My scan went well this morning, amazingly since I've bled everyday bar a break of 6 days since March (yes March) 19th for either m/c or AF reasons.

I'll give myself a shot tomorrow and then hear on Tues how the thaw has gone. Not opimitistic but if either embie survives, I'll have ET on Wed at 2pm (inbetween college and work). I'm not taking anytime off although my mum is arriving for a visit, by coincidence, the next day so I'll have extra hands if I need them.

Lisa, our timing must be very similar?

Debra,
Yes, our timing is near identical. Our embies are being thawed on Tuesday as well but our transfer will be the same day since ours were frozen on day 6. They were all blasts preparing to hatch. They say we can expect 2 to survive since the thaw rate is 70% survival. My E2 was 618 yesterday so i'm staying on 6mg's of EV and PIO plus vag supps. And of course doxycycline. Were yours frozen on day 3? Best of luck! I'm glad i'll have someone to suffer the 2ww with me.

Lisa, snap!

Mind you we're completely 'au natural' this cycle so no meds, except for the HCG tomorrow. The consultant even asked if I wanted to use Crinone/progesterone pessaries afterwards. I said I'd decide if and when ET goes ahead.

ET has been moved to 0830 so I'll go straight to uni from the clinic, class will help take my mind off it all, hopefully.

Yes we can share the 2ww although your's will be much shorter than mine as yes, we've got Day 3 frosties. I'm also determined not to get remotely optimistic, it hurts too much. I know you know exactly how I feel.

Here comes try No.9...doesn't that sound incredibly naive?

Hope everyone is doing well,
Debra

Second round of FET

Post by children »

Hi Ladies,

Sorry that I have been hiding for a while. I thought it could not have been too difficult to deal with the 1st failure of FET, but it was in fact much harder than I thought!!! What I have done so far are: 1) bought few hundred dollars of books to read: massage, diet, yoga, and everything else about fighting with infertility. I had been in denial for a long time. I finally admitted that I have to get myself educated; 2) going to massage therapist - 1x/wk, although my DH does not believe this, he said at least it does not hurt, as long as it comforts my mind; 3) had a post-consultation with my RE and it cost $100/30 min! 4) going out every weekend for outside activities, climbing for now, when the whether still allows; 5) got a lawyer to deal with my greencard case, since it did bother me - no job, not money for ivf.

So, I am back on track and started my BCP for a week now. I am waiting for nurses to call for my next FET schedule and will report the result soon. I am very sorry for Jo and everyone else just got bad news recently. Yet, let's keep hoping....

Jo, so sorry to hear your news. Hope you'll make some time to take extra good care of yourself as you grieve this loss.

Lisa and Debra - good luck to you both for successful ETs!

Back from Arizona, nice tan to show for it. Suppression check gave a green light. Start injections tomorrow. Glad to be off the bc pills.

Hi all

Debra - naive? no I don't think so - you know it can work for you maybe that's why you have kept going when others ie me have fallen by
the wayside. Good luck for the thaw next week and to Lisa too.

I am not sure where to put myself on the list now - the next step is decided in that there will be no next step. I am gradually beginning to accept this but I know it will take a long time. I found out someone else at work is pg but I felt nothing. When I see the girl who is having her baby when I should be having mine I want to run and hide, so I'm not quite over that one yet. It seems so unreal that there was a time when I was pg, albeit only very short lived. I still mutter under my breath when I see a pg woman. Maybe I always will.

Trying to keep busy and have things to look forward to - we have our few days in Mallorca booked for June and a weekend in France for my birthday in July.

I'm still keeping my eye on you lot so let's have some good news soon please!

Lots of love
Kat xx

#2 - cancelled - DH accident

Hello everyone,

sorry I haven't been around much lately, but hoping to catch up with you all today.

Hi Kat, good to hear that you are looking forward to your trips to Mallorca and France. I wouldn't want you to "fall by the wayside" so perhaps we could add a new heading on our list "Good friends not currently seeking tmt". What do you think. You could add your name to that list, and have any significant forthcoming events for you shown also. Your support has been of a great help to many of us in the past, so now it is our turn to support you.

Take care honey,
LOL Bev xxx

Anna, 50 x 10 and 11 yr olds!!! What a week. Hope you have now recovered. Not long to go now for your appointment at Barcelona. I really hope it all goes well for you. x

Randa, when are you hoping for EC and ET this time. I am a bit unsure of your protocol now. if you started injections on 29th, does that mean that collection will be mid-May? Good luck for a bumper crop.

