FET-2WW

Post by Russian Treasure »

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jennifer and I just had a FET this past wednesday. I am trying a FET after a 2 year gap from my last FET. I had a fresh transfer back in 2003 and they transfered 2 embryos. I developed a severe case of OHSS that kept me hospitalized for a month. Anyway, I did get pregnant on my fresh, but had a blighted ovum. I then tried a FET a couple months later and they transfered 3 embryos, it unfortunately did not take. I tried it soon after I had gall bladder surgery, so maybe it was too soon. I was totally drained emotionally and physically from the OHSS and the negative transfer that my husband and I decided to adopt from Russia and try our frozen embryos at a later date. We are now proud parents of a 3 year old boy from Russia that has been home with us almost a year.

I am also writing because I have a few questions maybe some of you can help me with. I had my transfer wednesday and they transfered a 9cell and a 7cell. I am on a medicated cycle, so I am taking progesterone shots and estrogen patches. I have the sore boobs which is from the shots because I had the soreness before the transfer. My main concern is the abdominal cramps (ovarian area). It almost feels as though I want to start a period. Also, when I went to the bathroom the other day (#2) I noticed a pea sized drop of blood on my toilet paper (pinkish/mild red in color), and then I noticed my underwear was stained with really faint pink spotting. My heart stopped when I saw the spotting. I noticed the pea sized drop of blood again the next day, but nothing really since. I just have the cramping still. I also had some uterine cramping the other day on and off and thought my embryos were either in their little nest or being disturbed b the contractions. I called my doctor and he said the cramping could just be from the transfer because they were in my cervix and the spotting could be from that as well. He said its so early to tell what is going on, but to not worry about it at the moment. Do any of you have similar stories to tell. Its been 2 years since my last transfer I don't remember. ALso, did anyone of you bleed from the progesterone shots when the needle was pulled out? My mom has been giving me the shots while my husband is deployed and she is pulling back on the syringe, so there is no blood, but she is worried about the bledding once the needle is pulled out, its only happened a couple times.

Good luck everyone,
Jennifer

Jennifer,

Hi, i just read your story congratulations on your baby boy what a great thing you have done by adopting. He must be wonderful.

Your spotting could just be that the embryos are implanting, this is one of the signs of implantation, but if it bleeds heavy or bright red i would definitly call my clinic. If you feel uncomfortable with anything call your clinic thats what they are there for.

Wishing you a BFP !!!

best of luck,

vita
