I just finished my 2ww last week and got a BFP on Friday from my blood test. Hang in there! Is seems like forever, huh? I didn't have any symptons at all. I was tired and pee'd a lot too (but figured that was from drinking so much water). I still don't really have any symptons. I feel "different" and might wonder if I was getting sick if I didn't know I was pregant. But nothing major. Some people have symptons, some don't. Some bleed and have cramps and get a positive, and some have those same symptons and get a negative. So don't let the signs drive you crazy trying to figure them out. Oh, and stay away from the hpt's. They just add confusion anway. Good luck this week through the rest of your wait. You're in the home stretch! I have you get a BFP!!!!

We are on the same boat. I had my tranfer on 3/8. I have some sharp pain around my pubic area. I feel like my breast has enlarge a little ( but it could me just going crazy). The weekend was horrible because I did not have anything to do. I have 0 patient by nature. All I can say hang in there. And if you believe in god. Player is the best solution right now... kristiA, did you try to move less after the embryo transfer?

Post by SASA »

I have heard from friends who have succeeded in IVF that they tried to move less and move slow after the embryo transfer, do body movement affect success rate?

Sasa,

I had Embryo transfer on 4/4. My clinic advised me to take it easy for two days and stay home from work for 3. The day of transfer and following day - I laid on the couch and only got up to pee. My hubby took care of pets, made my meals, and basically waited on me hand and foot. The 3rd day I stayed home from work and just took it easy. I didn't lay down all day - but I kept activity to a bare mininum. I spent the rest of my 2ww doing basically the same thing. My clinic advised to refrain from exercise and intercourse and avoid "jarring" motions. I had cramps and twingy pains in my uterus and ovaries for a week - still get them on occasion. I swore I was getting my period and IVF didn't work - although I had no bleeding or spotting at all. Turns out I got a BFP on 4/13 so what I did worked!!

Also - my clinic has had me taking a low dose aspirin every day which they said can aid in implantation b/c it increases blood flow to the uterus.

Just take it easy and treat your body as if you are pregnant! I know how hard it is to wait - and it's easy to drive yourself crazy analyzing every symptom. I was borderline crazy during that time - loL! But hang in there - test day will be here before you know it! GOOD LUCK :D

Lisa B,

Congratulations for your BFP!!
I am so glad about your good news!

I wish I have not gone out for dinner and walked down some long stairs the night after ET. My clinic told me to go for dinner the night after ET to relax a bit. I did - after laying in bed for the afternoon. Due to abdomenal pain after the egg retrieval 2 days ago, I walked very slowly that night. The following two days were basically spent in bed rest due to serious pain in abdomen. The 4th day after ET was basically laying in bed in the morning and sitting in my office in the afternoon. I hope the embryos can manage to stay inside the womb & implant.
If I had known of your advice earlier, I would not have gone out that night. I will do the same as you did in the next ET if I fail this time. I have 4 frozen embryos.

Thanks!!!!

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Think about it - how many women get pregnant naturally and have no idea - and they go about their normal active lives with no clue - and still get a positive result. I think a lot of IVF doctors recommend taking it easy because they figure it wouldn't hurt anything to do so. We are all investing so much time, emotion, and money into this that it is best to take every precaution possible.

I am sure that you going out to dinner, etc. did not hurt anything - ecspecially if your clinic told you it was ok.

When you say abdominal pain - do you mean cramping? Or are you getting actual sharp pains?

Just take it easy and try to imagine your little guys in there hanging on! That is what I did - I was talking to them from the day they were transferred and I would visualize them burrowing in to my uterine lining. Anytime I would move at all my hubby would say "careful! They're trying to hang on in there!" May sound crazy - but it made us laugh and got us through it and we got a good result in the end.

I had just as many down, negative days as I did good days but, for the most part, I didn't worry and I thought positively.

Lisa B, thank you so much for your encouraging words and useful info.

I have started to communicate with the lovely living being inside my womb, no matter it's still there or not after the shaky journey.
I will not worry too much and shall wait and pray until the test day.
In a double blind research, prayers by others did increase the pregnancy rate of IVF by 60%! Amazing.

Oh my goodness - bless your heart! They make you wait 17 days after transfer? I only had to wait 9 and I thought that was hard. Good news is - if your AF stays away for another week or so, you can almost bet it's a BFP!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

LisaB75-thanks! :D Only 9 days you've waited? :o I thought we need to wait a minimum of 14 days for the hormone to get up to a level sufficient for the urine test. Did you do a blood test?
