piriton - can I take it?

Post by suzanne »

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone may be able to advise me as to whether it's safe to take Piriton antihistamines. I'm 31 weeks pregnant at the moment and have been eaten alive by insects in the night, and am itching like crazy.

I'm waiting for someone from the nhs helpline to get back to me, but thought someone on here might be able to help in the meantime.

Thanks,
Suzanne.

Thanks Tracey.....you were right, they said no. The pharmacist though has suggested I ask if they will prescribe an antihistamine cream, so I'll try that.

The itching is driving me mad!

Thanks again,
Suzanne.
