Hello Oodles my Noodles!

In for a quickie.....
Have been traveling this week.. back in the office for 2 hours then back out on the road- it's fish structures for me today. WOuld be great fun- out on the big lake in a big boat... but alas it is pouring down rain, so not so much fun anymore. Ah shucks.

So my girls, how's ma bunnies?? Lots to read.
Lola- testing, Little R restin, Jen recovering, Walshy absent.

I did go on shopping trip- great deals on 2 pairs of pants and shades. I look stunning darlins. he, he, tee. ...

Good news- Grey's returns on Sunday with hottie Chris O'Donnell!!! Gazzooks! he looks fine with scruffy hair.

Sorry tulips! Gotta jet...

Fish on the water,

Girlies, Girlies!
Mornin Sistas.

Lucky me.. the hotel I am at has free internet access! Score!

Where is everyone, I thought you girls are postin machines over the weekends. I thought I would get on and see some very exciting stories about fantastic adventures around the globe... no? huh. Lola must be chained to a desk somewhere in Libraryville... craps for her. Sorry Lolas..

Well, for me today... I have a very exciting day of makin and placin fish structures and it is of course- POURING buckets of rain. I got up this morning and showered and blew dry my hair... as I was doing it- I wondered why, I am going to be soaked in about 30 seconds anyhow.. Sydney Bristow never has to worry about the rain?? Unless she is in skimpy white shirt lookin very sexy. I will just look like drown rat. Speakin of Sydney.. the last 6 episodes started the other night. I was at a conference and well... quite snuckered with a bunch of co-workers and did not see it. Struck by yummy long island iced teas at cheap rate in college town. I will have to catch up this week and give you the goods.. although I did see in a preview that Vaughn is back- not quite sure if he is real or a ghost though...

Keep your grubbies crossed for me. I had bloodwork on Friday and I am hoping that the MOnday results will say I ovulated last week.. all signs pointed in that direction. Hoo-RAH.

Hows my crew--- Lolas, Littles, Jens and Walsher??

Water off a ducks back,
Steph

Wow I am so jealous... the last 6 episodes.... you will have to tell us about Vaughn.... SUCH a hottie...

Good news for you on the test results, I am sure... Fingers crossed for you.
I am going for my first scan on Monday..so hopefully I will be able to start stimming.
And also the unspeakable happens for Lola on Monday.. so lots going on for the Octochicks that day!   Let's hope for an all-round good day

Gotta dash... will be back soon for more news....just wanted you to have something to read...

Love to you, Jen, Lola and Walshy (soon back from her lengthy break)

Hallooooo!

just a quickola, will post laters...
Steph and her nature adventures!! Go warrior! Bet you are just like our Sydney, rain or no. Do you have to wear kevlar vest in case of fish terrorism?? Man that we be soo good. Shame the weather is erse - its sunny here in londres but you are right..... I am stuck indoors trying to get my pin head around toxicology of metals AKA insomnia 1.01. As a feeble treat am off out for lunch in the square, man, lame lame lame.
PS what is a fish structure? Is it an underwater house disguised as a cod? Because that would be cool :D
I am so lost with Alias - last series is on over here too at ridiculous o'clock so never see it. Did Vaughn die then???
Of course have fingers crossed for you!! If the news is positive when will you start doing the do????

Petite R - apple tartin'.... is that a euphemism??? Expect update.... for my vicarious kicks... Monday is the day..
Cut to you, legs akimbo in stirrups of decorum getting the all clear for stimms and me, in manchester, pen in mouth looking thoughtfully out of the window into the quad wondering what they mean by Mouth velocity of a local exhaust ventilation system. Happy days. Can't wait for next week!!!

Jemla - how you dudette?

OK, off to luncheon with the vagrants in the square - laters scabbaters

Octopals... how are you all?

Are you still wet Agent Steph? How's the hair looking... are you going for the natural, humid and sexy look? How come Bristow can pull it off?
So have you had a good day? With your fish structures?

