Driving Myself Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Ladies,

I am new to this site, I am 33 yrs old- well for another few months anways- HA HA. Well I am writing becuase I am driving myself crazy, and just looking for support. DH is wonderful, but a man only really understands somethings!! Anyways a little hx, This is my second round of IVF, MY first IVF was in 7/05, had 2 embies, both originally took, but by 6 weeks one vanished, but I have a wonderful little boy now who is just over one!!!! Well I am now in the process of my 2ww for my second round of IVF/ICSI, this time though I only had one embie-5 day transfer- blasto, which looked great according to the embrologist- Transfer was on 4/15, so I am now 7DPT, well this is why I am going out of my mind, The last cycle I had, I started doing HPT's- yes those evil pee sticks-on 11DPO, which was a 3DT, I was already getting +++++++++, to my amazement!!!!! Well that kept my calm during the rest of my 2ww until my HCG beta was performed. Well this time I started testing 3 days past my 5 day transfer, and got failt positive, but did not get excited because I figured well hey, the trigger shot must still be active, sure enough becuase on day 4 (9DPO) it was BFN, well I have been testing everyday since--YES I should own stock in HPT"S!!!!! Well on 10DPO again neg. 11DPO again neg-see why I should own stock? The test I took were ept, clear blue easy, accuclear, and a wallgreens brand. well guess what I did the morning (12DPO)- yes I did took 3 more HPT's, again all neg. I dont know why I keep torturing myself, I am sick to stomach, I just feel at this moment that this one embie did not take, I cant understand why last time I tested on day 11 and got positive.

I had my hormones checked yesterday, which is standard at my clinic, and my Estrogen was 197- they said it was good and my progesterone level was 65, which they was good, so hormones are good enough to support pregnancy...........Has anyone else test early and got BFN than continue testing to finally get BFP? and if so what was your time line? Please help, any advise appriciated!!!

I am happy to see I am not the only one taking tests! As of this afternoon, I have taken 6 tests. I started testing 2 days after a 3 day transfer, which I knew at the time was too early. I have taken one daily since then. Each has been negative.

One of the girls on here did tell me that based on her numbers the day she had her blood test (which turned out to be BFP!), a home test would not have shown up until the previous day. So, I think we are just jumping the gun. But who can blame us???

Just wanted to add that during your first cycle your HCG levels could have been higher due to the 2 embies implanting - which would have made your test positive sooner. Since you only had one transferred this time it could just be that the level isn't high enough to detect yet.

You have history of this working for you so I wouldn't give up hope. Good luck - hope you get BFP!!

I know I need to keep PMA but as you already know that is very hard, I have been peeing on those damn pee sticks everyday 2-3 times a day, thinking that things will change, The wallgreens brand that I took yesterday tested faint positive, even did another one, ran it under water to see what would happen, and it was neg, husband saw too!!! But than tested with the accuclear which is suppose to be the same as the wallgreens and got a BFN. As not to stop there I peed again on the wallgreens brand this am, to see if line at least got darker, nope still very faint, so peed again on clearblue, accuclear and fact plus----BFN!!! I am driving myself to be sick--- Did you do any hpts and if so when did they come up positive and what were your number and how many days past ovulation did they do your beta? Did you have AF cramping on/off?

A faint positive is a positive!!

If your were getting negatives and you know that your Trigger HCG is ot of your system.. Then a positive is a positive.

I took a bunch of tests.. ( not as many as you ) But a bunch..

At 4 days past collection.. I tested got a positive for the trigger shot. 5 days past collection and the morning of my transfer got a negative.

I waited 5 days.. I figured this would be the very first day I could see anything.. ( which it wasn't) This would be at 9 dpo.. I got a negative.

The tests I used measured starting at 25 hcg.. Call the company and they will tell you what your tests measure.


At 12 days past collection I got a faint line using first morning urine.
at 13 days past collection I got another Faint line using frist morning urine
on day 13 I said the heck with it.. I took one of the Pregnant/Not Pregnant read out EPT test that measures starting at 50 hcg and I got a pregnant.. That was the end of it for me.

