Debra,
Already said this in a pm, but wanted to reiterate how sad I am for you. Probably too soon to talk about the "bright side" but at least now you KNOW. Best wishes for what lies ahead.

Lisa,
I hope you are wrong, but as you say... you've been here too many times before. How disappointing. We try and try and try. We go through all the pain and sacrifice and in the end, nature has the final say. I'm so sorry. Please let us know your test results and also where you go from here with the foster parent program.

Not much to tell here. EC has been bumped out a day - now it's Saturday. That actually helps with my work schedule, so now no one has to cover for me. Also, had a sad moment today when they couldn't get any blood out of either arm for the blood test. My veins have too much scar tissue from all the previous pokes. :( The doc said we could skip it - I was almost in tears. Really can't do this again. I can't. NO MORE DAMNED NEEDLES!

Silly to complain about anything in the shadow of your news, Debra and Lisa. Sorry.

Hello Ladies:

Debra: I'm so sorry to hear your news. I know exactly how you feel.

Lisa: You never know. You know what they say, "It ain't over until the fat lady sings." Hopefully, you will get a call regarding a young foster child soon.

Randa: Good luck on your upcoming EC. I know what you mean about not being able to do this anymore. After my second IVF, I just don't want to go through the shots, the blood draws, etc. We have our post IVF conference on May 30th. I still don't know what we are going to do with our 4 frosties. I guess we will find out our chances and the cost.

Yasmina: Good luck on your upcoming cycle.

I was reprinted today for the adoption. We should get our final piece of
paperwork in the mail next week! This is a long and tedious process and it
has just begun. We will have to wait at least until next summer before we
go to China to get our baby. It is like have a 12 - 14 month pregnancy instead of a 9 month one.

Well, I'm going on holiday next Tuesday. We are off to the Big Island of Hawaii for a family vacation with DH, stepson and myself.

Good luck to all.

Hello all
Sending big hugs to Debra and Lisa. The other ladies have said it all. My heart goes out to you both at this sad time. Please take care x

Randa, good luck with EC on Sat. Hope those follies have done their thing! Thinking of you

Tammy, I liked your thought about the length of pregnancy being 12 months instead of 9. I truly hope it all works out and you have your baby soon. Have a great holiday.

Hi Girls,

Lisa - I am so sorry to read your post - sending you a big hug :( :(

DebraP - you know your own body - take it easy (how with your schedule I'm not sure!) :(

Randa - you too have been through so much not just physically - sending you a hug too :)

Children - I believe that yoga and Pilates helped hugely i getting my nat BFP. It really relaxed and recentred me as well as relaigning all of my body so everything could flow easily :) ...

Anna - My EDD is December 8th and my first scan id May 31st followed on June 7th with a CVS test - so from nothing other than a midwife visit this week to living in the hospital for a week almost.

Oh, and I also found a lump in my left boob - so have to go to the breast clinic to have it looked at and biopsied......

Life is never straight forward.

Love to all,

Nuala

Hi everyone,

Lisa, not sure if you will be around to read this, but I am so sorry to hear your news. I too hope that your foster child comes very soon. Take care of yourself.x

Nuala, glad things are still on track with your BFP, good luck with the appt at the breast clinic. Hopefully it will just be a cyst. Fingers crossed.x

Randa, how did EC go yesterday? Hope all went well.

Tammy, wishing you a very happy holiday in Hawaii. Who knows, maybe you will come home to some good news about the adoption.

Anna, how are things with you? Have you "signed up" for IM in Barcelona?

Well my news is that AF arrived today, as predicted by Isida (2 weeks after my day 19 shot). So now I have REALLY got to do something and book my flights and apartment for Kiev. It's not that I don't want to go - I do. But I didn't want to have to go alone, and DH WILL NOT ask for any time off work. Half-term starts on Sunday, 2 weeks today, the Saturday being Speech Day, so he just will not ask for the last 4 days off. I get SO cross with him sometimes - but I have to remind myself that he has given way over so many times the last 2 years, from "I don't want to go down the IVF route" right through to now agreeing to DE tmt (which initially didn't "sit well" with him).

