Immune Testing - does anyone know....

Post by pauline69 »

Hi everyone,

Just had a 3rd failed IVF/ICSI & as it was our last & I'm driving myself crazy looking for hope that we can still conceive naturally as we are 'unexplained infertility'.

Anyway, recently found out about Dr Beers website & have been reading on it and wondering now if we should have had immune testing done.

We can't afford it at this stage but wondering if any of you have had the immune testing done can you tell me what tests were carried out.

I'm hoping my GP could carry out some/all of the immune tests & prescribe treatment if necessary. (A long shot I know but.....)

Thanks for your help.

Hello Pauline

Sorry to hear about your results. I too have gone through 3 cycles. I am currently on my last and final one. I did the immune testing of antibodics..etc. I am went to another physican which recommended a rest down cycle before stimulation.

I began taking estrace(estrogen) 2 mg pills and prometriu, (progesterone) 100mg for about 30 days. And 1 injection of FSH. In this protocal..my ovaries was resting. I produced more eggs in this cycle then I have even did in 3 cycles. 10 eggs..and 6 fertized. I put back 3.

You can investigate with your physician if he would recommend this protocol. Another alternative is PGD testing of genetics.

Hi Pinkystinky

Thanks for your reply. I'm hoping that if my own GP can perform these tests and I need treatment that she can do it all without having to go via the Assisted Conception Unit.

Good luck with your 2ww & hoping it brings you positive results.

Hi

some clinics offer blood tests but it's more accurate to have a uterine biopsy which is then analysed for Natural Killer Cells. this is what i had done as part of a research study at Liverpool Women's hospital.

turned out that this wasn't my problem but felt good to rule it out.

good luck.
