New and nervous

Hi! I go for IUI in two weeks. It's the first time and I don't know what to expect. I'm so excited and nervous. My husband and I both came bafk normal for all our tests, and this is the next step. Any advice or what to expect?

Hi monicah, I'm Emma form Qld, Aus. I am also just staring my first IUI. We have been TTC for 4 years and have had all normal test (incl. a Lap) so we were given the option of IUI or IVF. Decided to go with a couple of rounds of IUI first.

I started Clomid 4 days ago and have one more day to go and then an US on friday to check how many eggs. If 1-3 eggs, I'll start blood tests every morning from day 12 to get the exact day I ovulate. If more then we abandon the cycle till next month. They call me on the day that I ovulate and we go in to the clinic. DH gives a sample and it gets washed then - IUI! Then 2ww, I guess.

That's my understanding of whats about to happen. I guess that means for me I will have a pregnancy test on may 17th.

Hi Monicah

I'll also be starting m first iui in about one month. Welcome to the board! Like you am nervous and excited at the same time. We are using donor due to male factor infertility hence the iui. I will also be given something similar to clomid to stimulate ovaries and an hcg injection to time ovulation then iu1 24 - 36 hrs later. I need 3 scan on days 2, 8 and 12. Good luck and keep in touch. I was thinking of joining the iui girls thread. You might want to do the same