I can of course, go out for 5 days or so on my own, then he can join me when he can. I just would rather he came with me. Grrr!!!

Hey ho, I will soldier on and maybe take my sister with me - she has offered.

Love to everyone else on our list. Take care all,
Bev xxx

Hi Everyone,

Lisa, my heart goes out to you. No one can ever say you didn't try - you gave it everything. Please let us know how things move forward with the foster program.

Bev, sorry you are down about dh not going. We picture our lives with a husband who is like the ones on tv and in books (unrealistically perfect) and then we are disappointed when they prove otherwise. At least that what happens to me. I get reminded about once a day that my hubby does NOT think like a woman. You are a good person to recognize how far he has come. Focus on the positive.

Got 5 eggs from EC yesterday. Not a great number, but last time we got 5 all of them fertilized, so maybe that will be the case here. We are going to put 4 back instead of 3 this time. Should get the call today on fert rate.

Better see if I can do more than lounge around today. Have to be able to work by tomorrow.

032323 - haven't had cetrotide cyle, so can't help there. Have had break through bleeding and didn't seem to make any difference for me either. When do you start taking the next med?

Worst news yet on fertilization for us - only 2 out of 5 fertilized. :( Looks like we will thaw a couple from our frozens and add them to this cycle. Transfer is set for Tuesday morning.

Hi Ladies, happy Monday

Nuala, hope all goes well with your biopsy. When will it be? Thinking of you.

Kat, did you have any problems with payment protocols at QMH? I had a phone call from Kingston Hospital regarding a payment. I have never recieved an invoice from QMH. Is this normal? Hi all, Hope I can join you as I have just turned 40 on the 9th May, I originally posted my question on the IVF board and it was suggested that I ask you ladies.

I was wondering if it is possible to get more than 1 IVF treatment on the NHS.

Our first atempt in April was -neg, and due to very bad luck, ( we bought a van for my husband and it had HP still owing on it, so had to pay out another £7000 to keep it) so we are now in a position that it would be impossible to fund treatment ourselves.

I feel so fed up, and hate to think that I am now written off!!!

We have used up our NHS IVF, and now I have just turned 40, it looks like thats it for us, I would love to here if there is a postcode thing going on.
I have a follow up appointment on the 24th and would love to go armed with some info, I have also thought about writing to our health authority.

Hope to here from some of you lovely ladies soon.

Hi all, I'm still lurking, just can't seem to keep away!

Debra & Lisa - sorry to see your results, hope you're doing OK

Ilona - welcome - I replied to you on your other post but sadly it will come down to where you live in the end exactly what you can get from the health authority. My clinic were very good to me and organised the drugs to be paid for on my second cycle but everywhere is different.

Anna - I never had any problems with invoices - I think they used to come direct from Kingston hosp. I wasn't charged for everything this last time so I could have an invoice turn up at any time as I only paid for one scan. Maybe QMH felt sorry for me and didn't put it through to Kingston. You could try speaking to Nick, he may know what it was for.
Did you do any sightseeing in Barcelona? We got the call to say we had 3 fertilised whilst sitting on the top deck of the tourist bus!

Bev - I know only too well that DHs can be funny things sometimes. Randa is right, they don't think like us and they will never really understand what goes on in our heads but yours obviously loves you very much to have come through everything this far with you.
When my DH 'decided' we were not going back to Spain I was very hurt but when I talked to him I understood more and maybe I got to know him a bit better. One good thing that has come out of all this ivf stuff is that we are closer than we have ever been. Don't be too hard on him, that's what I say.

Randa - hope you get a nice collection of embies to transfer, will keep everything crossed

Caz - I had my best results with cetrotide cycles (not that they were very good but they were my best..!)

Nuala - congratulations on your positive - you are now the person other people will use as an example to say 'look, it CAN happen'!! Could the lump just be something hormonal to do with being pg? Hope they find it is nothing to worry about.

Hi to everyone else too and hope you are feeling as positive as you can

Phew! That was a long one!

Lots of love to everyone on this sunny morning. Time to do some work now...
