Dear Prissy

That is great news. 6 from 9 is very good numbers. You must be so Image.

Zita West's book just tells you to take it really easy after EC - sleep lots & allow your body to really repair and get ready for the beanies to come back home. Then she says to eat plenty of warm food to keep your tummy nice and cozy.

Fingers crossed that they progress well over the next few days. Good Luck for ET. Sending you loads of babydust. Image

Hi everyone

fresh pineapple contains Selenium which is supposed to aid implantation. fresh pineapple juice (from the chilled cabinet in the shop, not the shelf) is also ok and if you don't like pineapple then brazil nuts also contain Selenium.

I'll also be taking low dose soluble aspirin (75mg) also known as "baby aspirin" to increase blood flow to the uterus.

i know lots of people think these things are silly but they don't do any harm and if they make us feel better psychologically then why not?!

Also all the usuals - diet needs to be as in pregnancy, rest, no heat on stomach, no baths, no orgasms, no smoky atmospheres ...i could go on!

Hi Everyone

Natalie - thanks for all the advice. I love pineapple so eating it will be no problem for me. I am going to take low dose aspirin too. As you say, I figure it might help and unlikely to do any harm so why not give it a go. Hope that you are feeling ok. Baseline not too far away now.

Danielle - so how does it feel being pregnant - I do hope that you are able to relax a little and enjoy. Image How long until your scan?

Prissy - good news on the report. Fingers crossed that ET is going to go well for you & that you are going to be resting up for a few days at least. Image

Vess - Hope that the cyst has now gone either way. It is good to have you back with us. Image

Lucy - let's hope that your cyst is a thing of the past! Image

Sammy - really hope that the pineapple is helping your little fighter. Hope that this is going to be a fantastic 'wedding day' for you. Image

Mitzy - think that I have seen that you are Ilona - which is a lovely name. I really hope that you are bearing up alright. Have read a little of how you are doing on some of the other threads. 2ww if one get there seems such an ordeal. I am thinking of you. Not long to testing now. Just keep it together over the weekend and then it is your turn. Image

Brenda - thinking of you on 2ww wait also. Hope that you are hanging in there. Sending you hugs. Image

Cyot - sounds like you have a great number of follies to start with already. Good luck for next steps in tmt. Image

Sally - How was your baseline? Did you get the go ahead for stimmies? Image

Ellie - glad that you are on track. Short protocol at least cuts down some of the waiting I guess. Good luck for stimmies from Monday. Image

WendyW - Understand the feeling like a pin cushion. Tomorrow is Day 28 of buserlin and Day 9 of stimmies and I am running out of spaces!!!! hang in there Image

Sita - you must let us know if the acupuncture helps?

Jennifer - Hope that the pre-screening went well and that you are all on track for tmt. Image

Sofia - guess that you are now in London. Not sure whether you are on line or not?

Dania - Hope that your first scan went well today. What did they say?

Jess - How are you getting on with tmt?

Heather and Jennifer - Hope that the waiting to start is not too frustrating. Waiting, waiting, waiting - that is what we all seem to do.

Sending postive vibes to everyone. Image

Well I am getting quite nervous about tomorrow. Scan and bloods to see whether I have any follies. I am on quite a low dose of stimmies plus lots of down regging so not at all sure that this will have done the trick. I plan to go on my own so I can deal with the results and then figuure out what/how I tell dh especially if it is disappointing news. Well I'll be sure to let you all know tomorrow when I have news of follies or no-follies.

Good night all. Take good care.

Hi Ladies
I just wanted to update that I have to hold off on my IVF cycle this month because I got a call from my family in Florida that my uncle is sick and not doing very well and I might need to take a trip out there in the next week. I am so very upset because not sounding selfish or maybe I am being selfish but, I woke up today with my AF and I would of started my stimmies tomorrow and i was so excited to be headed to retreival about May 3rd. I was so depressed all day thinking what do I do? So I decided that I can always wait 1 more month for my next AF and start over again because My uncle is very sick and I dont want regrets about him later on thinking I was selfish and only thinking of me and dh.
I called my Dr. and explained they told me to stop taking my Lupron and hold off so im not stressed out during this month and I can just wait for AF again and start up.
So...... I just wanted to let you's know whats going on with me and if you can just update me I will be due about May 17th for my next AF and will start BCP again and Lupron. If my cycle stays on track im looking at June 2nd (ish) for stimmies!
I wish all of you the best and hope to see alot of BFP through the next month on here!
Im very down and out about everything so im going to hit the bed now!

