Hi everyone, I've posted on here before and I had a question ! We are going through our 4th transfer in May. We have 18 embies frozen since last year 9 of day 1's and 9 of day 3's. We decided this time to go with the blast...but I know alot of the blastocysts are done with fresh embies. I was wondering if anyone has done the blast with frozen day 3's or day 1's..meaning we will have to thaw out and grow to blast! Has anyone been in the same situation and were the results of the embies still good ? Have they made it to the blast? I would like to hear your story, it might ease my mind about this decision! Thank you
take care
Mindy

Sorry I don't have experience of this but have been thinking of doing the same thing as you. I have 12 embies left in the freezer. What advice has your doctor given you about doing this? Given the smaller number that usually grow to blast, how many will you thaw? I haven't seen my doc after my recent failure to discuss this yet so I would be keen to know what you've been told.
Cheers and good luck
Well we were afraid that our embies would lose quality by being thawed and grow to blast and then freeze them again. We called the clinic and they said it wouldn't hurt the quality one bit. We will be thawing 8 embies of day 1 and letting them go to blast, the reason for the day 1's is that their chances of survival after the thaw are amazing so far we haven't lost 1 embie during our 3 attempts. You should call you clinic and ask about all this ...have you done one transfer yet? Were they doing day3 transfers?
We had 26 embies and we put back 2 fresh day 3's last summer in July, Then we went again in August and they put back 3 Frozen day 3's and then again in November 3 Frozen day 3's and my results were all negative . So we took the winter off and I've been doing some research on the net and found alot of good things about the blast. Our clinic didn't mention the blast at all to us of course when starting all of this, but I told DH we have nothing to lose since we still have 18 frozen embies. We will be going for our 4th transfer May 18th, the nurse said that we could lose some but not alot she said it's 40% that we might lose but we might even gain more. Hope this helped! and thank you for replying because I need alot of input right now lol....
take care and good luck, let me know what you clinic decides about the blast!!
