HCG was the test you did? I have just had an Early detection preg test in front of me. I have played with it for 15 mins now I have hidden it between some books. I am SOOOOOO tempted today, even though I don't really feel that positive.

I am 11dpt (13dpo/c). It's killing me now. I kind of want to know but don't! You know what I mean?

So you are going to step away from the tests until Monday? Do you get a beta from your clinic? My clinic used to ask you to go in for a blood test and it was a simple yes or no answer - never got beta numbers like some of the girls here do. This time they have told me that I can either go in or I can just do an HPT, which they reckon is just as reliable (I always thought a blood test could detect lower levels than any HPT???)

Keep in touch as you say chatting to people in the same boat helps opass the time. God it's dragging more than ever this time........ARGH! :x

Hi Guys,

Hope you don't mind me barging in on your posts......

I know it sounds funny but its so good to read about people in a similar boat! I have had cramping on an off for the last couple of days (I am 7 days post transfer). The cramping was very central but now seems to be in the ovary area - its less today than yesterday.

I also have a Hpt in my bottom drawer - its been there about 3 months and so far I haven't even dared to look at it - I haven't even opened the drawer in case the temptation is too much - last cycle I did the tests way too early and they cost me a fortune.

Good luck with the rest of the 2WW!

Hey Sammylou

I had to smile reading your post. You're right, it is heart-warming to realise that you are not the only one. Not that I would wish anyone to have to go through this, but it is nice to have fellow IVFers to moan/vent and generally talk to.

Step away from that HPT you or I'll shoot! Have you been on eBay to buy your HPTs. I bought about 50 early detection (no sure how good they are because never had positive...but then not been pg when using them...so who knows if they actually work!). Needless to say, I only have 2 left. LOL....how out of control am I?

Hi Caty,

Haven't been on ebay myself for them - I bought the one in the drawer about 3 months ago when I thought I may have conceived naturally (AF arrived almost as soon as I had entered my pin number at the checkout)!!!! Fleeced again!!!!

Last cycle I tested early and it was negative - I then cried myself through the remaining days and the final test was also negative - the only thing was, that I had been soooo upset that I wasn't sure if I could have caused the BFN through all the stress. It is so hard to keep away though......

I was trying to explain to my best friend earlier that I want to be sick (I don't actually feel sick) its just that if I was puking up then it might be morning sickness - madness arghhhhhh!

How many days until you can test?

Yeah, she's a crafty Mother that AF. I am sure she watches and waits for you to open up an HPT, as soon as you pee, she shows her ugly mug!

I am not sure when I can test to be honest. Clinic wants me to test on Tues 25th (17dpt) but so many people test earlier than that. I know the hcG will be out of my system now so I shouldn't get a false positive. I think I could do it on Friday/Sat (13/14dpt). Some of the US girls test earlier than that don't they?

With my son I tested about 3 days earlier than the clinic suggested I think. So maybe Saturday (if I can hold out).

Hi girls. I don't mean to barge in either - but I was in your places last week on the 2ww. I have already posted this a couple of times and maybe you have already read it - but I want to tell you that I had AF cramping from the time of my EC to 2 days before my test day. I was almost sure AF was coming. And I got a BFP. I am only 5 weeks but I still get on and off cramping which is completely normal. I had occasional crampy/twingy feelings in my ovaries too.

I took an early HPT the night before I was due to test, and I tested 9 days post transfer, 14 days post retrieval. It was a First Response and it showed up positive - but the line was so faint I almost couldn't see it until I held it under the light. Still - I have read about several girls who took an HPT, got a negative, then went on to get a BFP on their test day. Hang in there!

And don't the cramping discourage you - its probably a good sign b/c implantation causes cramping.

I was in your shoes last week and I know how desperate I was to know what was going on -so i am crossing my fingers for you all!

GOOD LUCK!! :D

Hi Lisa

Thanks for that. With my son it was exactly as you describe. My problem this time is that I have had the tiniest amount of pink spotting. I mean really small, not on tp at all just on underwear. But this has happened 4 times (on 4 separate days). Today it is less but more browny. It is not the same as when AF is on her way but it is similar to how it was when I conceived naturally but then m/c. As you can tell I am all over the place.

Hi Guys!

You mad me laugh! AF is a complete nightmare!

Thanks for the message about cramping Lisa - it does reassure somewhat! Here is another question - I seem to be getting nasty spots (tmi) I normally get those in the run up to AF - anyone else suffering from them?

Are we talking about spots on your face? LOL sorry if that's a daft question. I am so wrapped up in my 'pink spotty' underwear at the mo! :)

Hormonal changes cause all that. I have it every time when I stim. Nightmare.

Hi Girls,

Just wanted to share some info.....I haven't experience spotting but what you describe 'could' be implantation spotting.....of course nothing is a guarantee.....I got some acne just before testing and I had AF like cramps - my cramps turned out to be digestion slowing down and some lovely constipation - I also had pains on the right which is round ligament pain - which I ONLY get when I am pregnant.....These things are all normal but unfortunately inconclusive as they are similar to all the signs for AF....Hang in there!!! I tested 9 dpo to make sure that the trigger shot was out of my system (so yes I expect the first test to be negative) and then I usually test the day before or day of blood test.....I use first response, perform the test and walk away - I don't come back for 5 minutes....but PLEASE NOTE if you do not test early to make sure the trigger shot is out of your system - you could get a false positive....The trigger shot remains in your system anywhere from 5-14 days....It sounds good for you girls but I don't want you to be crushed either - stay guarded!!!

Here is some irony for you - I always had clear skin as a teenager. When I hit the age of 25, I started getting breakouts around the time I would ovulate. Usually nothing bad - a little make-up would usually cover them up but sometimes they would be big and painful and stick around for weeks. About a week or so after I started Lupron - my skin was the clearest it has been since I was in my early twenties. And I still have not had one blemish. Weird isn't it?

I guess we really are all very different. :)

Thanks Jamato and Lisa. You give some really useful advice. My pain is sort of all around my back, hip and slightly into the lower abdomen. But the underwear spots have gone a bit more brownish. I am so clutchimng at straws right now! Wish I had a crystal ball (or do I?).

This thread is really making me smile. Loving the polka dot trend you've started Sammylou!!! LOL.
