Hi

Toni & Sophie Jane, thank you both for your advice on chairs. I actually found a lady on Ebay who makes beanbag armchairs for babies complete with harnesses. She actually makes them in 3 sizes. We have got Joshua a bright yellow Winnie The Pooh chair and he loves it!!! He looks so laidback and comfortable -I think he has the bestest chair in the house.

We are busy getting ready for our holiday two and a half weeks to go, it will be so nice us spending quality time as a family for 15 days without any of the 'home stresses'. Joshua was great on the plane in October so we are hoping he will enjoy these flights too. We got him a Winnie The Pooh trainset and a Megabloks farm which we will take with us -he likes eating the people -at least it makes a change from eating the dog!!!!

I am still very up and down with my post natal depression -today has been a really bad day, but I'm looking forward to the holiday- small steps.

Kim, Sophiejane and Toni how are the babies? its hard to believe they have been out longer than they were in. Its so scary that in just a couple of months we will all be celebrating 1st birthdays.

The bestest thing EVER happened on Sunday, Joshua started giggling for absolutely no reason at all and didn't stop for at least 15 minutes. It was his first real giggle (the odd chuckle but not like this), it is the sound I have waited all these years to hear. There he was laughing like a crazy person and me tears streaming down my face with happiness. I think it was the GREATEST moment of my life, the thought of my own baby giggling instead of someone elses was something I didn't dare to think about when we were going through treatment, I wanted it so bad.

I have finally decided to move him into 6-9 month clothes, he has so many and he won't get to wear any of the jumpers etc They are still so big on him, the jeans fall down but he looks very cute in them!!!

Well I had better go, Joshua has his cuddle at 9pm so is getting a bit frustrated waiting.

Hi Jackie

i just wanted to say i know how you feel with the giggles. My two have been at it for a while now, we dont get many big giggles out of them, but when we do its so cute i cant help laughing myself. the best is when they are sitting next to each other, and they look at each other and start giggling like crazy people for no apparent reason. must be that twin vibe thing going on........................................... :D

think i will look into these bean bag chairs - sounds like a darn good idea!!

i know, isn't it strange that we have been mums longer than we were pregnant - how time flies!! my days are starting to pass in a bit of a blur - a different kind of blur than when i got no sleep. Now its a totally on the go blur!!! The twins have recently been really poorly with chest infections, and then i had it too, so its all been very hectic the last couple of weeks! it was awful - Tom was NOT his usual bubbly happy self, he whimpered all day long i couldnt bear to put him down sometimes cos the only time he seemd barely settled was when i was cuddling him! Charlotte was a lot braver - she took it all in her stride and just cried when she was thirsty, really, and when she had a bit of a temperature.

gotta go anyway as i need to eat something while the twins are napping.

Hello girls

It's been ages since I last posted I just can't believe how time is flying by !!

Am enjoying being back at work but I've been working lots of extra hours the last 5 weeks to help with cover for the office and have found it so hard to find time to sit down for a few minutes to get in touch with you all.

Thomas is very active and has been crawling for quite a while now - I need to have eyes in the back of my head !! He's got 2 bottom teeth and three at the top which look really cute. He loves being outside in the garden and likes to " help " daddy with the weeding ( in other words he has great fun ripping up perfectly good plants and flowers !! )

He seems to have a good sense of humour and it's really easy to make him laugh - he's fun to be around ( most of the time ) and I'm enjoying being with him more than words can say.

Our babies are getting more and more interesting all the time as they learn, grow and discover new things almost on a daily basis - it's a wonderful time isn't it !

Jackie - You're probably on holiday now you lucky thing !! Hope you have a wonderful time. I'm glad to hear you're making steps in the right direction with the PND - and I'm sure this holiday will help too.

Sophie - Has Freya had her baby naming day yet ? I've got to sort something out for Thomas but can't decide what to do ( not sure if I want to get him christened. )

Toni - It's horrible when they're ill - I hope the twins are better now. Thomas gets colds quite often but I think they're related to his teeth coming through. It's nice that they've got the twin vibe thing going on there, I think that's so sweet !!

Hope everyone else is doing well and that your babies are bringing you lots of joy !!

Love

Well its first birthday times for our babies. Sorry havent got time to flick through our first posts to find when they are exactly but I think Thomas is first. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all our gorgeous babies.
Freya is a delight at the moment. She's 11 months old and is crawling around getting into mischief. She is so much easier now she is crawling because she can entertain herself so much more. Still can't get her to eat much .. i think she's lost weight in the last month. She wants to feed herself but then just throws it on the floor!!! If i put a spoon by her mouth she clamps it shut tight.

