baby aspirin

Post by Terri2 »

Hello

I haven't been here for a while as have had a very bad year and been very low due to bereavement (my beautiful dog died in an accident).

however, things got better last week when I got a BFP. I had changed acupuncturists just after ovulation and she told me to take baby aspirin (75mg) as she thought it might help with spotting that I get before AF.

So I did this and got spotting this month for 3 days, then it stopped then I got this amazing result about a week later. I am still a bit stunned after trying for 2 1/2 years.

She said to keep taking aspirin for 3 months as it helps blood flow to the uterus. I completely trust her, but I keep reading conflicting stories on the internet. Some say this small dose will do no harm and some say you shouldn't take it unless told by your doctor.
My clinic actually gave me the name of this acupuncturist so I'm sure its okay but just need some reassurance.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, does anyone have any advice on what drinks/food I should avoid. I know about the common ones like soft cheese/caffeine/alcohol etc. Is there anything else. And is it okay to fly? I have a 45 minute flight to Ireland in about a months time! So many questions..........you might guess I'm new to this!

thanks
Terri

Terri,
First off,
Congratulations!
I am SOOO very happy for you!!
You deserve this wonderful miracle!
I took baby aspirin- 75mg until my 32nd week as per instructions of my doctor.
I had a history of brown discharge, and she told me baby aspirin improves blood flow to the uterus by thinning the blood a little.
I dont know if it helped, but it cetainly didnt harm me.
hugs,
smita

Thanks for your reply Smita.

Hows everything going with you and your baby?

I feel much better about taking aspirin after reading your post. I'll still check with my doctor but as I get the same as you (brown dis) I think I will just still take it anyway! I do wonder if its that that made the difference for me this month.

I was advised to take baby asprin until week 36 of my pregnancy and I'm now 40 weeks plus 3days! This is after years of trying and on my 3rd IVF attempt. I wasn't taking asprin for the first 2 attempts and am not sure if this is what made the difference this time - but who knows!!! The advice I've been given by the IVF consultant and the antenatal consultant was that it wouldn't do any harm. I will certainly try taking it again when we're ready for no 2.

Best of luck whatever you choose to do.

Love

Hi!!

I just had a failed IVF and I was told by mu acupuncturist (2 treatments so far) that I should take a baby aspirin-she said I need to know how thick my endo was. I will ask my IVF doc at the next appointment.

I wanted to know how thick all of your Endometriums were prior to embryo transfer??And if the E2 & progesteron results (during investigation) have anything to do with it?

thanks- I'm worried about this and I just hope this will help in the next IVF .
