I'm afraid its a BFN this time round. Was hoping for beginners luck but its not to be. And to add inuslt to injury, AF arrived within 2 hours of getting the results. Tomorrow is Mother's Day in Oz and DH has to leave at lunchtime for a week in Alice Springs (middle of desert in middle of Oz). I guess that's what you get when your test date is the 13th! :)

I'm ok. I wasn't suprised. The 2ww was awful but for the last 4 years I've felt like this each month when AF arrives, so its nothing new.

The positive thing out of all tthis is that next time we'll be prepared. We started this cycle the day after getting all our test results back and had no real time to digest what we'd been told and what it all meant.

We will take a month off as its my 30th on the 28th may and we have a big cocktail party planned (I'm cooking for 60!!!) and DH is travelling with work pretty much for the next 3 weeks. We are taking my 30th as the final "Do". After that no take away, caffine, alcohol, hot baths and all other things naughty for BOTH of us. We are going to concentrate on IUI with 100% of our strength and if that gets us no joy after 6 tries....Its the IVF train for us.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Without this site, I would have been a mess. I am going to hang around in the meantime, if thats ok, cos I'm kinda addicted to you all!

Hugs, Em

Hi Em

The only thing that I can say is that I so know how you feel. My heart goes out to you & your dh. I am sending you big hugs to the other side of the world. It is amazing that you can feel so much for people who you have never met but because you really do know what it is like for them. How can other people realise what we put ourselves through and what the waiting & results are like. It is impossible unless you are there doing it yourself.

You are strong. You have lots of plans including your big birthday bash. You sound like you have a great dh. I am going to find out about acupuncture which is meant to help. Have you thought of that at all?

Me & dh talked long & hard last night. We'll go again. Maybe another fresh ivf (and keep our precious frosties as our final back-up plan) depending what the consultant says.

No beginners luck for you & me. We'll just have to cycle together again. I can't live without the site either. Hope that you are going to stay on April/May thread so we can keep talking.

Big hugs to you & dh.
Love Carolyn xxxxx

Thanks Carolyn, I'll definately stay on the April/May site....I know you all now! I was talking to DH today and I was saying "Carolyn in London said this" and "MissPrissy in the US said that" and he though I was crazy! Its hard to explain to him that you can confide in someone you've never met when they are feeling everything as raw as you are.

Thanks for your thoughts, especially when I know you are hurting too.

So Sorry Em.

Take the time you need to grieve to refill your energy for the next tmt. You are strong - you can persevere!
It sounds like you have a good plan with your dh- enjoy your 30th!
You are right about being addicted to this site- to share all these emotions. I too speak about you to my dh the same way you do. When I was in the hospital I met a girl with OHSS and I kept going on and on about this site.

Hugs.
