Vasa Previa

Post by Cla »

I've just been reading an atricle in my local paper about a fundraising event after a local couple's newborn died from Vasa Previa. I'd never heard of it so I googled it and have looked at a few websites.
Increased women at risk include those who've concieved by ivf so I wondered if any of you were given any information on this, and whether you've had any tests?
It says that a colour doppler ultrasound can be used in diagnosis, but doesn't say at what stage of pregnancy this should be done?

I realise it's rare but I don't know whether I should be concerned with this or not? Seems silly that simple tests can be performaned and we don't take advantage cause we don't know about them?

Any of you wise shed any light on this for me?

Thanks!
