Sita, woops I should have said not soft cheeses. Infact I made that mistake yesterday. I went out with DH and ordered a brie and bacon baguette and he ordered tuna and cheddar cheese, I had to swap with him when they arrived!!

Wow, it's been a while since I have visited....there is so much going on!
First, Mitzy ~ I am so sorry to hear your news. You have the right attitude, you have to go on with life. You have been strong, most people don't understand how difficult this path is we travel. It's ok to cry, allow yourself time to grieve.
Carolyn ~ Your smileys are wonderful! They make me laugh everytime I read one of your postings. You and I seem to be in the same boat as far as follies. I feel a little lost in my clinic. I went for my first scan after starting stimmies last Friday, again today (Sunday) and now again tomorrow (so no ER for me as of yet!)
The nurse told me sometimes it takes a bit for the meds to kick in and I should be able to feel my follies growing.....what? is that for real??
I have some -- don't know how many on each ovary or how big/small they are. I feel frozen because I don't know what questions I am supposed to be asking, I just keep assuming they will tell me each time I go in. I guess I will find out more info tomorrow!

CYOT ~ You are lucky to have your own nurse answer all your questions and follow up with you. It is terrible to feel like your in the dark with all of this. I was terrified of the shots, and I started out having dh give them to me in the upper thigh and it wasn't too bad. I have since switched I to the tummy because of many bruises....and I heard it was better. I have even gotten brave enough to do some of them myself. And yet, I still can't watch the nurse draw blood from my arm -- I should be used to needles by now!

I have gotten quite irritable on the stimmies (unfortunately for dh), no wild emotions yet -- at least from MY point of view! lol. Very interested in trying acupuncture, glad to hear it's helping you....do you think it's too late for me to start? I guess I should have started before this cycle started.

After hearing you lot talk about acupuncture I had a look on the internet and found a BBC article that says acupuncture can double your chances of fertility - so I have booked myself and appointment already!
I can't tell you how much this forum is helping me through - I'm finding that just being able to share experiences with others in the same situation is very therapeutic for me

Just a very short post from me this evening.
Mitzy/Ilona - I am so sad for you. I had tears in my eyes when I read your posts over the last 24 hours. I am so sorry for you & your OH. I guess that when I looked at your profile - many things were similar. I am 39 too. Almost 40. My dh is 50 too. Both my tubes are buggered up. I feel for you. You are a strong lady. You have absolutely given it your best shot. Give youself time now to come to terms with the very hard knock that life has dealt you. I do know that over time you will bounce back as you are strong & caring. My thoughts are with you & OH right now. Hug each other hard.
Beth - no smileys today as does not seem that sort of day but glad that you like them. I saw somebody different at my clinic today and was able to get some more info. I just took advice from the ladies and asked how many follies and what size. Then when he did not tell me much - like I had quite a lot - I just stood over his shoulder and watched what he wrote down in my notes & him measuring the pictures and refused to budge!!
Cyot - Sofia - thank you for your concern/words of encouragement. I can really feel the follies growing as I am so ursting out my trousers.
Well good news is that they have grown. Biggest 20mm, a 19mm, a 18mm, some 16mm (like 4). Quite a lot. They are now worried that I may well get OHSS and that we might have to go for a total freeze but I cannot complain as at least I will hopefully have a few eggs. Anyway trigger shot is this evening at 10.30pm. Does not look too scary. Then a jab free day tomorrow. WEEEEYYY HEEEYYYY. Gish - I will not know what to do when I get up in the morning! Then go in with dh at 7am on Wednesday for ER. 1 day ahead of schedule..............completely cocked up my diary planning at work but who cares.

Have to apologize again for not being around. There’s just soooo much going on at the moment and nothing ever seems to be easy.
Brenjamie-keep up the PMA Girl. You can do it…I know it!!! Good luck and all the best for Friday…my fingers are crossed for a BFP!!!!!!!!
CarolynB-thats brilliant news...wow...can’t believe it...you are flying girl. Good luck for tomorrow…my fingers are crossed for you. Remember to drink loads of water after EC and maybe a protein drink (like athletes drink them) wouldn’t go a miss if you are in danger of OHSS. I will not be in London until next week…shame really…was hoping we could meet in Hammersmith.
CYOT-hope you are doing ok with the stimms. Drinking water before EC is important for the lining of the womb. After EC to avoid OHSS its drinking water and eating protein. Don’t exactly know why (someone told me before but forgot *g*). It’s got to do with the empty follies that fill with fluid and to flush it out or something like that.
LucyBucy-good luck with the acupuncture. Hope you are doing ok.

My blood wasn’t too good yesterday. E2 levels to low so they told me to go from 75 IU of Gonal F to 112.5 IU.

CarolynB-thats brilliant news...wow...can’t believe it...you are flying girl. Good luck for tomorrow…my fingers are crossed for you. Remember to drink loads of water after EC and maybe a protein drink (like athletes drink them) wouldn’t go a miss if you are in danger of OHSS. I will not be in London until next week…shame really…was hoping we could meet in Hammersmith.
CYOT-hope you are doing ok with the stimms. Drinking water before EC is important for the lining of the womb. After EC to avoid OHSS its drinking water and eating protein. Don’t exactly know why (someone told me before but forgot *g*). It’s got to do with the empty follies that fill with fluid and to flush it out or something like that.
LucyBucy-good luck with the acupuncture. Hope you are doing ok.

well i had an awful morning. Had my baseline scan and although it's ok to start stims tomorrow, the scan was really painful (have had loads of internal scans over last 2 yrs so know how they're supposed to feel) and they said that one ovary had a cyst on it and the other was polycystic (lots of little cysts). as if this wasn't enough, they said i may have endometriosis! this would explain all that awful stomach ache i had problems with the other week.
all of this seems to have occurred in the last 2 months and they think it may be due to the 2 years i've just had of hormonal messing about.
they took a blood sample and said that as long as the hormone levels aren't seriously abnormal, i can continue with this attempt.
still feel very down though.
please can someone update the date list for me? i start stims tomorrow (26th), have a scan on May 2nd and another on May 5th. no date for EC or ET yet though. thanks.

Coyt-I am ex cited as well that we are cycle buddies- thanks for inquiring about me.I am having two injections a day too. 20 units of Buserelin(a.k.a. suprefact) and 225 units of Gonal F pen style. The second injection of the pen cause a big 1x 1 inch bruise. You're lucky your clinic sounds very service oriented and concientious.It made me decide to page my Dr. and ask questions. thanks. Hope you have lots of follies!!!

Lucy- I am happy that your cyst is gone. Thanks for the follie fairy that is really sweet.Try to be positive about the miscarriages- if you can try to counter each -ve thought with a beautiful happy one. The book I read says to do that and they've done many studies on IVF results and emotions.

Hello to anyone I might have missed.
Well as for me, I do my injections in my tummy which is starting to get sore every night when we do the inj. I too am unsure about injecting in my legs. I got worried when I saw that most of you were getting blood work and scans done regularly- on thursday was my 1st scan- they cancelled the one expected for today and said to come back only next friday the 28th (after 8 days of stimmies). So I paged my Dr. she verified and its OK that my next scan is friday. Good! I asked about the bruising and tiredness and she said it was OK it does happen.
