Hi Jane You are the first person I have seen on boards having treatment at Southampton Is this your 5th attempt at the Chalybeate or did you have other CYCLES SOMEWHERE ELSE?? Have you been happy with treatment there? Am new to this so nothing to compare them with. I have found the staff there very friendly & helpful but everything does seem very conveyor belt like....Suppose its because they see so many people I have found out more information from this site & now each time I go to clinic I am loaded with questions for them.... HAve you started your cycle yet?? Fingers crossed for you, it sounds like you have been through the mill a bit. we have male factor fertility & did our 1st ICSI cycle in May/June. Dear Sarah, Your quite right I have not seen anyone from this neck of the woods post anything either. I did the first IVF cycle at the Chalybeate(it was successful) 2nd attempt was the the Winterbourne in Dorchester as was the third attempt. 4th attempt was at the lister in London as it was egg-share. We decided to go back to the Chalybeate as it was successful the first time and this will be our last go a sort of omen. I am waiting for an appointment to see Mr Masson,as they wanted my Dr. to sent a letter of referral.But saying that my periods have all gone funny at the moment,so I think I will have to get them sorted before I can do a cycle. I will keep you posted.Like you I have found this website fantastic and I will be going armed with lots of questions.I think they might get sick of us asking all these questions but what the hell!!!! Jane Thanks for taking the time to reply. We live in Totton & I work in Southampton, Unfortuantly we are attached to NEW Forest council, health authority & do not get any funding at all so are really hoping it works for us as dont know when we willl be able to afford another full cycle. (time is not on our side, I will be 34 soon) Even another FET cost £1050!! IVF is not just stressfull but bloody expensive!! I work with someone who lives 5 minutes away in SOuthampton & they got their drugs paid for.. Life is so unfair!! Are you private too?? WHere do you live?? Dear sarah Thanks for the reply.We live in Gillingham in Dorset,although I am originally from Portsmouth. Our first go was on the NHS,but because it worked first time that is your NHS entitlement over,So all the rest have been self-Funded. We have a boy called Jack,He is 6 and a half and stricking for indepedence. Time is not on my side as I was told when we did the egg-share in London,I am old at 35 too old to do the egg-share again. Thats why we thought we would go back to Southampton as it worked the first time and this would be the last.As you said it is so bloody expensive and it is not fair. Anyway feeling positive thoughts for you both. I will let you know what happens with my consultation when I eventually get an appointment back. I have to see the Dr. as said about my periods also I will have to see him about Iron deficency as when I went to the hairdressers today she thinks I might be lacking in it,She can tell by my hair apparently!!!
