Hi Addison- congratulations!!! I had my 1st ultrasound on the end of week 5. It just looks like a jelly bean, a black hole!! I saw the heartbeat on the end of week 6 and it still looked like a jelly bean but bigger with a little white flicker. It was really cool and you should be really excited for April 28!!!!

I am anxious for my first scan on May 4. I learned a new lesson yesterday...never go to the grocery store when you're pregnant and hungry. I bought so much junk and of course I had to try everything as soon as I got home. I feel like I am eating everything in sight!
I just wish I actually felt pregnant. When does the morning sickness start? BRING IT ON! I am tired of worrying about every little twinge and tingle I feel. And, I want to know how many are in there! I have never been so worried or so excited about anything in my entire life!

AMD - i hear you! I feel very anxious too. Most of you are lucky that your docs/clinics do your scans so soon. My clinic has mine scheduled for May 8 - at which time I will be 7 1/2 weeks! The exciting part is that I should be able to see the heartbeat by then!
Jessica - good luck for tomorrow. I am excited to hear how it goes - we want all of the details!

One of my dh's friends was completely drunk - and he kept coming up to me and hanging on me saying " you aren't drinking cuz your pregnant - I know it". And I just played it off b/c I didn't want to lie. It was very stressful - lol! I was happy to go home that night!
We decided to wait until after 1st scan to tell everyone (our close family members and a few close friends already know) but that seems like an eternity from now!!

Hey Everyone!
Some how I missed the Waiting for the first scan topic.. But im here now.. and Patiently ( ha ha ha) waiting for he first scan.
Actually right now I am unpatiently waiting for my doctors office to call me and tell me what my second HCG level test is.. and if I can stop taking the progesterone shots.
Pills, Spray, Suppositories... anything but the shots.. I can't even walk half of the time.. I spend most of my days sitting on a heating pad.
I think this is a clever way for the doctor to make me take it easy.
I was told that my first scan would be when my HCG levels are past 2000. today?? Maybe.. I would love for them to call me.. Its already 1:30.. what are they waiting for... LOL

The 2ww is a nice pre-emptive walk in the park for the eternity that is waiting for the scan (see there is a reason for some of this crap after all!) Its so neat to hear the jellybean viewing excitment.
.... funny and familiar to hear the desperation to get intimate with the white ceramic throne (the loo and throwing up!)
It may happen, hit me around 7 wks, and if it doesn't then truly ... count yourself lucky! It sucks feeling ill 24/7!

Sue, Krista and Bella we are almost at the end of the first tri!!!! If I knew how to do those BB champagne popping celebration things, I would be setting them off big time.

And to boot I have 2 inch roots and terrible hair, don't want to get it dyed, and my partner is Maori, so I happen to also be blessed with a cultural protocol that means I can't cut my hair until the baby is born

Hi everyone!
So I had my first scan and boy am I surprised!!! Apparently I have two gestational sacs and 3 babies, right now!!!
Baby B = 1 baby with strong heartrate of 115bpm (which is great for 6 wks)
Baby A = identical twins - one heartrate is 84bpm (not so great) and the other baby we will need to see at 8 weeks - it is right next to a blood vessel so it is hard to measure at this size...
So for now I have three babies - so far 1 with a real strong prognosis - So I over joyed, guarded and suprised! Me and DH are not going to get attached to the idea of three right now - not til we see more defenite results of the baby A twins....

Mel - i can't believe we are all nearly at the end of the 1st tri, don't think i will believe it until my scan on the 10th May, when i will be nearly 14 weeks. I bought a doppler the other day off ebay to try and put my mind at rest, hopefully will be able to hear the sound of the heart very soon. the worrying never gets easier.