Lola, love.... you poor thing... head still in your books...nearly there, nearly there. I see light at the end of your tunnel. I am rooting for you, sista... I will be thinking about you when being poked and proded on Monday.. I can definitely imagine you...better I will focus on you when I am being intruded upon ...here's my picture of you... you're perched on your seat dressed in pencil skirt, killer heels, black clingy top wearing you don't-fool-with-me glasses and wistfully chewing on that pen  ... You'll do fab. I have faith in you and your abilities, Dr Jones. Honestly I will be thinking about you!
Love your apple tarting expression...will coin it if you don't mind in the future. Alas... no tarting    this end of the world... my DH is exhausted after working his 15hr flight and looking for serious pillow cuddling (no euphemism). I'll be lucky if he survives for another hour before he hits the pillow again. He's in a zombie state... will be flying to Europe on Tuesday. Hopefully he will fly away knowing that I am stimming.... fingers crossed for OK!
Wow....visit with The Zita... well tell us what the mother of all mothers-to-be says... I would be mighty impressed!

Jen, lass....how are you doing today (as we are taking it one day at a time)? Any exciting plans for your weekend?
Sorry, you are angry with me about my weight    ... I am not complaining because I know your struggle is definitely more painful than mine. I would also like to have some excess and not hear people say that I can't get preggers because I am too skinny... because then I only feel guilty. Anyway.... actually I don't mind cleaning....it helps clear my thoughts and sometimes even gives me peace.... I hate IRONING. Yuck! I'd gladly send my cleaning lady to you in Scotland

Walshy... you should be getting home soon...hope you are well and rested... you'll need it to read the dozens of messages we have posted in your absence  Poor thing  So where are you in your cycle?

Well I am off to finish slushy novel and then watch some CSI episodes    whilst eating my apple tart

Lots of love... see you tomorrow

 Hi girls

Well just home from my sleepover, not too bad only one child late home, no police involved and one abusive---quiet night.

Have been feeling better and have decided i can either sit and be miserable or plan for our next cycle. We have a wedding in 5 weeks, dieting and househunting then a work night out so July will be here before we know it.

Little R - Didn't mean to make you feel bad about your weight, sorry
I know it must be as hard for you skinnys too but i get constantly down about mine and i'm not even huge. I feel miserable about my fat even when i'm thinner!!!!!!!!! Could murder a slice of your yummy pie though.

Steph - Glad your back Bud and been pampering yourself, good for you. Don't you work too hard this weekend.

Lola - Knock em out on Monday, you'll be fine, we have so much confidence in you.
Can't hide money eh, visit to the Queen of Preggers. Don't forget us and pass on her tips to your loyal Buds.

Walshy - Only a day away, thats a cue for a song eh? Bet your better looking than Annie though-----and with a glowing tan  defo jealous. In Scotland your pasty white for about 10 months of the year. I have to depend on my St Tropez to fake it.

Am going to visit two more houses tomorrow then late shift at night. Will catch up Monday after my early shift. Have a god weekend

hola chicas

Of course, if I make pilgrimage to The Zita Cave of Secrets will update my faves with nod nod wink winks.
Jen - whats your job? You're always disappearing for sleep overs.... Glad you're feeling more positive and motivated - power to you my friend! I also have house buying on my to do list (after the satanic ritual humiliation by test). Is so hard and too too pricey :? ah well, maybe I'll win big on the lottery or something. Or maybe a second job..

R - silence...I assume that you, dh and the "apple tart" are enjoying some together time in hot n humid D  Not long before the stimms start :D You'll be preg by end of month!!! Lets start the chanting!!!

Steph - was my post sadly prophetic and you have been gunned down in the line of duty by some disenfranchised Haddock? NOOOOOOOOO!!!! How's the fish structuring going?

