October Due Dates

Post by EYCI »

Hi,

I just thought I'd start this topic to check in with some of you who are due around the same time as I am. I feel in limbo right now with being past the 1st trimester, but most of the 2nd trimester posts are people way out at 20+ weeks.

How is everyone doing? How have your appointments been? Are you poking out yet? How are all the DH's doing? Anyone feeling movement yet?

I had my last scan at 13 weeks and all looked well. The baby was "just chilling out" and not waving hello or anything. But was all tucked up in the "fetal position." Very cute! I think I've been feeling a little bit of movement. Usually at night about 2 hours after eating I feel a little poke, kinda like a bubble popping, in about the same place. Last night DH felt it too. We laughed and said well, either he just felt the baby for the first time, or he felt my gas for the first time.

I'm still pretty nervous and probably paranoid that things could still go wrong. Probably just still anxious and concerned after losing Baby A. We could still see Baby A at the the last US, although it is now measuring slightly smaller. I wonder when it will be completely gone?

Hope all is well and hope you are all enjoying your pregnancies!

Julie,

I am sooo in your shoes right now. I'm in limbo too - there seems to be not very many of us around this time. So I was glad to see your post!

I'm not poking out or anything...just a little bit more round in the midsection. I haven't felt the baby yet - but I've been very gassy in the past week so it's quite possible some of the movements I've felt were actually the baby and not just gas!

My appts have been going well - of course we've been able to hear the heartbeat each time and the doctor assures me that things couldn't be more perfect. I'm still so concerned though - even though I know most of the risks have passed - I'm still very very paranoid.

About a month ago my dr examined me for the first time and said my cervix seemed open a bit. They ordered an ultrasound and everything measured okay. I've been to see the ob/gyn and he also assures me everything is okay...but of course that has done little to ease my mind.

It's nice to hear that things are going well for you! Looking forward to hearing your news as the weeks pass by :)

Hi there

I wanted to join this thread as I am also due in October.
How are you all feeling?
Julie, Hows things with you especially? I hope you are blooming.
I am getting quite a bump now and cannot wear normal clothes.
I am due to have a scan in a couple of weeks, so I am really hoping they can tell me the sex. I will be 16 weeks by then.
Also, has everyone heard the heartbeat?? I haven't been offered that yet? Should I ask if they don't offer?
Another thing, anyone suffering low blood pressure. My midwife didn't seem too worried I had this, but i'm curious as to why I have this.
Oh so many questions..... Sorry
Would be nice to hear from all you October Gals

Hi Chelle,

We are due a day apart! Julie and i are due on the same day i think?

I too have very low blood pressure and my midwife does not seem at all worried - just keeps joking that i am almost dead! Had a checkup today and it was 99/54! Each visit with my midwife she checks out the hearbeat with their dopler(spelling?) so i would get your midwife to do the same for you. It is incredibly reassuring to hear the babies heart beating away in there. After having scans nearly every two weeks it seems ages to wait for the 20 week scan.

I hope you are feeling well Julie. I was so sorry to hear your sad news but glad baby b doing well! I don't think the paranoia goes away any time soon. Once i can feel the baby moving it will be better but at moment only signs are growing boobs and thase magical shrinking clothes! I am off on holiday for 2 weeks in the sun and desperately trying to find trendy summer clothes to no real avail - does no one do a groovy summer skirt!?

Well i best go and do the grocery shopping or else DH will be having baked beans on toast for supper!

Hi Everyone :D

It seems that time is passing so slowly. I am so anxious for my next appointment to make sure that things are still going well. I know I should be enjoying it more, so I am trying to focus on that.

gregmbarry and charlie77 - So glad that things are going well for both of you!

Chelle - I heard the heartbeat at 11.5 and 13 weeks during my US. My next appt is at 16 weeks and the doc will listen for the heartbeat, but is not doing a scan at that time (unless she doesn't find the heartbeat  ) I'm sure if you ask at your next appt that they will let you listen. I also had "low" bp at the last appointment. 100/60. Maybe we are all just very calm and relaxed right now compared to the treatment phase. My doc was not at all concerned and was glad to see it low.

Saraid -- Lucky you to be going on vacation! Can you take the rest of us with you?

I hope you all are feeling great, eating well, and getting plenty of rest. Anybody exercising regularly? I'm training for a fundraising walk in August that is 60 miles over 3 days (and camping out at night). No, I don't actually plant to walk the 60 miles like I've done the past 2 years! But, it is a goal to walk 30 of the miles so that I do some training this summer and hopefully stay in shape. Right now I can comfortably walk 3 miles at a time.

So, are your clothes getting tight? Mine are, and I'm drowning in maternity clothes (just bought a couple things this weekend.) I'm going to have to get some longer shirts so that they hang over my pants and I can leave them unbuttoned.

Good to hear from so many! Good thought going your way for continued blessings!

Hi all october girlies, just wondering how everyone is, and if anyone has felt any movements yet, or thought about having a private scan at 16 weeks as next scan is not till 21 weeks, which is too long to wait for me, but then again im very impatiant, as i want to know the sex, so we can think of names and start to plan.
Keep well and safe

Hi Everyone!!

Well things sure do slow down after you enter the 2nd trimester. It seems as though it's a crawl. Oh well, I just keep telling myself in another few weeks you'll be half way...wow!