Hi Jess

Really sorry to read your news. However, totally sure that you have made the right decision. This ivf stuff is stressful enough. If you did go ahead this month then you would have all that stress plus the worry about your uncle's health and worry that you may not have made the right decision too. I know now it seems like ages but it is only 1 more month. The good news is that your doctor is understanding & you are all ready to go in just a few weeks. Hope that your uncle is ok. I am sure that he will really appreciate you making all the effort to see him.

Nothing like your situation but I had to put off starting in February as the start dates/scans could not be made to fit with work committments. I am an accountant and it was when we announced results for Year End. I was getting so stressed that I decided that I would be better to give it a shot when less pressured. I felt guilty for putting it back by a month just for work but we cannot put our life completely on hold for ivf and I know that I am in a better place doing it now than I would have been.

This is a rough time for you but there is plenty of support here for you when you need it. Just means that you can join the June thread as well!!

Take good care. Sure you have made the right & very unselfish decision in the circumstances and that your call will lead you to a positive result at the right time for you.

Hoping that the time will race by! Image

Hi All

Just back from clinic. Very speedy today. I have mixed news. The good news is that the folly fairy has done her job and there are loads of follies on both sides (which is very odd as they told me that one side was PCOS so may not do anything!?). Registrar would not give me numbers at all. Bad news is that there are so many that they are worried that I might over stimulate and there are lots which are very small. I kept sneaking looks at the screen and her notes. Looked to me from reading the notes that the biggest ones that I had were probably 12mm but lots of really tiny ones which I know from reading here is no good for eggs.

Anyway they have not stopped the cycle (yet). She told me that they would call me later but otherwise to go ahead with stimmies tomorrow & Sunday but not Monday (which would have been my last day) & then to come in then for more bloods and another scan (as scheduled). She was not very communicative but did say that they might want to see me on Sunday.

Guess that I will now walk around with my mobile glued to my ear waiting for a call. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting...................... :?

I would be flipping out if I could not come on here and post and read what others have said in such situations.

Take good care.

Hi

Hope you don't mind me joining in. I had my ET yesterday (FET) so I am now on my 5th 2WW. It certainly doesnt get any easier. I have just been reading the last few things on here and noticed the bit about pineapple juice so I will be sending my DH into the shop later, anything is worth a try!!! I have taken 5 days off work, then I start a new job on Tuesday, I must be bonkers  I don't think it will be stressful and it should hopefully take my mind off the 2ww slightly. Hope to get to know you all in the next two weeks. My test date is 4th May.

Carolyn

i can't believe they wouldn't tell you the numbers and sizes! on my first attempt i had 16 eggs after just a few days of stims and they said if i got over 20 i might have to go for a total freeze. a few days later i had 20 but they still didn't reduce the dose (i was pretty ignorant then so just went along with it) and then on EC day i had 23 eggs collected and ended up with OHSS and had to have a total freeze.

if i were you i would call them and demand to know how many you have growing. drink loads of water and whole milk and rest. if you're given the choice about going in on sunday, take it.

sorry to be bossy but i would hate anyone to get OHSS like i did when it could be avoided!

Hi Girls,

sorry...just a quick one again as i am about to go out (sunshine and lovley and warm over here *g*)

Carolyn-plz dont worry. This is quite normal in women with pcos. I was quite worried the first time round because no one told me this is normal when you got pcos but believe me it is. It takes a long and careful stimmulation for us. You will get there...just be patient (took me 16 the first and 17 days the second time round)

My scan and blood went ok. Startet Stimms yesterday. 75 I.U. of Gonal F, very low because of my pcos. Another bloodtest on Monday and then decide when to go to uk.

Sorry i cant do all the personals today girls, doesnt mean i´m not thinking of you.

Hope you all have a nice weekend. Take care everyone.