I'm trying to cram a "few" critical facts into my mush head before I get train to manchester. Clearly I'm not, I'm here posting to ma girls and trying to compile an "exams my ass" playlist for iPod for journey up. Priorities: Discuss. Pffttt.

Good luck tomorrow Little R! And steph, lets hope your 'mones are pointing in the Ov direction. Its like being in the Olympics and the octo lot are Luxembourg, entering team members into various fertility races, me and Jemla came away with runner up, R n Steph will streak to victory. Walsh - your up next so don't get too comfy on the subs bench and PS where are you I thought you were back today?
Jen, we're back in training, waiting for hurdles

OK OK conscience! I will go back to my desk Image

Wish me luck on sail boat to success Image

heh heh heh

Will check in later

Au revoir my little eiffels

Hey my Octopals...

Not sure I like the whole downregging thing...I have been having killer headaches... been to bed twice in a row because I didn't know what else to do. I have tried watching TV to distract me...but even that doesn't work... just want a dark room.

Anyway...

Jen love... you sound positive and it's great music to the ears  Glad to see you're getting back to your usual self...it's only a question of time before we glimpse our bright Jen again. It sounds like you have some exciting and achievable things to keep you busy....house-hunting is a full time position? Have you seen anything you have fallen in love with yet?
Yes, I second Lola... what do you do? what is a sleepover? I know you work with children...but??? All very intriguing

Lola....top form tomorrow, I say
I will be beaming energy and PMA over to you as soon as my scan is done...which due to time difference will probably catch you when you are waking up. You have been working so hard and have had a lot to deal with... you will get what you deserve    Trust your journey to Manchester will be eventless and you'll be calm and serein whilst listening to excellent Ipod compilation
Happy Monday to you, Dr Jones.

Steph dear...so how's it hanging with the fish? Hope you're not caught in the nets? So if you work on the weekend do you get compensation (days off) during the week?
Perhaps you can help me out..my DH has had a change of plans... he's flying over to NYC on Wednesday...question for you...in your experience: cheapest place to buy books, Borders or B&N? Roughly the same?
I will also be thinking about you on Monday... let's hope it's an all-round "Systems Go" for both of us.

Walshy...time for you to come back now...

Excited and nervous about tomorrow...hope I get the "go ahead"...

Much love to all my Octochicks....

Talk to you tomorrow!

Hello Ladies and let me start off with OMG !!! You ladies certainly have
been busy since I have been away. So much to read.....

You'll be happy to know that I have my bucket in hand to help bail us out of the down in the dumps that we have had for the last few posts....You may have to watch me though as I still have a lot of alcohol going through my system and may fall overboard....

I'll write little personals as there was so much to read and I am still in holiday mode so my reading is not up to scratch but my drinking is :D God now I sound like an alcoholic

Jen - I am so sorry this wasn't your cycle. I am sending you hugs for you and DH and the fact that it is so hard.

Little R - How is the down regging going? I'm lucky I didn't have to do any of that this time.

Lola Bean - Have you had your scan yet?? Are you going onto cycle three soon or taking a bit of a break.... As for letting down the tyres of prams your secret agent in Australia is ready just call me on the batphone to let me know when I have this side of the world covered.....

Steph - I was reading about the talk with your husband and I have already had that with my DH. Maybe your DH realised how much it meant to you and is now willing to take hold of the baton for a while. I know with my DH that he feels a but helpless as I am the one going through all the drugs and he can just sit there and hold my hand.

As for me I had an ultrasound this morning and the 2 last eggs go back in on Friday the lining is very thick.......... Very nervous about them being defrosted as they are taking them to blastocyst stage and for some reason I feel they won't survive.

I did miss you all while I was away and thought of you often. You are a great bunch of people to be able to share these experiences with and as you have all said before it's great to be able to come on and share you ladies and this seriously must work for all of us soon.... And if it doesn't i have come up with a plan B we can all meet up on some tropical island drinking margharitas and talking of the good old days when we had hot flushes and migraines.....