I haven't felt any movement yet...well I guess I shouldn't say that. I do feel fluttering every now and then but I am also quite gassy - so I'm not sure which is which.

Charlie, wow great idea to get a private scan! I think I'll look into that myself - my next scan isn't for another 5 weeks - seems like forever.

My clothes are getting tighter and tighter. Yes, I'm like you all - on the hunt for longer shirts so my elastic waistband doesn't show and I can leave my pants unbuttoned. Today was the first day I went to work with my pants unbuttoned and unzipped...lol. But I'm loving feeling a little bit round in the belly - definitely going to start taking belly pics every few weeks.

Keep us all up to date - I love reading about everyone and what you all are going through!

Hello all,
Hope you don't mind me joining you - I'm just about an October girl (EDD 30th Oct.) and think this thread is a good idea!
Great to read that you're all doing well and feeling very very similar to how I do. My waist has expanded beyond all recognition already (think it's because it's second time round, ie has already been 'stretched' before). Sickness (sometimes in the morning, other times in the evening) is still happening, but in a way I'm pleased, because it means that at least my hormones are still going the right way. Still very tired - then again I'm only 13 weeks, so might take a little while yet until I get some energy back!
How are you all - hope you're having a great, enjoyable and very long weekend (sorry, not you US girls...). Best wishes and lots of positive energy to your bumps!
Best,

Hi charlie77,
Well, I think the worrying never stops - I constantly worry whether everything it going OK, wether I'm over-doing things or anyhting....
The thing about the due date is really tricky, they reviewed mine already (from 4 Nov to 30th Oct). Basically, they told me that you need to count ET as being 2 weeks' pregnant, so count 2 weeks back from ET and that would be your last period (which is what all the midwives ask for, because they have no idea about IVF pregnancies) and then count from there. Does that help? Does it give you a different EDD? I'm going to do mine again and see what happens. Not that it really matters, because only about 5% of births are on the due date....!
Hope you're all having a great weekend with your bumps!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well and the bumps coming along nicely. I am trying to get the motivation to go and do some gardening but thought i would just check in here.

Finally managed to get a some great summer clothes - Oasis do 2 brilliant skirts with big stretchy waist band to take me through the entire pregnancy and as they are not maternity clothes i can wear them after!
It does seem very bizarre buying size 14/16 t-shirts though but proper maternity tops are far too huge to look like anything more than a tent at the moment.

YOu made me feel tired just reading about the amazing trek you are going to do do julie. Good luck

Nearly holiday time and i can't wait. By the time i come back we will all be due our 20 week scans - exciting. I have decided not to find out the sex as would like one thing to be a surprise. Am very lucky as so many people have offered cots etc already so won't need to buy much just finish renovating the bedroom - has been going on for 3 years and i am getting rather bored of it now.

Anyway best get on and hope to hear how you all are.

Hello,
Good to hear from so many of you :D

Glad I am not the only one who is still feeling like a worrywort. I have another appointment next week (at 17weeks) and maybe then I will start to relax "a little." Right now I am worried that I haven't gained weight in 4 weeks. So far I've only gained 2 pounds (how many kilos is that? ?) for the whole pregnancy. I'm not sick, and feel like I eat all the time... so, am I just lucky that the weight is not packing on... or, should I be worrying? I called the doc today just to see if this is bad and am waiting to hear back.

I did buy some maternity clothes 2 weekends ago. Of course, the pants are all too big and the shirts look like tents. But, by this weekend, the pants are actually closer to fitting. I guess it is hard to notice the belly change when you look at it 10 times a day but over the course of a week it was a noticeable difference.

Hope everyone is feeling well! Look forward to hearing from you all :D

Hello everyone,

I have not put on any weight either. I am actually able to wear my very low cut jeans again - this made me panic as i thought has it all gone wrong but then thought about it sensibly and my uterus is now up under my belly button so hipsters will fit again!

I really don't think i will stop worrying until i feel constant movement though.

Lucky you going for a checkup next week. i am going to bug my midwife neighbour for a heartbeat check to help my paranoia before i fly on friday.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi friends

Hope everyone is well. It's really nice to see so many on this thread.
Everyone who has not put on any weight, do not worry. I have put on loads (everywhere). When you do, your bumps are going to be beautiful and you will not be able to stop looking at it in every passing window.

Julie, you are definately not the only one who is a worrybug... I worry about every twinge, ache and rumble. I am also eating alot too. All the time in fact. Cheese is my fav at the moment oh and salt and vinegar crisps. I am glad that things are going well for you and hope that your next scan is amazing.

Saraid, thanks for the clothes tips.... I am going to a wedding in July and don't know where to get a tent, I mean a dress from.
You are probably on holiday at the mo so wont be reading this until you get back... Lucky thing.

Bina, Charlie and Gregmbarry, great to hear things are good with yourselves. Isn't everything exciting. I am really enjoying being pregnant.

I myself, have a scan on Monday 8th and I can't wait. I haven't felt any movement yet and although I keep really concentrating on it, all I can feel is wind hehe.

I went away for the weekend to York, for a Birthday treat and ended up spending a fortune on baby stuff. There is another thread somewhere on here about buying too early. I know I am still in the early days, but I don't care. We are going to have to buy so much stuff that we have to spread the cost over the next few months. It's also great fun!!!

I suppose really I should get on with some work now.

Love to all