I tested day 14 and got an HCG level blood test of 179.

I was too chicken (just ask Danielle - she'll tell ya ) to take an HPT until the night before my blood test. I had trigger shot on 3/28, egg collection 3/30, and 5 day transfer on 4/4. I took and HPT in the evening on 4/12 (a First Response) - and it had a faint positive line. So faint I almost didn't see it until I held it up to the light. The morning of 4/13 - I took another First Response and a Clearblue Early Pregnancy Test. They both were positive with darker lines. I just figured my morning urine had more HCG in it. When I got my blood test back - my HCG was 107.

I had AF type cramps during my whole 2ww - and still get them off and on. This is a very common sign in early pregnancy. I had no spotting at all during implantation - but I know a lot of women get it and go on to get BFPs.

If you got a positive on the Walgreens test - that is a good sign. It is more common to get a false neg then a false positive.

Well I called my clinic this am, the doctor told me that I really should be testing a more definitive positive since it has been 14DPO and I transferred a 5 day embie, he said to come in on wednesday to check my HCG level but it pretty sure it will be negative and at that point will take me off meds so I can have visit from AF!!!! Have been crying all morning, I guess I was suspecting it, I really did that by day 14 I should have a more + sign on the hpt since my hormone levels should be at least 50 especially since implantation should have occured last week sometime.. Well thanks again, I guess I need to call DH at let him know the news...... Hope your pregnancy is going well!!! It is so exciting I know, is this your first?

Yes this is my first pregnancy. We have been trying for 4.5 yrs and I had tubal surgery 2 yrs ago that didn't work. Our doc recommended going straight to IVF. I was extremely lucky that it took on the first try. I know i still have a long way to go - but this is the happiest I have ever been. I have my first scan on 5/8 and will get to see one, maybe two, heartbeats.

Listen, I know I am not a doctor - but isn't yours jumping the gun a little bit? I mean did you tell him you had two tests show a faint positive? I know, just from reading this site, that a lot of women have had negative HPTs and gone on to get a positive in the blood test. That is why the general opinion on here is to stay away from the HPTs all together - they can be evil If you scroll thru some of the old threads and read them - you will see what I am talking about. I just can't believe he would be so negative toward you without even doing the test first!

I am sorry you are crying and upset - I can understand why but I still think it is too early to tell - especially with two faint positives.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you anyway - I think your doc might be wrong on this one.

That is very exciting, I want to offer you a bit of advice, something I truly believe in, ENJOY YOUR PREGNANCY, dont worry about every scan, I know it is hard, but remember people who get pregnant without problems, dont usually get scans early, have betas done, they just do hpts and make there appt to see the OBGYN!!! What I am trying to say, once they told me I was pregnant the worrying did not stop, but I was way more relaxed and enjoyed saying to myself over and over I AM PREGNANT, I AM PREGNANT whoopi, I know you will now worry about the scan, but remember the only thing different about your pregnancy and I mean the only thing different is you had some assitance to get the egg and sperm together, other than that your pregnancy is the same as all those women who say oh I may be pregnant, I am 3 days late (hate those women)----- Anyways I appriciate your shoulder to cry on, I think my doctor is right, I am a Registered Nurse and I am pretty familiar with the levels of pregnant women, and I really should be testing more definitive on the hpts, I mean why would the wallgreens say faint positive, but all the others say BFN, and the fact plus states it test at 25ius, and it was neg!!!! I just does not make any sense to me, except wallgreens is playing a creul joke- Ha Ha!!!! Especially a 5 day transfer, doctor states implantation should definitely have occured last week!!!!

Well if your doc is right then I am truly sorry to hear that. Are you going to try again? I know it is probably too soon for me to be asking that. But since you have a son already as the result of IVF, I would say your odds of it working again are great!

I want 2 kids. If I have one this time around (instead of twins)- I do plan on doing it again in a couple years. Of course I have to get thru this pregnancy first - lol!