She also has severe constipation so we are now trying soya milk and no dairy (plus lactulose and senna) and hoping this will work. We've seen a consultant and he's hoping she will just grow out of it. Have any of yours got this problem????

We had Freya's naming day. We did a BBQ, got a bouncy castle for the kids (even though freya was scared of it for most of the day ... she's such a drama queen!!). It was a lovely day (about 40 adults and twenty kids!!). I did a little speech but during it carl gave freya a bit of his champagne and she promptly threw up all over him. Good on her and that will teach him.

Hope you are all well. PS: we have our house on the market. Hoping to sell it and take out some equity to try ivf again!!! scaaaaarrryyy

Hi Sophie J

Thomas will be 1 on the 29th - a week Thursday - where on earth has the time gone? I think Jen's daughter was born on the 24th so Indira will be 1 on Saturday.

I don't have a problem with Thomas's eating but he doesn't eat big portions and his weight is incresing very slowly - he weighed 20lbs 4oz today and ideally he should weigh around 22lbs so he's a bit below average.

If we give Thomas banana it really bungs him up. I once gave him half a banana and he couldn't go to the loo the next day and it made him cry trying !!!

I have to agree that this age is a wonderful time. Thomas crawls around like greased lightning and can walk several steps using his baby walker. He copies things you do which is really funny so me and Steve are making sure we mind our P's and Q's cos we don't want him hearing naughty words now !!

We've had our house on the market for a couple of months now. We want to move to an area with better schools ( it's so annoying that you have to move if you want to get your kids into a decent school - it makes me so mad !! ) Your reasons for moving are soo much more exciting !!! A little baby brother or sister for Freya - it would be wonderful so wishing you all the luck in the world !!!

How are all you other gals doing ?

Hope you're well

Love

Hiya everyone,

sorry have been away for soo long. i just seem to get busier by the day with Thomas and Charlotte!

Kim - Happy Birthday for last thursday for Thomas. I did rememer as its he same day as Geoffs! But as he was 40 ive been even more rushed than usual! The two of us went out for a meal on his birthday night and Geoffs mum babysat and put the twins to bed - her first time. We had a huge bbq on the friday for everyone, family and friends.

Did you do anything nice for Thomas' 1st birthday Kim?

Jen - Happy Birthday to Indira too!!! What did u get up to?!?

Sue - Blake and Kirsten are next if im right? 5th - this wednesday? Got any plans?

Its my 2 this Thursday 6th July - i cannot believe they are nearly a yr old. Where has the time gone? It really does not seem well over a yr and a half (well a yr and 9 months!) since we were all cycling together (ivf style - not bike style! :D  )!

As its a Thursday and most people will be at work etc we are having a bit of a get together on Saturday, just a little party, a few balloons, a bit of cake, something small just for family really. Would love to make a big deal but there does not seem much of a point really. Thomas and Charlotte wont really remember it and I dont want to totally overwhelm them! Its already a big deal to me that its a yr since our miracle babies were born anyway ... that means more to me than a huge party ... but we have to mark it somehow!

After that it goes Jackies Joshua (10/7), Sophies Freya (21/7-my birthday too!), Vallis Priya (5/8), and Elizabeths Zachariah (7/8). So I'l say Happy Birthday now in case i dont make it on and, except for Sophie and Kim who are still around, and Jackie sometimes, where did everyone go???!!!

We had the twins Christened a few weeks back, May 28th. It was a lovely day and the babies were soo good for the whole thing. We got charlotte a pretty white dress and Thomas a little suit - he looked like such a litle man!! i wll post ome photos on Photo bucket soon.

And also, we had our first holiday. We went off to the east coast for 5 nights, a place near Lowestoft. May not sound very exciting, but its about all we could afford. I was dreading it as i thought it was gonna be very tiring, but it was really really lovely, we all had such a nice time! we had some nice weather, the friday was really really hot so we lathered the babies up with suncream, stuck their hats on their heads and went and built sand castles on the nearest sandy beach!! Thomas decided to eat lots of sand, id turn my head and the next second hed be sticking his tongue out of his mouth at me while it was coated with the stuff!! ud think hed learn after his first taste.... no such luck. Charlotte was interested in playing with the sand but was a good girl as far as eating it went!

We alos took them for a paddle in the sea and while both babies liked watching the tide, and Thomas liked the water rolling over his feet, Charlotte got really scared and didnt like it at al, so we went back to our sand castles and waited for Thomas and Daddy to stop playing with the water!!