Yasmina, back on the roller coaster eh? Wishing you lots of luck for a successful outcome this time.

Debra, really really hoping that this one works for you. Good luck for Wednesday.

Lisa, the same goes for you. Good luck.

Robyn, I think you are right to explore every avenue, before you decide to go or not go for donor egg. The only thing I would say in favour of the donor egg route is that it wouldn't mean that you are not going to be able to have YOUR baby. It would still be yours, the donation after all, is just a few "stem cells" which will develop into yours and your DH's child, that you will grow in your womb, ok the DNA might be different to yours, but what's that really? Anyway, not trying to sway you one way or another, explore everything, then you can make informed decisions. Good luck with it.

Well all, I have now done my day 19 injection shot yesterday, and started the meds to increase the blood supply to my uterus. Apparently AF will arrive in about 2 weeks time, then I can start the meds to help prepare my endo. Looking to go back to Kiev possibly around the 26th May. I had the details of my donor sent through last week. She is 23 yrs old (half my age - shriek) same height and hair and eye colour as me, although she is quite a bit lighter in weight than me - but that's ok as my weight is not due to my build but to too much choc cake! She has a 4 yr old son of her own, and is a Librarian.

It does seem a little bit strange to see the details of this person actually on paper so to speak, trying to imagine her going about her daily business, never knowing her, especially when she has the potential to be doing something so absolutely fantastic for me, and giving me that family of my own that I have longed for, for so long.

Well that is all my news,

Hi to everyone else on the thread, hoping we all get there in the end.

Bev,
I'm so glad you got all the info on your donor and 23! That's awesome! I've got a good feeling about this. Best of luck.
Debra,
Be sure to let us know how your embies are doing tomorrow.
Not sure what time our transfer is but won't know about our embies until then. Please everyone cross your fingers, pray, think healthy chromosomes....sticky thoughts.....yada....yada....yada..... we need ALL the help we can get. This is our last shot. Wouldn't it be awesome if they called us today with a foster baby? Would take my mind off the horrible 2 ww and thereafter as well. Horrible thing to wish for a baby to be taken from it's mother but it will be for it's best physical and emotional health. We will love her/him unconditionally regardless of it's DNA.
Hugs everyone! Here we go again!!!

Hi Girls

Move has been a nightmare we are just beginning to settle in.

We have a real coal fire and lit it yesterday it was so cosy.

Have just managed to log on really breifly as we are having problems getting broadband connected so have had to rely on dial up. Not much good to my DP as his work relys on broadband.

Anna I wanted to wish you GOOD LUCK for your trip hope its really successful.

Bev Hope your cycle is doing great and that you soon will be on your trip.

Sorry I havnt been able to keep up with everyone and my heart is with everyone.

Will hopefully be able to drop in soon and catch up properly.

We are still considering DE but have to wait for our follow up here and see if they will release my notes for DE abroad. We se consultant on 9th May so will be able to start making decisions then.

Regards
Gail

Anna, good luck at IM. Hope to hear good news when you get back.

BevT, it must make things much more 'real' now the donor details are starting to come in, does it???

Lisa, best of luck today. I hope you get a good thaw and ET goes smoothly.

One of our two made it so ET is 0830 tomorrow for the remaining 4 cell, which hopefully will be 6 or so by the time it goes back.

hugs
Debra.

Debra, really glad that one of your frosties made it, will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that your transfer goes well tomorrow. Yes, you are right, now we have the details of our "Ukranian Angel" it does all feel much more real. I am still dithering about booking flights and accommodation though, worried that if I book them, and AF is late......! I am a bit confused with the whole process though, as I have not been completely down-regged for timing, it seems that at Isida they match you to a donor with the same cycle dates. I guess I just feel a little bit out of control being so far away. I can always e-mail Laura at Isida, but am concsious of bombarding her with silly questions all the time. Oh well, I will just have to bite the bullet and book the fllights - perhaps I need to find ones that I can change if necessary eh? Anyway, will be thinking about you tomorrow.x

Gail, glad that you are now in your new home, one less thing to worry about! Let us all know how your follow-up appt goes. I am sure they will at least copy your details for you, so you can take them with you to another clinic. Only a week to wait!

Lisa, thanks for your good wishes, I know, 23 seems so young. I am not complaining though, as hopefully her "young eggs" will do the trick for us. I will be keeping everything crossed for you and your embies. When is your transfer? Will be thinking of you.x

Anna, hurry back and tell us your news!!

Love to all the rest of our crowd