Cheers, Walshy

Sunny mornin's to you Octopals....

Walshy.....wow...well that's great. Friday is the big day for you. When are they being defrosted (really soon I imagine)? It's super to have you back  Fingers crossed for you

Jen, love: hope all is well and that you are still

Lola: fingers and all extremities crossed for you   ....am thinking about you all the time... willing the answers to pop into your head if you need be. Hope your journey went smoothly

Steph... what's new? Thinking about you too and hoping your results this morning are better than mine...at least one of us will get the go ahead.

Well, went for my scan and the good news is that I don't have any cysts.....the less than thrilling news is that I am not ready to start stimming as not fully downregged yet. My endometrium is still too thick  I have to return for a scan on Saturday and hopefully I will get the go ahead then. I cried out of frustration in the parking lot... I just want to start and having to wait is killing me now. Argh  In killer mood now  I am so nervous that the whole thing will be cancelled.
Naturally this pushes everything back and hopefully my DH will be around for the important events..... that's the other issue we have to contend with.
Luckily Grey's is on tonight  ..I need the pick-me-up....

Hoping for good news from you Octopals, Lola and Steph....

Much love to you all,

Sunny kisses ....will check in later....

 Hi gorgeous Buds

The Aussie Alci - Glad to have you back with us, we've missed you. It's brilliant to hear you are going to be reunited with you frosties on Friday. Try not to be too down and stay positive. This will work, you will be the start of the Octo Buds good news for the year.

Little R - No cancellations for you madam. I know it frustrating having to wait but all good things blah blah, you know what i mean. You keep you chin up little Miss Dubai Skinny Pants, all will be fab.

Lola - Second job, nope i think you can't cram in any other spare time. Too much studying going on in you house. When does it all end?
As for the lottery, can we share that and your tips from The Zita?

Steph - You must be working too hard. Came and have a natter with your Buds.

My Job - Well, think i should keep you all dangling for a while----------ok, it's not in my bones to be unkind.
I originally trained as a nursery nurse and worked as a private nanny for 13 years in London, France, Switzerland, Milan, Surrey. It was hard work but i was lucky and had great families, lots of cool cars to drive and mega holidays. In my last year in London i worked with a few families teaching the mum's how to look after their new babies. How ironic is it eh? I look after everyone else's kids and can't get one of my own

When we moved to Scotland i decided to do some more training. I graduated and I'm now a Senior Social Care Officer and work for Children's Services within the Social Work Dept in a Children's Residential Unit. The young people have psychological and behavioural problems and are between 11-16 years. They have been abused, neglected, uneducated etc etc. It's very hard work and demanding as along with all these issues their behaviour is very challenging but i love it.
I suppose it's difficult when i'm going through ivf as most of the young people's parents having loads of kids in care and they all seem to get pregnant at the drop of a hat, then the kids are removed and it starts all over again. So frustrating and unfair:twisted:
Anyway, now you know why i have to do sleepovers. Although there is a person on waken night there need to be someone on call with them just incase the young people kick off.

Hope thats satisfied your curiosity. What does everyone else do. I know roughly about Steph and Lola but gives some more info girls.

Well am away to chill out. Forgot to say, i'm feeling better and ready for the BIG 3----bring it on  .

Catch up with you all soon

hey ladies
(thats the first line of that song "I've Never Been to me" - remember that one? Was hilarious "I've been to georgia and california and anywhere I could roam, took the hand of a preacher man and we made love in the sun" CLASS. IC. :D :D :D )

Anyhoo... this is just a quickolata, just got in from manchester: exam centrale.

R - bum boobs and bugger about your extra wait  another bloody hurdle, but one taken in a single stride by my athletic little one :D So now we wait until Saturday..... What episode are you up to with Greys?