We were so good with the babies sun protection but unfortunately forgot about myself, so guess who was suffering with sunburn that night?! I was the colour of a post box, i swear!!! :? :?

news? well they are both crawling around and Thomas is pulling himself up on the furniture, so i wouldnt be surprised if he took his first steps soon! They both eat quite well, but hard foods are stil a bit of a no go as Tom has 3 and a half teeth and Charlotte only has half! i get a bit scared hey wnt be able to chew properly - am i being paranoid?!?! Words - im sure they say 'hiya' if i say it first, but again they might be a bit slow in the speaking department.

anyway i can hear them waking up s id best get some food on the go. Good timing as ive just about finished............. this heat is totally wiping them out. How are you all coping?!

Love to all Birthday Babies, and mummies

Hi

Finally got back on here!!! My uncle died 2 weeks ago so I've been trying to support my mum.

We had a brilliant holiday in Morroco -Joshua was centre of attention everywhere he went and everytime we went into the restaurant in the hotel the waiters would take Joshua round all the tables to meet everybody. The hotel band had Joshua on stage playing the guitar and the keyboard player took him on stage while he was singing. The band were French /Morrocan with a very strong accent and sang in 'broken' English. So there Joshua was on stage and the guy was singing 'Feel' by Robbie williams. Unfortunately, Joshua decided it would be great fun to squeal down the microphone and giggle -he was loving it. The worse thing was he was banging on all the keys on the keyboard -which meant he was changing the chords /key of the song. the poor musician!!! A crowd had gathered and were in fits of laughter, quite a few had tears rolling down there face with laughter. In the end they managed to 'sing' 2 verses and a chorus before it got too much for the musician and there Joshua was laughing away. When they had finished there was a massive cheer!!! We got some good photos of them.

We managed to take 899 photos of Joshua, unfortunately my camera got sand in it and it broke broke. (Cost £44 to repair). I was gutted. At least everything gets stored on the memory cards. Got a lovely picture of him on the beach.

Toni I just reread your post about the twins and the sea. Joshua got 3 teeth when we were away so had a ring of slobber constantly round his mouth. The only thing is he thought it was great fun to 'splat' face first in the sand and then lift up and giggle. He looked so funny when he came up and had a circle of sand round his mouth. After 30 minutes of wiping his face and him repeating the process we just left him to it. He loved it. We bought one of those sun protection tents -a pop up one so no messing around and he was really good and sat in it for 10-15 minutes at a time before rampaging in the sand.!!!!

I can't believe all our little people are turning one. I started my cycle August 04 and it was to hard to even think about what it would be like to be a mummy and here we are.... celebrating 1st birthdays, it is so amazing!!!

Sorry to Jen, Toni, Susan and Kim for missing your special days. It sounds like you had a great time. Sophie bet your getting excited about Freya's day -I've had ideas for weeks.

We are going to have a bbq the weekend after Joshua's birthday -an open house. Hopefully we will hire a full size bouncy castle and everyone will have lots of fun. Joshua still doesn't sleep during the day so hopefully he will have a great day too. We are going to get him a battery operated mini jeep they are for one year upwards so hopefully he will be riding it around our close having lots of fun.

I can't believe I have managed a whole year and not given him any chocolate, sweets, crisps, cake, processed foods etc He loves icecream, baked and mashed potatos, raisins, chicken, peas, carrots, sweetcorn, bread, scrambled eggs, tinned mandarin oranges, rice puddings, jelly etc He even liked cucumber and pepper. The only things he doesn't seem to like is chinese food & couliflower. Joshua is very social and always smiling and watching everything around him, he doesn't sleep during the day and goes to bed at 10pm.

Joshua is tall with very big feet but he is thin so his clothes fit him for a long time, we moved him up into 6-9 clothes about 5 weeks ago he still uses a few 3-6 month things. He has so many clothes. The good thing is I am able to buy the next size up slowly so there is no major expense -I love him in dungarees.

Well, I have gone on ...and on again. Sorry for the long post. Congratulations again to Jen & Indira, Sue, Blake & Kirsten, Kim & Thomas and Toni, Charlotte, & Thomas. Hope the 2nd year is full of happiness and joy.

Sophie & Freya, Elizabeth & Zach, Valli & Priya (& partners of course) enjoy your birthdays.

Hi peeps

Jackie - Sorry to hear about your uncle, hopefully time will help you and your family come to terms with your loss.
The holiday pictures are brilliant, I love the one of Joshua singing at the keyboards. He looks like such a happy little boy, you and DH are obviously doing a great job, you must be so proud of your little man. Thank goodness for digital cameras and memory cards, not only do you save money on processing costs but you don't lose your pictures if your camera breaks.

