Hi Ellie

I am testing 18th May - no symptoms for me either. Wouldn't read too much into that though..! Some women don't get symptoms all the way through their pregnancy. I wish you all the luck in the world for the 15th.

Hi to everyone else. Sorry no personals either, just dropped in to say I am doing fine. The DVD's were very good choice. Yesterday though I had to get out the house, especially with this weather, just went to my sisters and sat out. Going out today too, back at work tomorrow, so hoping my 2ww go quicker......

Take Care everyone

Hi Ellie!

I test with you on the 15th. I think it's better to not have any symptoms. I have had stomach ache like period pain for two days now and every time I go to the loo I dread finding AF has started. This 2WW definately drives you crazy doesn't it! Keeping everything crossed for you - only just 5 days to wait now!!

Dear Ladies

Sorry not to be the bearer of better news. AF came along with full force yesterday. Just had the clinic call and it served to confirm in my heart I already knew. BFN for me & dh. I am at work and I was ok until I tried to talk to dh and tell him and then just could not hold back the tears. I just kept saying that I was sorry. Guess however hard you try to prepare yourself until they call you, you are still holding out for a miracle.

Well. The good news is that I have 6 frosties from this cycle. Hopefully it has told the clinic more about how I might respond. Odds are against it happening first time so may be I will get better luck next time or the time after. dh and I are agreed that we will definitely try again - only issue is fresh vesus frosties next time. Guess that we will see what the consultant recommends for us.

It also makes the odds better for all of you. :D :D :D :D I cannot bear to leave this thread and will have no other 'home' until we can see the consultant which my clinic tell me cannot be for at least 2 weeks. So will stay here and cheer you on for the rest of the month if that is ok.

Sorry - I'll do personals tomorrow but struggling to focus right now.
Thanks for all the support. You have been fab & kept me sane.

Carolyn:

I am so so sorry to hear your news. You've been the best cheerleader, you really deserved a BFP.

I don't know about you but I too had such high hopes for my first IVF cycle. Hang in there. For me, this week has been better than last and hopefully next will be even better.

Maybe take the rest of the day off and go home and rest.

Big Hugs....

I went for a sono this morning after 4 days of Follistim. I have 12 follicles so far. (2 are 10.5, 2 are 9.5, 1 is 9, 1 is 8.5, 2 are 8, 2 are 7.5 and 2 are 4.5) My lining was 7.6. The nurse said everything is going according to schedule and to continue at the current med level. She said we might do the retrieval on next Wednesday or Thursday.

I was really happy about the results until I got a voice mail message this afternoon from the Dr's office telling me to up my Follistim for the next two days. I go for a scan again on Friday.

I didn't get the message until after office hours so I couldn't ask why. Maybe the blood test results came back bad? I am really nervous that there is something wrong.

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear your news.

Best wishes to everyone.

Hi

you're not recommended to have baths for 2 reasons - first of all you shouldn't be getting too hot and secondly you don't want hot water, possibly with bubble bath or whatever in it going up inside you. You're recommended to have showers and not to direct a hot shower spray onto your tummy.

I had embryo transfer today. the other egg had fertilised but not divided so it was just one little embie for me. it's a 4 cell and it's grade 3 but i don't care cos none of my many grade ones worked in the past.

just been taking it easy today. tummy still sore from egg retrieval and is now full of gas cos i really react badly to the progesterone pessaries.

Carolyn - i am so sorry to hear your news. As everyone says, you have really held us together on here and comforted me personally on more than one occasion. You seem to be very together and strong so i know you'll be back for your next go soon.

Hello Ladies,

Went for my second scan after 11 days of stimms today. Asked the nurse just before the scan whether I would be able to continue with stimms if my follies weren't up to the required size, she said no but that she was sure eveything would be ok to proceed.

Needless to say I was really nervous, but am pleased to report that I have 8 good size follies (they didn't tell me exact sizes but my DH had a sneaky peak at the screen while they were measuring and I think my largest was 22.5mm). They also told me I have a number of 'tiddlers'.

