Hi all,

Haven't posted on this thread for a while. Really hard trying to keep up.
It's nice to see so many BFP and some LFP's too. Congratulations ladies.
I really hope it continues when I do mine in July. This will be my last go unless I get some frosties.
I've got loads going on this year, Two weddings in Ireland, christenings and a trip to Skiathos thrown in to measure. I'm also hoping to go back to NYC for a weekend for my birthday in October. (Same day as Lisa B's I think, 21st October) and my husband wants us to visit his son in Sydney in the New Year.

Don't know how the IVF will fit in but I'm going to try my hardest. I'm 37 this year and haven't really time to mess about.

Lots of baby dust to the newcomers, the 2wwers and the pregnant ones.

Hello everyone!!!

Just returned from Spain -- it was a much-needed getaway for DH and myself. Lots of walking about and soaking in the wonderful atmosphere and sights, as well as indulging in a quite a few amazing, amazing meals, from incredibe tapas and delicious rioja to decadent hot chocolate and even more decadent churros.

I seem to have missed a lot of activity on this thread whilst away and have just quickly read through to catch up on the news. First, congratulations to all the BFPs!!! And welcome to all the newbies! Am keeping my fingers crossed for all the injectors and 2ww-ers -- I began injecting on Friday and had my first scan this morning. They said the little follies are developing so we're off to a good start.

LisaB75 -- SO SORRY to have been away during your 2ww but I am now back and am anxiously awaiting to hear the outcome of your test. (Was confused by the last posting -- did you find out yet????) Your nausea sounds very, very promising! :D

Lisa/Macca -- I hear you about the busy travel schedule and IVF my friend! (And I'm turning 37 this year too...). I've had to cancel two trips to accommodate this cycle (one for work, another for my 20th high school reunion!) and may have to cancel one more. Of course, if all goes well, it will all be worth it!

Danielle -- Hang in there! Here's hoping that LFP blossoms into a BFP -- sending lots of baby dust your way.

Niccy -- Good luck with the start of injections tomorrow! I'm just a few days ahead of you so hoping we can keep each other company on the 2ww.

Sammy -- keeping fingers crossed for your good looking little embie! Please take it as easy as you can -- any way you can take a few days off of work and just keep your feet up?

Angela -- Breathing problems -- oh honey, please take care! And yes, sometimes it is just as important to take a break from all the IVF stuff, including this great support network. We'll be here whenever you need us again!

MLG -- you sounded a bit down on your last post. Am sending you lots of postive vibes and hoping and praying that all goes well with your levels!

Okay, that's it for now -- big hellos to everyone I missed! And speaking of everyone, did the entire thread take off for Easter? Jan? I12b? Traci? How are you guys?!!!

xx to all!

Thought I would add some celebrity gossip to entertain everyone.

Soooo...."tomkitten" has been born! For those of you who may have missed it, Katie Holmes gave birth to a 7 lb. baby girl. She and Tom have decided to name her Suri. According to the Guardian (really, I did not see this in People or in Hello!), their baby was born (ironically, given Tom's public spat with her) on the same day as Brooke Shields' baby #2.

Hi sml - welcome back! This thread has been very, very lonely lately! I have to clear out the cobwebs before I can post. Thanks for the congrats - I have been feeling great other than expected tiredness and very sore, sore boobs. But I am loving every minute of it! Your vacation sounds like it was wonderful - it's great to get some fun and relaxation in right before you embark on this IVF rollarcoaster. Glad to hear your follies are developing nicely.

Sammy - as far as advice on the 2ww - I would treat your body like you would if you were pregnant. Eat healthy (for the most part), don't drink or smoke, take your vitamins - and no heavy lifting or high impact exercise. And there is nothing wrong with laying around with your feet up and relaxing!

About Tomkitten - not only was the baby born on the same day as Brooke Shields - but in the same hospital on the same floor!!! How is that for irony!! lol.......

Hello to everyone - I hope we can get this 30-40 Group back up and running!!!

Woah! Where did everyone go?!!!

