Hi ladies,

Well what a day, first day back at work, and I cracked up, got upset at the slightest thing and cried my eyes out, I was so embarassed, as my boss went on the hunt for tissues. She has spent the rest of the day trying to be really nice to me, as I was so close to walking out.

I am also bloated today, walking round holding my stomach.

I have worked it out that I am 7 days post transfer, embie will be 9 days, if I had transfer on the 12th, so even doing that cheap test would not have shown anything up yesterday. Am I right with my dates?

Caty when did you have your transfer?

When I do my bloods by my dates I will be 12 days post transfer, and embie would be 14 days.

I have had a bit more cramping today but only slightly, to the left today,
I just hope I can get through the rest of the week, and don't end up throwing the towel in at work, only two more days at work to go, so fingers crossed.

I was so pleased to come home and get on the site, it made me laugh to see your posts, thanks for cheering me up. :D

Sammylou, you crack me up!

Ilona, this is such a tough thing to go through. I work from home so am lucky that I can shed my tears privately but please don't be embarrassed. Most people would react the same in your shoes (you can see from the posts here that we are all suffering this mental torture!). Your boss sounds nice; it's good that she is so understanding.

It's strange you had your transfer 4 days after me, but you test a day earlier. My transfer was on 8th, test 25th. MY cramping has eased again tonight but the change in colour of the spots (I am saying spots instead of spotting, as they really are just that) is concerning me!!!

Try and stick it out for the next two days. Monday will be here in no time. I'm here almost all the time if you need to chat!!

Hi,
SOooooooooooooooo glad Im not on my own,

I dread to think what I am going to do at work tommorrow, watch this space!
Image

Its also funny when you have been off work for nearly 2 weeks and you only work in a small office, how strange it is that some people don't even ask how you are doing? and one pearson I was talking to the other week asked how I went on, and was suprised when I said I was still doing the IVF, his reply was, I thought it only was a day thing!!!!!

Caty- what do you think to this one, I think it says it all

I think that's the biggest problem, people genuinely don't have a clue about IVF and what's involved. Did you see the BBC drama a few weeks ago. God that made me mad. I know there are extremes of cases but for the sake of dramatisation I think they showed IVF in a bad light.

Some of my friends are lovely and understanding but if I ever go into any detail (which is rare and only with a couple of close friends) they are gobsmacked at the early morning daily trips for bloods and scans, the jabs, surgery, replacement, tww. Not a clue, but then why would they? It amazes me that anyone ever gets pg when you think what actually has to happen! Blows me away.

Ilona, where did you get the mad cow?...I want it...lol

You'll be fine tomorrow. The sooner you get there, the sooner you get home, and one more step closer to Monday!

TWW Madness

Post by Daniella »

Hi Mitzi,

Sorry I havn't been in touch. I am also doing the dreaded tww. I test on Tuesday. Also feeling a bit like you all, desperatley trying to keep it together. I try not to think about it and am busy getting on with everthing I normally do, with the exception of Hot baths, Motorbike riding, and lifting heavy things. I find it best to keep busy and try to not focus on the scary test date. I am however taking Tuesday off work so I can do what ever I need to do in private, and not at work.

I think that the best advice i have had so far, was right after they put my two embabies back. "There is nothing you can do that will affect the outcome of the test, they either stick or they don't" God I hope they stick!! I hope all your embabies stick around.

I am so scared about how I will react, dreading waiting for that phone call. I think you are all right, no one really understands how difficult this is.
Any way on a lighter note, I love the fancy smiles, I will have to look once I get home as I daren't download anything at work.

Oh I know there was something I wanted to ask. How do I get one of those ticker thingies????? someone please tell me. I want one too!!!

Speak to you all soon.

Hi Daniella,

So pleased to see your post,Image glad to hear you had 2 embies put back, I had only 1. I only want 1 so fingers crossed.

How many eggs did they get, and did you have any to freeze?

The ticker is from the tickerfactory, and its so easy to do, I think there are a couple of threads on the general forum about how to do it.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you go on.

Ilona.

Hi all,

Just thought I would say thanks for the "hi"

Mitzi in answer to your question, here are the details.

EC 15 eggs
Fertalised 7
3 of the 7 got two sperm in so they had to be thrown away.
So left with 4.
All 4 divided to 4 cell stage ok, but had two good ones, so those were the ones they put back.

I am getting more and more nurotic by the day (Spelling getting worst too), just want to be Tuesday, so I can get on....sounds bad huh, but this is pure torchure. No matter what the out come, I know that If we get the BFP it will be great, but then you have got the next stage, another wait to see if your FSH levels have risen, then the first scan and so it goes on. I am trying so hard to just focus one step at a time but I can' help but think about the what if's. I am sure that you are all the same. Oh well, we will just have to wait and see. Sorry I am being depressing.

So what are we all doing on the weekend. DH is working Sat Morning so I am planning a very lazy morning in bed with my book. Other than that got nothing exciting planned.

Good luck Caty and Mitzi and all of you testing next week. I sure that we are all going to be OK. My thoughts are with you all.

Hi again,

Daniella, 15 eggs that was great, it certainly worked putting up your gonal f, I am so pleased for you,

Great that both you and caty are testing on the same day, lets hope its double congrats! :D

I am going to do very little, I have found that I cant lay in anymore, since I stopped having a drink, I think I might get up early on sunday and go to the boot sale in Halifax. Then when I get back I will put lots on ebay, that will keep me busy for a while, plus make a few pounds at the same time.

Tonight I had a right scare, had some terrible Af cramps pains and thought that was it, but the pain seemed to go as fast as came, and then have spent the rest of the night going to the loo, anyway so far so good, everything is ok.

If this IVF as taught me anything, its that I don't need to have any alcohol, I am much better without it, and I am going to keep it that way, even if the IVF doesn't work, with one exception, my 40th in a couple of weeks, if it works then its a dry 40th for me. :D

Hi ladies,

I hope you are are all feeling ok, I have had a better day today, and stopped crying! Image

One thing I have noticed since I went back to work on Wednesday is that when I am sat down I am fine, but when I get up to walk around then the cramps start low down in the middle. As anyone else noticed this ? I just think this is a bit odd.

Just going to sort the tea out and will be back later.

Mitzy - I had the exact same thing. When I would sit or lay down, no cramps. Then as soon as I would start moving, they would come back.

This could be a good sign for you!
