Negative test but no af

Hi I did my pregnancy test today as clinic told me to and it was negative. We were both so upset because we felt everthing had gone so well with IUI and i had no sign of spotting which is what usually happens before af comes. However af has not arrived and was told it might not come for 7-10 days. Is this usual? I keep wondering wether the test could have been too early or something and it could still work! The clinic said its possible but unlikely as I have not got sore boobs! Has this ever happened to anyone? Thanks for message Jackie sorry this isn't more positive for you? hi sorry i have not had iui but ivf and when i have got a negative result my period follow's when i stop taking the cyclogest pessaries.the drugs really mess with your body. sorry i can not be of much help but what ever tmt you have a negative is just as bad. i wish you luck with your next go. from july ann

Hi There I am sorry that I can't help because I have not had IUI I had ICSI. The thing is the drugs do mess with your system, but my clinic said to me that the date I was due to test was the day I would of come on AF. They said give a couple of days before and after but I have not heard of 7/10 days, maybe someone else will be able to help. If you still don't have AF in 3 days I would say to test again. I'm sorry that you are down at the minute with your negative result but it may change. I done a test on day 13 and should of done it on the 14th day. I tested negative 24 hours later I tested positive and I am now 17wks pregnant, so lets hope you follow suit. Love Shell. xx

Hi Nadine, I also have done IVF but my last cycle it took 5 days before AF arrived. I had stopped taking Prog but still had symptoms, sore boobs, feeling sick etc, but it was reaction to the drugs. That is the cruellest thing about this. Your body is pumped so full of hormones that it reacts accordingly. I had no spotting in between and had almost convinced myself that the test was wrong, but sadly it was correct. Have a good cry when AF arrives and then get +ve for the next cycle. My latest thing is crystals. I'm carrying pockets full of moon stones and rose crystals!! Makes me feel better anyway, even though I know it is pretty mad. I have also had acupuncture which I found good at getting rid of the blues and making you more relaxed which is the most difficult thing about this whole process. Good luck with it all Karen W

hello nadine, sorry to hear about your negative result. Its so tough and so sad. Like the other girls have said once you stop the pessaries your af should follow in a few days. this happened to me on 1st attempt and I thought that it had worked. I hope you are ok, if not you know where we all are. take care kathryn x

Hi Thanks for all your replies they are so helpful. I think you are all right its probably the drugs messing up my cycle keeping my af away. I've got an appointment with clinic in 3 weeks and then I will start IVF. I have to say I'm quite nervous about it but then when i read about what a lot of you have been through and how many times you have been through it you are all amazing. I guess we are all driven by our great need for our own baby, even so I take my hat off to you all. Kathryn- i didn't message you at the time as i was new and didn't know wether to but i was so sorry that you m/c. I really felt for you and wish you all the luck next time. xx

Hi Nadine sorry to hear that you got a negative, its so horrible isn't it. Good luck with your ivf, we have to have another 3 go's at iui before we can go for ivf, not looking forward to that!!! Take care and good luck love jackie