Lisa, are you at least still lurking? :D

Things are developing nicely -- had my final scan and bloodwork today and learned a few hours ago that I am scheduled for EC on Wednesday. The nurse told me to take my last shot of gonal-F at 7, then the ovitrelle at 10 p.m. As many of you know, I have never given myself any of the injections -- DH has bravely done it every time. However, DH would not be back until 9 so I asked if it could wait and she said no, I really needed to inject myself (usually I don't even watch when he does it for me). I pulled out the pamphlet with instructions, followed them to a tee, called DH on speaker phone and he walked me through the whole thing, reminding me that one of our best friends who is diabetic injects herself daily!

Well, ladies, I have to say, it did not even hurt a pinch! Very proud of myself. :D But of course, happy to let DH do the 10 p.m. shot tonight.

Sooooo....where is everyone? Have star sightings and celebrity gossip to share.....!!!!

Hey sml - I am still here. Have no clue where the other ladies have disappeared to. :? Hope they are all doing well.

Great news about your EC!! Now things go really fast until the dreaded 2ww- where 9-10 days becomes 9-10 years!!! Great job on the shots. My dh is deathly afraid of needles so I had to do all of my owns shots - my friend who is an RN does my prosgesterone shots since they go in my butt. I am covered in bruises - let me tell ya!!

I am always happy to share celeb gossip so bring it on!

I was actually "recruited" to this thread by Jan. Maybe we need to go out and recruit some 30-40's. I wonder about I12b and all the other ladies. Curious how they are doing.

IF YOU ARE A 30-40 SOMETHING FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN! IT'S GETTING LONELY IN HERE!!!!

Hi sml and Lisa,
I believe you're lonely!
I'm 37 sadly so thought I could keep you company. I'm afraid I'm rubbish at keeping up with everyon's news and post in fits and starts (usually if I am down I can't bring myself to share it, then I rant on for ages when I'm felling a bit better).
I have an admission to make though, which may jeopordise my suitibility for this thread............. I've no idea who Katie Holmes is and I thought 'tomkitten' was the happy arrival of one of the ladies here. I really need to get my popular culture up to scratch.
So if you can forgive me for my appalling street cred and put up with my intermittent postings I would very much like to keep you company.
Lisa I hope your pregnancy develops really well.
Sml how are the follies doing?
I start downreging on 4th May so hopefully Et week of 5th June. I'm trying really hrd to keep up the PMA but have had a difficult few days. DH has some rubbish on the telly, so I'm off for a nice relaxing bath now.

Hi ladies

SML - Your holidays sound wonderful! Glad you enjoyed your time off (with shots in between). Image
I'm still waiting. :( Having a scan on Thursday to see if there is "anything" there or this is a chemical pregnancy or such. Hoping it's not an ectopic. :( :?

Hope everyone else is feeling pumped up with PMA! Image

Just popping in to say good morning to everyone. (at least it's morning here in beautiful Ohio right now) :)

Hi Lynne - and welcome. Don't worry about not being up to date on celebrity gossip - that is what we are here for - lol. Not knowing who Katie Holmes is is a good thing in my opinion. She is on every magazine cover, and every tabloid tv show on and, frankly, I am sick to death of her AND Tom Cruise. So are you having treatment right now? If so - where are you at and how is it going?

MLG - good luck with your scan on Thursday. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything comes out well. How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

Bye for now. Must get some work done

Hi All!

Wow...I have some reading to do to catch up! Just returned from 2 beautiful weeks in the Dominican Republic with DH and another couple...it was very nice. Our first time away together in 13years!

Sorry, I haven't had time to catch up on how everyone is doing...hope all is going well and that everyone is keeping the PMA going and that there are loads of May BFPs on the way!

As for me...so far so good. I'm now about 5 weeks along, and all is well. The trip was trying at times, as I'm experiencing quite a bit of nausea, and not sure if it's baby, or related to food, etc in a different country. So, although the trip was nice, it's great to be home and now we're just keeping fingers crossed that things continue well.

We have a U/S scheduled for the 30th (this weekend coming), so very much looking forward to that. Haven't told the parents yet...trying to determine when the best time is. I won't be able to keep my mouth shut for 3 months for sure, so we're thinking about a Mother's Day announcement (May 19th here).

