Hello Ladies:

Just popped in to say hello. Sorry that I have not posted lately, but I am frantically working on our adoption paperwork, so that we can send it to China before we leave for vacation on May 16th. Yesterday DH and I had a finger printing appointment. They had a difficult time getting my fingerprints. I hope they are not rejected or it will delay us.

We are supposed to make an appointment with our doctor for a post IVF conference, but I'm in no hurry. DH is not keen on doing IVF #3 with the 4 frosties.

Good luck with all upcoming cycles and treatments. I can't keep up with everyone's cycle.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi everyone,

The boards are a bit quiet this evening, I wonder if everyone is out starting their weekends.

Hi Tammy, good to hear from you. Glad you are still dropping in, even though you are busy with your adoption paperwork. Why did they have a difficult time with your fingerprints?

Sorry to hear that DH is a bit hesitant about using your frosties. How does he feel about leaving them in "suspended animation"? Or is he just needing a break for a while? Perhaps he will be able to revisit later, when things are a bit more settled with the adoption paperwork underway.

Lisa, good to hear from you also. Hope you are having a nice birthday. 41 is still a spring chicken honey, wait till you get the wrong side of 45! Will be keeping my fingers crossed for your frosties at the beginning of May. Keep on pestering the people dealing with your fostering application. It is not your fault that people are quitting, they should have someone in place to take over the work load. Keep the faith, I am sure you will get there in the end, one way or another.

Hey Anna, I take it from your posting that you are back to work now. School hols don't last long enough IMHO! DH went back on Tuesday also, and straight back into "no time to scratch his bum!" Hey ho, thank goodness the weekend is here. Our proposed date for tmt in Kiev is around the last week in May. Just waiting for the next AF appearance, then I will be able to have a more definate idea. We did send our prepayment over this week, it arrived today, so hopefully they can now find me a donor match and will be sending me her characteristics soon. Getting quite anxious now, would like to know what she will be like - not that I have any particular specification you understand, it will just be interesting to try and imagine her going about her daily business, making a bumper crop of eggs for me!

Jo, are you out there? Not long to go to your test date. How are you doing with your 2 ww? Keeping fingers crossed for you honey. x

Alette, how was your appt on the 18th? Are you going ahead with your frozens? Good luck with it if you are.

Caz, you must have started your bcp now. How are you doing?

Gail, any more thoughts on the DE tmt abroad?

Hi to everyone else, Robyn, Kat, Jen, Debra, Amfy, Randa, Yasmina, and Jules.

Hi all,

DH and I had prawns last night for supper (in a very tasty stir-fry) but this morning DH definately has the "trots" and I think I may be next! Also, I get this bit of a headache in the side/back of my head. Could this be stress related? Am off out today for yummy food shopping, some good friends of ours are emigrating to Qatar end of April so we are having a "bit of a do" with them tonight.

Hey Caz,

Glad to see that you had a good holiday and birthday. Did you get very brown - it is SO hot in the Gambia, but always a cool pool to dip into eh? Good luck with the cycle. Can you explain what a cetrotide cycle is please? Have not heard of this before.

Hi there Bella (Newbie),

I am being a bit premature, but hoping that you will come across and join us today (hope you can find us!). The girls here will make you very welcome. :)

OK gang, will catch up later.

Lot love Bev xxx

Hello Ladies:

I guess April is a birthday month for us ladies. Happy birthday to Lisa and
Caz. My 42nd birthday is this coming Friday.

Bev: Cetrotide is a shot given to prevent premature ovulation. I used it with both IVF's. My frosties are not really in "suspended animation" since they are just eggs, not embies. My doctor will not freeze embies. I think that once we get our paperwork off to China, maybe DH and I can have our post IVF conference with the doctor to see if we want to proceed with our frosties.

Lisa: Any news on your foster parent situation?

We need some BFP on this site. The nice change in weather here has really lifted my spirits. The grass is green, the leaves are green and some of our flowering trees and shrubs have bloomed. I'm ready to start planting flowers! We only have 2 weeks left in our current Spring semester!! I'm so looking forward to having 5 weeks off before starting the summer semester.

Good luck to all who are currently "in the process".

Regards,
Tammy

Hello ladies
Have just got back from a weekend visiting family and am just about to go and pack for the school residential this week. We are off to the south coast tomorrow for a week full of abseiling, rock climbing and quad biking etc... great fun if you didn't have 50, 10 and 11 year olds with you! The good thing about it is that the week will fly by as it is so busy, then we are off to Barcelona on 2nd May! The anticipation is killing me

Debra, hope you are OK. Really hope you don't have to wait another month. Hugs to you. xx

Lisa, good news that your levels are rising. PMA to you with the adoption paperwork. Sounds like a nightmare. Hope the fingerprints turn out Ok and you can proceed without any delays. Oh and happy birthday too !

