Just Lost One Twin but the other is doing fine.

Post by moseskoko »

Myself and my Fiance have finally gotten to the heartbeat stage of pregnancy. She had tried for 7 years with her ex and never became pregnant. We have been trying for about 18 months now. She was pregnant our first ICSI try but had a blighted Ovum. Our second try was negative. The third try (this current one) produced a positive pregnancy. We were very nervous because when we had an Ultrasound done the first time there was no Yolk sac present. When we had the ultrasound this time it showed twins both with heartbeats. On Saturday we found out that we lost one of them. She had bleeding for a full day and then had a clot exit. Our Dr. is still very confident that we will have 1 healthy baby. The Due date is Christmas day.

John,
My sympathies to you and your fiance. I experienced the same thing with my twins. I felt a very wide range of emotion... sadness at the loss, disappointment, grief, and guilt (for not feeling still excited about the baby that was still doing well.)

Whatever emotions you go through, don't worry about them. Just support each other and take whatever time you need emotionally to get through it.

My thoughts are with you and I wish you the best for the rest of the pregnancy.

Thanks for the words Julie. You pretty much nailed the emotion side of it. I felt really bad that I was suddenly dissappointed even though we are still pregnant. I'm just concerned that my fiance is emotionally spent. We are hanging in so far and we are still pregnant so things are looking up. Take care.

Hi John,

First of all I really feel for you and your fiance, My wife is currently pregnant with twin girls and she is 26 weeks. Things were very touch and go with one of our girls for a while so I can imagine what your going through.

All I will say is that you still have a very healthy baby there and sometimes although we don't know the reason why, God does these things for a reason - I think your still very blessed as you still have a pregnancy! You sound like a very caring and supportive husband. Your lovely wife has you to look after her and I wish you both all the very best for the rest of the pregnancy
