Hey Brenda - welcome and congrats!! I was the same way as you about my HCG levels. I learned from the other girls and from surfing the internet that there really is no way to tell. I had a test at 15 days post transfer (which was 20 days past collection) and my level was 3556! Did you have a 3 or 5 day transfer? It's better to count days past ovulation (egg collection). Anyway - I really thought I could have been having twins but I found out Sunday that there is one little heartbeat in there! I am thrilled! And my symptoms really kicked in last week when I hit 6 weeks. I have been extremely tired, have had sore boobs, and been slightly queasy/shaky before meals. Good luck!

Thanks Lisa. Congrats on seeing that little one!! You must be thrilled!!! I just made my ultrasound appointment today for May 22. It is a little bit off but will get here soon. I am feeling a bit better about my levels now as I've been hearing some pretty big numbers lately. I had a 3 day transfer. Well good luck with the symptoms that have kicked in. I still feel really good but am 5 weeks today and am expecting things to kick in soon. When I had my daughter they kicked in shortly after learning I had BFP and then lasted until 13 weeks. Just as the books say. Pretty much the symptoms you referred to - tired, sore boobs, queasy feeling if I didn't eat often enough. I found the key was to always have some crackers available and nibble on them. If I got too hungry that is when I would feel the worst. I'm just waiting and wondering what I'll be feeling like soon. Good luck with everything.

Well, gang...looks like this might be the end of the road for me. My ist scan did not go so well. The baby is about a week behind where he/she should be and I am expected to experience a miscarriage at any moment. We will go back on May 15 just to make sure, but things do not look good. Thank you for your prayers and please know that all of you are in mine. It's hard to understand, but I am trying to understand that maybe this was just not the right time for us. I almost wish it had been a negative result from the beginning as I am already very attached to this one.

AMD my thoughts are with you. I was where you are now the last time and I know the heartache you feel. Take the time you need to heal.
Ladies:
I’ve posted over on Pregnant after treatment but thought I would “double up” my question!
I had my first scan at 6.0 wks and the doctor detected a brand new h/b. It was beating at 90. I note that normal heartrate at six weeks is between 90 and 113 but I wanted to know, does anyone have any success stories or reassurance for me? I'm so concerned that I "just made it" to 90. At the same time, I know that 50% of heartbeats are just detected at six weeks.
My eight week scan is May 12th and I'm a nervous wreck. As far as symptoms, I'm a bit queasy and tired but that's about it. My boobs never did get sore before AF came so I'm not too worried about that one.
This is our third and final try through IVF - d.e. cycles all of them.
Thank you for taking the time to write. I appreciate your opinions and experiences!
All i can say is that your heartbeat is within the normal range, i know it is hard not to worry but you have made it through the 1st hurdle, you got to see it, so well done. At my scans i have never been told the HB and i think it is for this reason, knowing sometimes causes unnecessary worry. hopefully the next scan will bring the reassurance you need, but for now things are progressing well.

I wanted to send a big hug to AMD. I hope they will give you close follow-up as to what is happening. I know to well that empty feeling after a BFP. Take time to heal and treat yourself very tenderly.
Lilley - I'm so sorry for your extra worry. I have been obsessed about my babies heartbeat this time because of my experience with a prior miscarriage. However, it is still early in your baby's US AND he/she is still in the normal range and I would try as hard as you can to think positive. Getting a heartbeat at all is a huge hurdle in itself. Many baby's heartbeats can start on the slower side and pick up speed and be just fine. I would encourage you to have a scan earlier than 2 weeks IF that would give you less stress. I like to know what is going on all the time! Also, there was a study done for post ivf women who had scans done weekly for 1st tri. (I know it sounds like alot!) But, they found that the scanned women had less mc's and figure it was due to decreased stress. Do what will make you feel better. I'm sending strong heart prayers to your little one.
Big hello to everyone else. Mother's Day is only 1 week away! This will be the first Mother's Day for me that does not closely follow a mc in 3 years!! We could not be more ecstatic and I hope everyone has a beautiful Mother's Day this year!
