yep, ive officially joined the 'overdue club' with u michelle!! i had pains yesterday - period pain and lower back pain like in the pelvis and i thought yaaay finally but then it stopped arrrgghhhh... nothing at all today either... anyways, saw my doc and we officially have a 'birthdate'... monday may 29th (my sisters bday) im booked in for an induction!! i go into hospital at 5pm and then my doc inserts the gel at 6pm - i then have the option to go home or stay in overnight... i think i prefer to go home however we live almost an hour away from the hospital so thats a bit scary - i'll see how i go! i really want this lil bub to come naturally, everyones saying how 'unpleasant' an induction is and im such a chicken as it is but i must remain focused and keep thinking that by this time next week im going to be a mum woooow!! its still so hard to believe!!
its only thursday - i still have 4 more sleeps b4 being induced - im going to go for a walk now and we're having a chillie stir fry tonight

hopefully that'll shift things for me!!

thanks smita and littlep! im getting so anxious! my doc isnt working this weekend its his partners rostered weekend - a v.cute young doctor! when i worked at the hospital all us girls used to check him out - who would have thought that there would be a possibility that he could deliver our baby

i welcome it now if it means i dont have to be induced on monday!! i just wanna hold our lil baby in our arms!!!!!

ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!!!

Luka Anthony born may 30th @ 7.46pm!!! he's beautiful and im so in love with him!! we both are and we cant stop staring at him... its sooo hard to believe he's ours he truly is a miracle and i never thought i'd actually make it here!!! all that worrying for nothing - we think he's just perfect!!
got induced the day before but had actually gone into labour myself and with some begging was allowed to go home to my parents house as they live closer to the hospital... had to be in by 6.30am the next morning (may 30th) to have my waters broken (i was a nervous wreck lol - so many emotions in one!) but they put more gel in and then put me on the drip... the doc broke my waters by about 11.30am to find that it had already broken by itself which was a mystery coz i never felt anything so we dont know when it actually happened! while the doc was trying to break my waters he actually scalped the baby and said "oops, i think i just gave the baby its first hair cut!" thats when we saw that the baby had long blonde hair!! it was exciting! had an epidural and i could have kissed the anaethetist so those of u who have a birth plan - i suggest writing everything down as u would like it to be and then once in the labour ward screw it up and throw it out the window!!! i really didnt want an epidural but im so wrapt i did!! anyways had a couple of scares when the baby's heart rate dropped twice - the second time they were getting ready for a c.section but the doc wanted to give it one more shot and man did i push!! with the help of the forceps lil luka was out and looked gorgeous instantly! both dh and myself burst into tears with relief and absolute pure instant love... i was a bleeder and had 3rd degree tears even though he gave me an episiotomy so looks like any other bubs will have to be c.sections... im still sore now but its all soooo worth it!! when i sleep i dream about him, when im in the shower i miss him - thanku God and thanku to each and everyone of u for all the support and encouragment u've given me!!!

Danica - i just cried with joy reading your story about little Luka. What a great name! You've made me even more excited for my big day (which I din't think was possible as I'm already bursting). Well done and enjoy your home with little Luka in it.