Toni - I love Thomas in dungarees too !! Lowestoft is about an hour and a half from where we live, sounds like you had a good time. Do you live close to Lowestoft? We went to Centre Parcs with my family at the weekend as it was my mums 60th on Thomas's birthday so it was a double celebration !! I always dread spending nights away from home, you have to remember to take so much stuff and I worry that Thomas won't settle - but like you we had a brilliant time and I would love to go again sometime - it's a really baby/ child friendly place. Happy birthday to Thomas and Charlotte for tomorrow, hope you have a lovely day on Saturday. We'll be celebrating with our familys on Saturday too so I'll think of you all celebrating at the same time.

Sue - Happy Birthday to Blake and Kirsten - hope you all have a lovely day today !!

As we spent last weekend with my family we're having a bar-b-q this Saturday for both familys to celebrate Thomas's birthday properly with a cake and balloons etc... Lets hope it's a nice day - weather forecast looks promising at the moment.

Love to all

Hi everybody

Toni looked on photobucket -my goodness aren't the twins gorgeous, you must have been so proud!!!

Julie -Congratulations' on the birth of Caitlin, I bet she was well worth the extra wait.

Kim -Hope Thomas is alright. Hope you had a good celebration BBQ for his birthday.

Sophie - I don't think you have posted for a few weeks, hope you are ok, probably enjoying the sun (wow! is it hot or what!?!)

Joshua was 1 year old on July 10th. We took him to Twin Lakes in Melton Mowbrey. It is a farm /adventure place. Joshua loved it especially the psycho donkey -I love donkeys and he 'eeyored' all day long. They had ride on tractors which Joshua enjoyed playing on (I have added a few picture on photobucket). They also had an adventure playground. We went and the place was almost empty so Joshua got to play on the swings for about 80 minutes. He was giggling so much. We started off all gentle, soft pushes and ended off very high fast pushes, the higher and faster the more he was squealing with excitement.

We bought Joshua an electric quad bike, he looks so grown up on it. Most people are surprised you can get a bike for a 1-3 year old. He started pressing the button on his own now, this is weird seeing him suddenly moving on his own. He likes the lights on it too.

Last week we had a party for him. We had a BBQ and bouncy castle celebration. Actually we had 2 bbq, the full size bouncy castle, a slide on my friends garden, climbing frame, paddling pool and gazebo on our front lawn. About 80 people came and partied from 10am (my friends 4 year old was looking out his bedroom window for the bouncy castle to arrive). The party ended at 11.45pm.

Most of the close where we live came over and after the other guests had gone we all sat on the grass talking, and them lot getting p$@"ed!!! I don't drink alcohol because of all my meds. I was in the kitchen most of the day, they chomped the way through over 200 sausages, 200 burgers, 70 pizza slices, chicken drumsticks, chicken satay sticks, ribs, nearly 250 batches, salad, and nachos. Also nearly 50 bottles of fizzy drinks, we supplied 5 crates of beer and quite a few people came with beer too, we also supplied orange juice and wine, a fridge has NEVER been that full. We had a babybath, large crate and my friends recycle bin full of cold water with the drinks in and a shedload trying to protect from the heat. Joshua had 2 cakes and we didn't get any!!! I am so glad it went ok although we had to restock with food 3 times. (so much for advice of 1 burger and 1 sausage per guest!!!)

The kids kept dragging me on the bouncy castle -I started off jumping really high, by the end of the day I was just laying on the floor and letting them bounce me. I caused a mass pile-up on the castle , only slightly on purpose!!! You get everybody to hold hands really tight and say last one standing wins. Then everybody bounces at the same time. As soon as one person falls (usually straight away) everybody goes. It is very funny, especially when you have dragged someone on.

Everybody said they had a brilliant time -I guess this is true due to the part lasting just under 14 hours!!! We have very good neighbours, it was all outside.

It was great having the party not only was it to celebrate Joshua's birthday but to thank everybody who knew about our treatment for the support they gave us. (myparents didn't want to come but that was ok). I was amazed how many people came I think people are still really happy for us.

We came back down to earth with a bump the next day when my sister came round and kicked off. The guests seemed to have split into 2 groups and by the end of the day it was beginning to turn quite hostile. But we enjoyed the day so that was all that mattered. Considering this one group stayed nearly 10 hours and the other 13 hours.

Joshua loved all the constant attention so he wasn't aware of the bad feeling. We never saw him all day he was claimed by my niece and 2 girls off the close, they adore him and we know he is safe with them. They took him walks a few time because it was so hot. I had a major cold, the postman called first thing and said 'bloody hell you look awful!!!' He laughed when I said we were having a party for the mini-monster that day.

Anyway, waffled on for too long again.