Hi Carolyn,

Everytime I have had to go the hospital I have had to take my folder with me, this was given to me on our first appointment, do you not have one of these?

Inside my folder was my follie chart, and it lists the follies found and measurements of each.

If you don't have a folder I would ask them what sizes you have, you have a right to know they are your follies!

Good luck, I am sure you wont need it.

IVF is difficult, but much more difficult without information. That is why these boards and the internet are so good. I'm just like you - wanting to know everything and stressing about small, big, real, and imagined things. I'm sure if you rang them and asked to know more details because you are concerned at the lack of communication, they would be happy to tell you. It probably isn't a super-serious situation, otherwise they would have ajdusted your dose or reacted in some way. So the lack of info is maybe because they don't see any real cause for alarm, and can get a bit careless about informing patients since they see so many of us. My RE works seven days' a week and only has one or two Sundays off a month - and he is married with two small kids!

In a few days you'll be sitting back treating yourself and waiting for the 2ww to be over!

Good luck, we'll be thinking about you and praying for your coming week.

(Same to Mitzy, who seems to be holding out extremely well. Fingers crossed!)

Ladies

Thanks ever so much to Natalie, Ilona, Sofia and Sally for posting in response to by rather stressed/panicky post earlier. You have calmed me down such a lot. Spent all day reading past threads about folly numbers which has also helped.

Ilona/Mitzy - I do have a folder but all the stuff in there is very generic rather than anything personal. They do have a 'two page' report on me/dh. I got handed it (so could have a good read - of course  ) when I went for my last scan but not today. That is what I was watching her write on. I am pretty sure that she wrote 12 X 12 on one side and 10 X 12 on other side. I take that to mean 12 follicles of 12mm on one side and 10 follicles of 12mm or the other way around 12 follies of 10mm. I did ask but she was very uncommunicative. To be fair she said that they would want to marry that up with my bloods before they decided course of action & would call me if there was any change to my tmt. Her concern seemed to be that I had too many and that they may not be of good enough size & that I seemed to be generating too many that they could not measure (under 10mm?). No wonder I feel so blimin' bloated. I ought to be grateful that the drugs have delivered me a good number of follies.

Not many days for you now - hope that signs are good. Take it easy over the weekend and then your test will be here. Hope that the little one is sticking right there for you. I am cheering you on for Monday. Image

Natalie - bossy is good! I need to be told what to do. Thank you for your advice. I very much appreciate your words of wisdom. I am rubbish at trying to drink my 2 litres of water but after your message have drunk LOADS of water and milk too. I could not call the hospital as was too scared that they would cancel my tmt. Hope that your DR is not too awful. You always have words for everyone else - thinking of you too. Will ensure that I rest and drink loads of water over weekend. Plus I know that I can be a grown up and can call the clinic over weekend if I start to get more concerned. Image

Sally - glad to hear from you that my experience is 'normal'. I know that we have to trust what they are doing/telling us. I have no problem waiting at all. Just don't want tmt to be cancelled or to send myself to over stimulate. Glad that your bloods went well and that you are now getting going with stimmies. Hope that Monday goes well and do let us know when you are coming over to the UK. Have a lovely evening out in the sunshine. Image

Sofia - just seen you post for me too. You are so right. Sure that I am over reacting. Everything that I have heard/read about Hammersmith is good so I am confident that they know what they are doing to me. Sure that I need to keep on with stimmies to ensure that I make some follies grow bigger as know that they need to get 18mm. Keeping tummy warm as Zita book recommends as do ladies on here. Thank you for being so reasssuring for me. The drugs do seem to have made me over react - even more than usual. They would adjust if they needed to. Hope that you are on track to with your tmt. Image

Gail - Image - good of you to join us. See that you have started a May Test Thread also. I just hope that I make it to that post also! Hope that the 2ww is going ok for you & you are not going to crazy. Get going with those pineapples!!

Lucy - really really hope that your scan goes well tomorrow and the cyst has gone. Have my fingers & toes crossed for you hun. Image

Am back feeling more positive. You have got me back on track. Thank you so very much. Will take very easy over weekend & then they will check me again on Monday. PMA PMA PMA. This site is an absolute godsend.

Love to everyone else. Have a nice weekend.
