Waiting for 1st scan

Walsh, I felt the same way. The day I found out I was pregnant a friend gave me a gift, which was a few baby outfits. I thanked her graciously. But inside I panic'd. At that point I was only like 5 weeks or so. It felt way too early and didn't want to "jinx" anything. I left the clothes in the gift box in my trunk for several weeks before I dared to take it out and bring it into the house. Now it still sits in the gift box, in the basement, in the storage room.

kristiA i just felt so bad have to say that to them i always told them it was so wonderful to have friends who was there for me but just if we could put it off a little long i felt just so rude to have to say this to them..u at least got to just leave it in the box and try and forget it but i know your mind was still on that box..i just now dont feel like i did the right thing by asking them to give me alittle time maybe i should have just shut up and let them do what they wanted to cause i do feel bad about this??thanks for your reply

I just wanted to say a big welcome to all the new BFP's - congratulations! I hope the long, hard wait for all the scans doesn't kill you too much. It can make the 2ww seem like a walk in the park!

I am offically resigning from this thread for now. I had my Nuchal scan yesterday, and the little munchkin is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Now I don't have any scans until my 20 week one, so will take myself off the list and just pop in to say hi!

I got a BFP yesterday and 1st scan due 24th May. It's been reassuring to read your experiences and feelings - I havent posted for sevreal months (on 3rd transfer) and cant quite take it all in. My level was 388 at 14 days- Brenda, you are high too, arent you?Twins??!! Who knows!!!???

Wow! Yes, Lumi, yes I see our numbers were similar. When is your first scan? And Walsh, I see that you & I are the same schedule. I had a fresh 3 day transfer on April 14 also. Wow!! Where are you guys located? And what due date were you given? I was given January 2. As they told me they go from the conception day(EC day). Wow keep me posted on things. It'll be great to follow with you through our journey. My first scan is on May 22. I'm getting excited!!

Hi Everyone,
My first scan is on May 22nd. I am sooooooo scared.
I had one done this past Wed. at 5 weeks 2days. They could see a yolk sac, but too early for a heartbeat.

brenda oh looks like we are both on the same time line but they gave me differnt due date then yours???dec.31 i dont really get that do u???im living at the moment in jacksonville nc will be going home june 10 so where are u at the moment??i wonder if theres a way to get my first scan pushed up to the 22??any ideas how to do that??lol i know its only 4 days but the wait is so darn hard everyone keeps asking me how many??and these scans im really unsure what they will be doing on that day do they just listen for a hb or is it a ultrascan too??and if its an ultra scan do i need to drink a lot of water cause they didnt really give me clue on what it all is so im really hoping someone can answer my question

well i went out and did it today got me some maternity clothes old navy is so awesome!!! dh was fine with everything i bought but i really feel like i went way overboard on buying but if dh dosent get upset why stress it ill fit into all of soon enough i do have a little bump and i know the sales lady was looking at me like i was crazy cause im really not showing that much oh well what can i say cant wait to get bigger good luck to everyone on their first scan

Walsh - Looks like we have exactly the same dates - I am also due on Dec 31st if there is only 1 in here

(With that date its starting to dawn on DH that life is never going to be the same again - not likely to be a big drinking New Years this year

Starting to show - just wanted to check with you guys.............I have never been exactly slim (hovering between a UK 12 - 14) however I already have only 1 pair of trousers that fit....I feel huge (of course the maternity gear is way too big so I guess I'll need to opt for the size up....). I am beginning to wonder if I have rubbish tummy muscles or something

- Is anyone else starting to get a belly yet?

Hi all

It's s0 exciting to start thinking about showing......I have always been up and down with weight and actually at my slimest (still not that slim, though) for a few years, so I have a range of clothes in all sizes to keep me going for a while!!!

My first scan is May 24th - I am trying to hold back from getting too excited until then but it's impossible. DH and I have agreed not to buy anything baby related for quite a while, but then we have just made a mental list of stuff this morning!

Also felt sick all day yesterday but feel better today as I ahve been drinking ginger tea. DH thinks it's all in my head and too early for symptoms (men!) - anyone else sick?
