New girl on the block

Post by ELAINEJ »

I was told about the site from a girl I met at the ARGC and she was right when she said it was a really helpful site. Reading thru the messages I'm starting to feel better about myself, knowing that I'm not the only one going thru this.

I'm 41, my partner 43 and after trying for over 2 years we tried ISCI for the first time. Unfortunatley I found out last Wednesday that it had failed. I cryed buckets, but went for a run and tried to think positively. I was doing fine up until yesterday - I had a really sad day and started to wonder why I couldn't conceive - was I such a bad person?

I have a post-transfer consultation in a couple of weeks, so hopefully everything will be OK for us to try again. I really feel sad for all of you that are on your 3rd/4th/5th attempts, I also admire your determination and hope I too can continue thru the treatment to get the baby that we so desparately would love.

Elaine x

Elaine

I would just like to welcome you to the site, its a very emotional rollercoaster IVF but you can't give up we have to keep going. I guess I am one of the lucky ones I had ICSI 1st attempt and it was successful for me I am now 16 weeks pregnant but I do feel sorry for people who have to keep trying and trying because I just wish for all us who want a family so much it would just happen.

Love
Shell.
xx

Hi just wanted to add my hello too
This site is a god send.

We have just had first ICSI ( we have severe male factor, after childhood illness basically wiped out dh's sperm production) - it failed and am going in for consultation today.

So am in similar boat to you I guess. Come and chat anytime - always someone here to help...or sympathise!

PS- totally know how you feel about having good days and then a shitty day creeps up on you from nowhere. I think it just gradually gets better. I hope it does!

Cazx