Walsh my dipsomaniac pal! Good to have you back! Yes indeed you have much to catch up on. I can't believe where you are in your treatment - its all gone so quickly! Blasts - I want to do that with my next one. When you get a minute can you let me know exactly what drugs you've been on and stuff - the entire skinny? Cheers. As for me, I'm not waiting for a scan? I'm going to wait until after my exams and a holiday before my next try. To be honest I am really relieved not to be on ivf merry-go-round at the moment, I'd have a breakdown :D

Jemla jemla - your job sounds hard. But rewarding. My friend's a social worker in Edin so she’s always got lots of stories to tell. As for sharing my lottery winnings - ivf is on me! I can be very generous. But not with chocolate orange thingys or gummy bears  You know my job so nout to tell, no glam jet setting for me! Med school after school, then house jobs, A&E, Geriatrics, Anaesthetics then 2 and a half years travelling about then this. Zooommm, where did the time go?

Steph - well now you've got me worried!! Are you sleeping wit da fishes? Get in touch STAT!!! Miss my space-hopping friend.

Well, the exams, all 3 of the blighters, actually went ok  I also remembered something, male doctors are mainly anal, arrogant ******ers. Man, they were so unfriendly! Reminded me of med school. Ah well, they’ll get theirs.
So, just the massive June hurdle to do now and then my exam taking days are OVER!!! Hoorah!!!!

Back to work tomorrow to survey the chaotic mess my absence has created :D Do you ever want to just stop the world and get off for a bit?

OK my dolls, see you tomorrow!

Keep believin'

I am so excited I just got a call from the clinic to let me know that both embies survived the defrost and are looking super.......... :D :D :D :D
She will call me again tomorrow to let me know how they are doing but said their really is no need to think they will not keep multiplying as they looked exactly the same as when they went in to be frozen. If they do stop however they will wip me in to put them back in and cross my fingers.

I was so nervous that they would not survive the freeze for so long but now I am just crossing everything that they continue to multiply like they are suppose to and go back in smoothly on Friday. I can't wipe the smile off my face i am so excited......

This cycle seems to be running smoothly (about time) and I hope that I will be the first of the octobuds to start the ball rolling for BFP.....

Lola to answer your questions I am this time only on Progynova which is a hormone to build up the lining of the uterus, I have been on this from day 4 of my period (which i took drugs to make that happen) so I have been on them a total of 12 days. I contiue on them until they tell me not to I guess. I also started yesturday progesterone pesseries to make my ueterus think it is doing all this by itself naturally. Because I do not have natural periods and never ovulate on my own I did not have to have Syranel spray or anything like that that alot of the other ladies at my clinic have to to suppresss that part of their cycle. I am taking them to blast this time and hoping that one of them sticks and if both do even better. As for the break take as long as you need. I was like that after my last cycle but then got itchy feet and had to start again.

Jen - I am glad to see that you are feeling better. It is so hard this TTC rollercoaster that we are on. just when we think we are fine something comes and smacks us in the face...

Little R - The eggs were defrosted last night which is going so fast for me which is great that way I can't sit around on the net reading things on how to keep the egg perfect....Please tell me I am not alone in this i feel as though I get obsessed while I am on the TTC bandwagon checking every websight hoping something new is on the horizon. If your endometrium is too thick can you have a period and start again? I hope you get the go ahead this week though and your super thick endometrium is just want you little eggs need. Are you doing a full cycle????

Steph - Where are you it seems one of us is always MIA for a while and then when they get back there is so much to catch up on.....

Now away from the TTC talk so much happened while I was away. My DH and i found a house that we wanted made an offer they accepted (we were stoked it was 90K less than they were asking) Anyhoo then my DH gets a call offering him his dream job but alas that means a substantial drop in his wages. Either house or job we couldn't have both...we took the job as it is a whole career change and he is not getting any younger and this will be his only opportunity.....

For my work I work for the Government for government housing so I deal alot with people who have major issues and deal with alot of different organisations like Jens... I like my work though but it can be hard to see people who treat their children badly just pop out another one to replace the ones that have been taken off them due to drug addictions etc. I also have the opportunity to help out those most in needs which I find personally rewarding...