Have my HCG shot at 8.30 this evening, an injection free day tomorrow - yippeee :D and then egg collection at 8.30am on Friday morning. Just hoping that at least a couple of the follies have decent eggs in them and fertilise ok so that I can at least get to ET - fingers crossed!

Natalie - Congratulations on your successful ET, just hold on to the fact that it only takes one. Sorry to hear that the progesterone pessaries are causing you grief.

Vess - Hope EC went well for you today.

Good luck to all of you on the dreaded 2ww and hope things are progressing well for those on DR and stimms.

Well, I'm off to get ready for my HCG shot.

Love

I'm so sorry Carolyn, AF is such a poohead. I'm glad to hear you're looking ahead to your next cycle - you must be very strong willed to be thinking so positively already.

Feels like ages since I've posted. Still waiting for EC date after 15 days on stims, was happy pootling along for a while but now my abdomen is so sore, I can feel my eggs bouncing around like bags of marbles whenever I make a sudden movement!! I had a scan on Monday and the dr said that my right side was ready to go but my left needed one more day. Well, it is now Wednesday and still no call to tell me when EC will be! Furthermore, I have been going into the clinic at 7.30 every morning for the past 2 weeks (even wknds!), they even call me back for another test mid afternoon some days. I am so desperate for a lie-in, feeling absolutely shattered and DH is away on business again. Feel like I just want to crawl into bed and sleep for a week. Poor me! :( Clinic called me today to tell me to up my fluids to 3-4 litres of water plus the litre of milk I'm already taking - oh my god. Roll on EC day...

Carolyn I'm sorry that things did not work this time around. You know, I read online somewhere that the first cycle demonstrates how well you respond to certain medications and though some women are successful, for the ones who aren't the clinic can now tailor your next cycle specifically for you. It seems like the first cycles are kind of generic and almost everyone starts out on the same level. Keep holding out for your little miracle! :D

Thank you all.

Lauralou - try not to worry, easier said than done I know. They will have uped the meds as they will want to get the follices to grow a little more. They generally like to get them up to around 18mm so that they have a good chance of getting an egg that is just right. Sounds like you have quite a few which is great but that they just want to boost their size a little. That really is quite normal as many of the girls on here will tell you

Lucybucy - sounds like you have quite a few follies. The water is just to reduce the chance of getting OHSS. Not long to go now to EC when you will find out the fruits of all your work so far. It will be worth it!

Natalie - glad that you have the little one back on board. I was not so good with the pessaries either - they are yuck but at least no more injections for you

Vess - any news on your EC - hope that it went well & they gave you plenty of meds!!!

Wendy - 8 good size follies with one at 22mm is great news. EC not far away now - good luck for Friday - hope that you get lots of great eggs

USP - welcome to the thread. The girls are great and will be the best support that you could ask for. Ask questions or just come on here for company - whatever helps you

Cyot - the cramping should pass. Just keep up the water and pineapple juice :D

tlkmoser - second time lucky for both you & me girl :D

So many of you now with test dates in about a week - next week is going to be really busy. May testers are not doing so well so we must be due lots of BFPs.

I made a follow up appointment yesterday so we knew how far away that will be. It is on 31st May so less that three weeks. They told me that it had to be at least 2 weeks so they could collect all the data from this cycle and suss out what it all means so we get the right next steps. Prissy - am hanging onto your words from our favorite nurse! We have to change consultant as the one that we started with is retiring. He did tell us up front though so I knew that was coming. The new secretary was very helpful so I take that as a good sign. dh and I are meant to be at a charity bash tonight. We were like maybe we will not go. Then we both said sod it, we've not been out much, I can have a drink, let's go and be like normal people. So I am going to get my nails done this afternoon and we are going to go out on the town.  Only so much moping around that I can do. dh has been brilliant - he said he had a cry yesterday but on his own so that he did not distress me anymore. I am so lucky.

Better get on with work now. Yawn Yawn

Loads of baby dust to you all.