Bev, yes we were back at school last week. But only a short working week with the bank holiday so it wasn't too bad! Another one coming up soon too. Hope the prawns didn't make a re-appearence!

Tammy, I hope the dr is sympathetic when you have your apptmt. What advice do you think you will get?

Happy birthday Caz. Glad to see you had a good holiday. Lots of luck with this cycle!

Anyone heard from Jules?

Hi All,

Anna, thanks for reprinting our list.
We have one who should have tested in early April (Jules) and one who will test tomorrow (Jo). That's so exciting and I somehow missed this.
I hope we hear some news on both accounts.

Happy birthday to Lisa, Caz and Tammy!!!! :D :D :D

I'm having such a good time on my stay in Arizona. I've been fortunate enough to get some quality time with all of my old friends - it's so good to catch up on everyone's life.

My suppression check is April 27 (Thursday). That's also the day I go off the bc pills for two days and then start the injections on Saturday (April 29). I'm not even excited at all. This is very different from the other rounds. I'm not down or up, I'm just numb. Maybe things will change once we get into the cycle???

I think the list is a little behind as I know I'm not the only one on meds. I'm not good at updating it for others. Anyone want to give it a try?

Tammy,
Happy birthday! I'm so jealous that you're going to be getting a beautiful baby girl. This foster thing is still just soooooo uncertain and i'm really doubting our decision. Fingerprint clearance is back but still no word.
Randa,
This is to be your first transfer right? So your first 2ww? Don't worry, the emotions will come to you. The 2ww is the worst.
Caz,
Prawns sound good.....they wanted out though ehh?
Ok everyone forgive my ignorance but where is Gambia?
Anyone heard from either Jules? And I believe Jo tested today?
My E2 is 529 now so cruising along. Start progesterone next....so will start colace too since the progesterone causes constipation. TMI? hehehe
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Lisa, Gambia is a v.small coastal, west African country, almost completely surrounded by Senegal. It's popular with Europeans for winter sun holidays. I went there about 12 years ago one February. Not much to see or do (very poor, very little wildlife - we took a one day boat trip and saw a grand total of two pelicans and one monkey!!) but the weather is great, nice, quiet beaches and there are some lovely hotels.

Not good news...

AF cramps all last week, and I smeared bitty brown all weekend.

Yesterday morning I tested very, very faintly postive. The clinic said to come in and pick up another HPT. But by the time we got there, mid afternoon, I was losing a lot of big, red clots. Despite the very pale line from the morning, the clinic test was NEGATIVE, and that, combined with the amount I was losing, gave us the picture pretty clearly. They said the faint postive was either a chemical preg or a very early MC.

The bleeding has got heavier and heavier since then, really very nasty. And very painful. And I feel absolutely broken.

We have an appt with the clinic counsellor next Wednesday, and a follow up appt with our specialist on 19 May (the day after my 44th birthday ...)

My wonderful mother has offered to pay for one more IVF treatment, but at the moment we don't feel like we can take the strain of it all - the treatment has totally dominated our lives for the past 5 months and we both feel that we are running on empty.

What we really need is time to recover, to get away somewhere warm and beachy and just relax together, try to get our relationship *normal* again, and heal our wounds. But I'm sure that the specialist will tell us that, because of my age, if we want to do it again, we should not delay, even by months.

And, even then, chances will be no better than they have been for our last 2 attempts - ie 5-10%. The future seems so very bleak right now.

I want to thank all you wonderful ladies for all your support, vibes and kind words over the recent months; you have all helped me so very much. I'll be disappearing from view for a little while. I need to get my head together.

All my very best wishes to all of you and thanks once again.

Keep on trying - one of us has got to make it, surely?

Hi, It seems like ages since i have posted here. so long in fact i see i have been removed from the list.
Well I have been very depressed and obsessed with all this ivf stuff i needed a break. I recently went to NY for a consult there and didn't get any good news. Basically the DR told me i have a minimal chance and if i need to do a third cycle for closure then she would be willing. They are sugessting DE. I guess i am still in denial anad not ready to go the donor route just yet. I have been doing much research on immunology and implant problems. Have any of youheard of alan beer in chicago? he has many collaborating dr's internationally. Taranisi in london is one. well i am trying to get an appt there to attemp a June cycle. i don't wnat to give up yet. I think i am resistant to the stims because of the thyroid problem which is an auto immune problem........anyone ever hear of any of this.
I was reading to catch up and we really could use some BFP's here. I am glad for those of you that will be adopting! Best to all of you!

Jo, so sorry to see your news.

Robyn, Dr Beer has been mentioned on the board many times. I think he's in a thread I've just bumped up for you called 'ever wonder why ivf doesn't work?' or something v.similar. There are definitely people who have looked into his research and I'm sure someone had an apt. too, don't remember more than that though. Read the thread and see if it helps.