Ok going to go now and try and no obsess that my little chickens made it......Walshy

Wow Octopals.... you have been prolific and I have only been away for less than 24 hours
It's great to read so many posts.... where to start.

Walshy... you are not alone.... this is absolutely super dooper news and we need a win for the Octochicks at this point. We are all behind you and hope that your smooth cycle will continue to go smoothly and that on Friday you will be re-united with you little blasto-bunnies! This is excellent news and you are right to never wipe the smile off your face    Stop looking at websites.... trust that everything will be fine and go with the flow.
I am in limbo again...waiting for the OK to go ahead. Nope, I should not re-bleed again.... I still have a teeny tiny period so all is normal...it's just taking time to downreg. The Dr is confident that by Saturday (next scan) my endometrium will be thin again. She prefers to take things slowly with me as I am pretty small so she didn't give me the whole dose needed for the downregging but only half. She has previously done this with another patient (the downregging obviously takes longer) but she got pregnant (this was the lady's 8th try, but 1st in our clinic). I don't care what they do as long as it works    I am staying positive...this is the first hurdle as Lola says.... a mere bump in the road.. I'll be fine  Saturday will be a good day!
BTW, congrats on your DH's career move :D

Lola....excellent news on the unspeakable outcome    Way to go Dr Jones...You're the best....I bet you feel relieved and can enjoy life now
I watched episode 9 of Grey's last night.... excellent

Steph...come back...you're needed!

Jen: your job certainly sounds interesting and challenging....I can now understand the sleepovers. My cousin was a nanny...and also got to travel. Lucky you! Where were you exactly in Switerland? And for how long? I remember you mentioning Crans Montana....
You sound very perky... good for you.... third time lucky.... I would so love 2006 to be our year and we all get what we rightfully deserve

Well.... I am very boring... as I don't have a job... My current position remains the ultimate babymaker
Naturally, I worked when we were living in Switerland... I was the webmaster of an international organisation which is famous for their annual business meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Not sure whether you have heard about it? It was a very exciting position with a fabulous team... I really miss it but life is not always predictable and we had to move out here for DH's career once Swissair went bankcrupt and Swiss International Airlines was not financially stable.

Anyhoo... will be back later to check in....

Walshy... everything will be fine.... keep calm.. your littles ones are perfect fighters.... trust them.

Love,

Little R

 yehaaaaaaaaaaaa some good news for a change

Walshy - Brilliant news bout your embies. I agree with Little R, stay away from the web and just do some positive thinking, its going to work a treat, Friday here we come.
Great news about your hubbies job, how do you feel about loosing the house though?
Couldn't agree with you more about it being hard to deal with seeing others mistreating their own kids. The kids in my unit all have parents who misuse drugs or alcohol, this comes first. The craziest thing is we have a child whos parent could have him back at any time but doesn't really want him???????? they don't deserve their kids.

Lola - Knew you would have no probs in the exam room. As for the male Dr, i thought they were meant to be gorgeous??????

Little R - Saturday is the day, i can feel it. You'll be all thinned out by then (so you do have something fat, i found it yippee haha). Glad you trying to stay positive, this is going to be your month.

Can't wait for our first BFP. We just need to get one then we will all follow.
Can go to face my lovely yp this afternoon at work with a smile on my face.

I'm not sure what to do, can wait for my Dr app in May to discuss my 2nd cycle or can be pushy and phone and see the Dr for 20 mins before she goes into surgery(she suggested this). I would like to see her as early as possible because i feel i can't properly move on to number 3 until no 2 has been dealt with, but don't like to be pushy. What do you think girls?

Also very confused because during my 1st cycle i had AF as normal but this time i had spotting about 3 times a day but no AF and still have not had AF. :? Very confused and need some answers. Also in between cycles do you guys still take your folic acid?

Thanks, catch up tomorrow

Love Jen x