Sad news when we returned though...one of my friends at work who was also preggers lost the baby. She was about 18 weeks along....I'm so sad for her and it's going to be hard going back to work tomorrow and seeing her. Mother Nature has such a way of turning the tables on you...this friend was so concerned when she got preggers, 'cause she knew that DH and I were trying so hard, and she hadn't really been trying. She avoided talking about it with me too much, etc...THEN...when I got BFP, we were so excited we'd be preggers together, etc etc.

I'm so gutted about what's happened to her....and the tables have completely turned now, and I'm the one not knowing what to say, how to say it, etc.

Ah well...I guess whatever is meant to be will be...it's just so hard sometimes.

Anyhow, on a brighter note, I hope all of you had a GREAT easter and that you are all looking forward to a bright, sunny summer wherever you are.

Take care and I'll write again soon,

Hi Jan!! Welcome back. I am so jealous of your trip to the Dom. Republic - I bet it was wonderful.

I am currently about 5 1/2 wks pregnant - and I got my BFP on 4/13. If you got yours on 3/19, I am thinking you are more like 9 weeks - unless I am reading something wrong?

Anyway - sorry about your friend and the m/c - that is really upsetting news. I can imagine it must be hard to console her in your situation. I hope she can heal and get the strength to move on and try again.

Just wanted to say hello. :)

Hello Ladies,

Welcome Lynne! Don't worry if you've never heard of Katie Holmes -- you are much better off (and clearly read far fewer trashy magazines than I do!). If you are at all curious, she is the soon-to-be-Mrs. Tom Cruise, and just had a baby with him last week. If you really do want to bone up on pop culture, this is the thread -- many celeb gossip junkies here to keep us all entertained. Not much longer until your next cycle -- that's fantastic!

MLG -- Oh, what an agonizing wait! Am keeping fingers and toes crossed for your scan on Thursday -- and sending lots and lots of PMA your way. :D

Lisa -- Well done with the "recruiting" -- it would be so nice to keep this thread going. Hope all is well in Ohio -- is it spring there now? The flowers are starting to bloom here in London and the weather is wavering towards springlike...! How are you feeling these days? Any morning sickness?

Jan -- Welcome back!!! It must have been so amazing to see the DR (how was the weather?!!) and especially, to have some time away together for the first time in 13 years! DH and I really cherished our time together in Spain, even if much of his time was spent on phone and e-mail putting out fires at the office. There is something amazing about being away in a new place, absorbing the sights and tastes and atmosphere! Hope that the morning sickness has subsided?

And so sorry to hear about your friend's m/c -- what a tough situation. But just being there for her is probably the best thing that you can do.

Well ladies, that's it for now. I'll probably be off-line tomorrow as my EC is in the morning. Feeling a bit bloated and have been moody all day (bit poor DH's head off this morning when he had "the nerve" to ask what was wrong!). Going to go and stock up on trashy magazines for the hospital now.

Oh, almost forgot -- had a celeb spotting this past weekend at a club on saturday night. Helena Christenson was there looking very tall and beautiful with her rock-star boyfriend.

Sending positive thoughts to everyone!

xx

Good morning to you all and sorry i haven't posted in a while. We have got to the bottom of the breathing problems. I have been diagnosed with Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome, which according to the internet is similar to ME. I think I have probably had it for a few months. My GP also found I was anemic so put me on iron tablets, which he said will help our chances with either iui or ivf. So what to do now? We should be getting funding for IVF in May, but we could start another round of IUI on Monday. I am very keen to get started again but DH thinks I should rest for another month and give the iron chance to start working before we go straight for IVF. I see what he means. This month off has relaxed me about it all, I have even kept away from here so maybe some time out will give us a better chance with the IVF. We only get one go at that so it is best to give it the best possible shot.

It was lovely to come back to this thread and see that loads of familiar faces, its almost like coming home now, although with all these BFP's we will be calling it the 30-40 maternity room soon.

Jan - Really pleased to hear about your holiday. It sounds wonderful. Sorry to hear about your friends m/c. All you can do is be there to support her but look after yourself at the same time. Don't allow yourself to feel guilty because you are still pregnant

Lisa - Congratulations & hope you are well

sml welcome back

mlg - hope you are well

To everyone else hi and hope you are all alright.

What I want to know is did Tom allow Katie to speak or even shout out during the labour or was it all silent as the papers said it would be. I can't imagine giving birth in silence.

Speak to you all soon
