Hi Nikki + Lisa
How are you both?
Sorry I haven't been on for a while but with easter + everything,I don't seem to have had time
I have no further news at the moment but ,I will be ringing my clinic on friday to see if there are any developments!
Did you both have a good Easter?. I had a lovely time, went upto Whitby on good friday with Dh , we had such a great day.Just what we needed.
Then on Easter Sunday I went out with my best friend + 2 other friends, boy what a great laugh we had, needless to say we all where quite drunk but hey...what the hell! Lol
Lisa...MMonday isn't too far away now, i'm keeping everything crossed for you, honey.
Nikki....I read on another post that you have sorted things out with your friends. I'm soo pleased as it must make you feel so much better. I'm lucky in that my closest friends are great + really understanding, but i remember when my sister in law was pregnant, i felt like she was blocking me out of everything. She never talked about her pregnancy + seemed moody at the fact of been preggers + used to cover up her bump. I used to think, you are soo ungrateful, I would die to be in your shoes! When my nephew was born we went to the hospital to visit + walking that corridor I felt like I was being taken to the death chair!lol
Thankfully we are ok now as I told her how I felt + she has been real understanding. She even watches documentaries re:Ivf so she can understand what we are going through.
I have just read somewhere on here that someone's Dh is having Hcg shots to improve his sperm......Have either of you 2 heard anything about this as I haven't??
Love to you both + anyone else reading this thread
Take care Love Bobs xxx

They said no problem with donors and couldn't believe they were the nearest clinic to our home who could treat us. I asked them about 4 times just to check there is really no shortage and they said they do not envisage any problems with in the forseeable future! Yes!

Hi Lis
Sorry I am only just replying to ur post but I haven't had chance to get on pc.I've been on 3 13hr shifts back to back + i'm knackerd!
I'm really pleased to hear that your clinic hasn't got any problems with donors, you must feel soo relieved! Maybe its just the area I live in + the fact that we aren't having diui. They did tell us that if we were, then there wasn't as much of a shortage.
My dh + I are just going to go along with our clinic til June + enjoy our holiday then i'm going to knuckle down + sort it out, possibly ring around others like you have done.
I'm sorry to hear about how ur dh is feeling but, if it's any consulation my dh was like that too after all talks about donor sperm. He is 100% positive that that is what he wants to do but I think deep down they really feel guilty as they blame their selves for putting us through all of this. Even though many many times I have told my dh that I dont see it as his problem...It's OUR problem.Just give your dh time to think + i'm sure he will be fine.

Nikki - How are you, honey? Hope all is well + your work colleagues aren't gettin you down anymore

I'm feeling a bit down at the moment. My sister has been trying for another baby since christmas + has just found out she is expecting. I am pleased 4 her + feel sorry 4 her in a way too as she was dreading telling me,I told her not to be so daft,(I know life has to go on!) Also,my best friends sister has just given birth.I'm soo pleased for her + I am actually quite looking forward to seeing the baby but i just feel like crap! I'm in the frame of mind when you just feel like you must have done something really bad to be put through all this shit when others around you sail by with no probs!
Sorry for the rant i'm not usually like this so please excuse me
Take care everyone + i'll pop in again soon as i'm off work for a couple of days now,lol
Love Bobs xx

Hi Bobs and Nicki - I am so so so so sorry I haven't been on and spoken to you guys. Since I last signed on a week ago when I was down about how dh was feeling I have chatted with him and we are A - OK but I have also had a busy busy week.

Bobs I am sorry I was not around last week when you were feeling down. My sis in law found out she was pg the same week we found out dh had
-ve sperm analysis. Like yours, my sis in law didn't want to tell us but my brother said no way were we finding out from someone else. It must have been really hard for her but its not her fault. Like you I found it so hard. Well done you for visiting your friends baby without tears! You should give yourself a huge pat on the back :D After I visit my good friends wee one who is 7 weeks old, I always cry  We are going again tonight to see them. I am just hoping and praying I can come home and have no tears - I am on hols this week with dh and don't want to spoil my nice time off :D How bad is this, even thought of not visiting this week for that reason but my friend has invited us over for dinner and I so want us not to grow apart thro all of this so I didn't want to say no.

I have never heard of HCG shos to improve sperm count. Any time I hear about anything like this I think..." might be worth a try ...." but then I remember that dh's lab results showed no evidence that he has ever produced sperm  so for us I think there would need to be a miracle for us to have dh's biological child.

Dh and I had a good chat and like both of your dh's, he 200% sure this is the road for us but he says it all feels a bit numb and clinical right now so its hard to feel excited. Going to take your advice Nicki and not get too excited infront of dh - will just get excited on here! Bobs like you I always tell dh this is our problem, not his. He also said he does feel guilty that its me who has to go thro all this.... I keep telling him its the least of my worries. All I want is that BFP, like we all do.

How was your night out Bobs?? I get like you, really excited befor a girlie night out with a good friend. I have been craving those sorts of nights more and more recently. Think I need to keep reminding myself my life is good (even without a baby). I think its really really important to try and stay grounded and remind yourself of what you have and what is good in your life. Also I seem to want to keep surrounding myself with friends who aren't going to do the whole baby chat thing!

Dh and I went to Little Britain last night. We stayed over in Glasgow (40 miles from Edinburgh) and had dinner and some vino :D beforehand. It was lovely :D Today we have been together for exactly 12 years..... can't believe its that long!!

Nicki - I am using clomid (or something similar) too with my diui. I was told that if I produced more than 2 follies they could aspirate the remaining one(s) and carry on with the cycle. The consultant said that OHSS has never happened tho in this unit. Do you have that option? I was also given 10% risk/ chance of having twins. Did you get any stats like that?

Well take care luvvies and will try and keep my posts more frequent. I'll sign off here xxxx

Hi Lis,
Dont worry about not being around last week when i was 'on 1'! lol, i know what its like not to have the time or need to sort out other issues.
I'm sooo pleased that you + dh have had the time to chat + sort out how you both are feeling. Our hbbies are all going through the same issues, so I totally understand.
Glad you had fun when you went to see Little Britain, bet you had a great laugh. My night out was great, although my head didn't think so the next day!Lol

I've got nothing new to update you with at the moment as my clinic still haven't had any more news, but i am determined to ring every 2 wks for an update, so I will keep you posted.
Take care both you + dh xxx
